ILNP ‘Wildflowers’ Collection – Swatches & Review

Why yes, this post is another post of SHAME. It’s about me once again neglecting a beautiful indie brand, and then finally crawling around to swatch the abundance of collections I have saved up from them, after they collected dust under my desk for far too long. And then after swatching, I’ll kick myself for not putting these gorgeous shades onto my nails sooner – it’s a cycle I’m working to break here.

So yes, let’s talk about ILNP. ILNP came onto my radar at the end of 2022, and I finally purchased their ‘Trapped’ Halloween collection. Since then, I’ve been enamored with each new release and as mentioned, I’ve collected quite a few collection that deserve their time on the blog.

We work to remedy that first with today’s post, all about the ‘Wildflowers’ collection. This one released in Spring 2024 (okay I’m not too far behind with this one), and as you might guess from the season and name, it has a very spring-like color palette. We have the typical 6 bottle release, and each shade is filled with so much sparkle and shine. It’s a little something different from your typical spring color palette, but I can still feel the warm sun oozing from each and every shade.

You can find these shades on the ILNP website. None of ILNP’s collections are limited edition, sticking around on their website for years after release so no rush – but I mean I’m sure you’ll want to grab at least a few after seeing these swatches. Let’s get on into it.

We’re starting right out with ‘Petals’. This one is a bright pink jelly base jam packed with metallic fuchsia flakes all throughout. It’s a shifty one – many in this set are – and those flakes shift from that fuchsia over to a coral-orange. It can even look more purple in certain angles and lighting.

Since it’s a more jelly base, it’s about building up those flakes to a more opaque, smooth finish. The base on the 1st coat is even, but the flakes are still uneven and there’s still visible nail line. The 2nd coat comes in and layers it up and makes it opaque. It’s smooth and reflective and I loved that overall finish. Of course it’ll be more bright in my direct lights, but you’ll still get a shine in indirect lighting as well.

Next we have ‘Melody’ and it’s the orange version of ‘Petals’ above. So that means it’s a bright orange jelly base filled with those same metallic flakes. This polish shifts from that bright citrus orange on over to a bright yellow gold. It does have a more smooth foiled finish than ‘Petals’ above, but they’re still very similar in formula.

Once again that 1st coat comes in with that even jelly base, but the 2nd coat comes in to layer up those shimmery flakes and really build up the foiled look of it. It paints on so nicely, and I just loved how these both glowed on the nails.

Next we have my favorite of the collection, and of course I love the chartreuse shimmer. This is ‘Willow’ and it’s a warm yellow-green jelly base filled with more of those same metallic flakes. This one has the “chunkiest” finish of them all with the flakes being the most scattered in the jelly base. It’s a little chartreuse, it’s a little olive-y, and I’m in love.

It’s got the same formula as the 1st 2, with that first coat coming in with base and first layer of flakes. And the 2nd coat layers and builds up those flakes to create an opaque metallic finish. With any of these it’ll depend on your preferences and how it’s looking after 2, and you can add a 3rd to further build up that finish even more.

Next up we have ‘Bluebell’ and this has been the fan favorite shade of the set. It starts with a dusty lighter blue jelly base that’s jam packed with scattered holographic sparkles and the strongest red-orange-golden shimmery flash I’ve seen. It’s so all around shifty, it’s all around glowy, and photos can barely do this one justice. You can just get a taste of how much this one changes with that 2nd photo.

And here to repeat myself again with this formula: with that 1st coat of jelly it deposits a base color and starts to lay down that shimmer. After that it’ll be opaque in either 2 to 3 coats depending on how thick of coats you apply, as well as your own nails and preferences. I personally did add a 3rd coat to continue to build up that shimmer and cover any last nail line peeking out.

‘Songbird’ is a deep blue jelly base filled with scattered holographic glitters. It’s the most “scattered”, and one might says “simple” finish of the bunch, as it lets those sparkles just contrast against that rich blue base.

This one is the most about just building up that jelly base itself instead of the sparkles. Luckily it’s a deeper more pigmented jelly, so it built up well with 2 thicker coats. If you’re using thinner coats or if you have longer nails, you might want a 3rd to further build up the opacity on this one. Overall it’s even and smooth to paint on, so those 3 coats are easy.

And last up we have ‘Flower Child’. This one is a clear base filled with a light pink, almost lilac purple holographic shimmer and a bright aqua blue flash. Once again, we have a shifty shade on our hands, and in my brighter lighting you see so much of that blue shimmer.

This one has a clear base as well as lighter shimmer so that combined to make the most sheer formula of the set. But I was still able to get it opaque with 3 thin coats. That bright blue shimmer also helps to cover any last nail line (who doesn’t love a distracting shimmer).

And that’s the set! This was another unique and gorgeous collection from ILNP, and it firmly cemented them onto my list of brands always on my wishlist. I look forward to all of their newest releases, and I know they’ll always be putting out something interesting!

All of these shades have lovely formulas, and they build up in 2-3 coats to give you some of the most mesmerizing finishes. I can recommend any of the shades here! Are you interested in any of these? Have you tried ILNP?
