(This is another review that has just been sitting in my drafts and makeup baskets for FAR too long. I like to tell you at the beginning of every single post and 1600 other times that 2026 is the year of catching up on my blog, okay!! Luckily all but one of these products is still available to purchase at the point of publishing, I’m SO sorry that the highlighter was more limited but maybe you can get lucky and find it in store somewhere! Okay let’s get into the post!!!)

In the year 2024, I visited Japan for the first time with my then fiancé. We loved it so much that last year in 2025, we went back for our honeymoon! And on both of those trips, I really began diving on into the world of Asian beauty, and absolutely packing my suitcase for the return home with new and exciting products to try. From there, I began following various Asian beauty content creators (Ghoul.in.Japan first introduced me to the brand we’ll be looking at today!) and I was just sold on the amazing packaging and textures I was seeing. This is all to set up that through those content creators I was eventually introduced to Girlcult, an extremely innovative and unique Chinese brand and ohh I always just want every single one of their products and releases.

Then suddenly, when I saw sneaks and peeks and swatches of this specific collection, I knew this was the ONE and I finally took the plunge and bought quite a few of the products. SO today, we’re looking at Girlcult’s ‘Peach Festival’ collection (there have been other names I’ve seen across other various platforms and stores, but ‘Peach Festival’ was the most prominent translation so I’m sticking with it!) It features insanely gorgeous packaging all themed around, of course, peaches, with face and lip products included.

These products are still available from YesStyle, which is an Asian beauty store that stocks just about every Korean, Japanese, and Chinese beauty brand all on one site. I’ve ordered from them many times, but please note it can take a month or so to arrive as the products are coming from overseas! They’ll have more specific timelines noted on each individual product. YesStyle also covers all tariffs and customs fees so you never have to worry about that. They also constantly have discounts and coupon codes, so I often find they’ll have cheaper prices than other sites selling the same items. You can definitely shop around, but that’s just my spiel of how much I love YesStyle, and discovering it has been bad for my wallet. Now let’s get on into the PEACHES.

Let’s just start by looking at this PACKAGING. Even the outer cardboard packaging is a work of art, and I had to keep some of these boxes (it’s not hoarding, it’s clearly appreciating art). The peaches remind me of the peaches in Animal Crossing, so maybe that’s what actually got me to buy into this set. There were 5 total multi-use face products, and 10 total lip products. Across the spread I grabbed 4 of the face compacts and only 3 of the lip products (I had to exercise SOME self control after all)

Girlcult’s collections and products often take inspiration from ancient Chinese history, and to learn about that inspiration, as well as the official Chinese names and pronunciations – and for C-beauty in general, I highly recommend following Chinese influencer @foodishbeauty. She’s introduced me to quite a few other Chinese brands as well.

Let’s begin with the face compacts. At this point in time on YesStyle, these retail for $15.73 each. (YesStyle’s prices are always changing, so I can only note what they are at this particular moment, and there’s a chance they can be even cheaper!)

They all come in this very light pink cardboard boxes with the gorgeous peachy illustration right on the front. It also features swirly metallic green elements all across each box. You’ll see with every Girlcult release that so much attention to detail and design is put into every single product, I almost don’t even need to like the shade inside (I said almost, I’m not promoting completely irresponsible purchasing behavior here).

You can even see the print continues onto the inner flap of the OUTER packaging. I just love the PEACHES.

And if you thought the outer packaging was gorgeous, just look at the actual compacts themselves. Who wouldn’t want these displayed on a vanity?

They’re slightly peach shaped and the top lid has a green to pink gradient. There’s a little “button” decoration on each featuring a marbled appearance, and then a textured fabric moment on the very top. The bottom lid pulls it all together being a deep forest green.

I wanted to really get a close up of the texture, so you can imagine that it feels like a bus seat, or a tightly textured carpet.

Now for the inside, and no need to stifle any gasps of appreciation. Girlcult’s products often also include intricate embossing on the products themselves, so it can be almost difficult to want to get your fingers and brushes into these and start smooshing around those faces. (It’s easier for me to mess them up when they’re at now at least documented on the blog forever).

They call these the ‘Emotion Multi-Use Makeup Cream’ or ‘Multi-Use Cream Blusher’ depending on which website you’re buying from. The emotion blushes are a staple product of theirs, and they often release new shades within the line for different collections. I grabbed 2 opaque color blushes, one split pan highlighter and one jelly blush shade. There was one more blush color that I didn’t pick up, as it was a super light pastel pink shade, more for matte highlighting and brightening, a very popular concept in Asian beauty.

Each of these shades features a winking sun face, a pattern you’ll see often on Girlcult’s packaging and accessories, somewhat like a logo. It’s raised up so while the face details can get rubbed away with use and swatching, it would take a lot of use to fully smooth out the rest of embossing.

I’ll show all of the products and shades close up first, and then farther down with the swatches I’ll discuss the formulas!

Going in number order, this first shade is #20 and is labeled as ‘Fuwa Cake’ (if you watch Foodish Beauty’s videos above, she might note a different translated name, but I’m just going with how they’re labeled on YesStyle). This is more of a neutral color, pulling as a more dusty, cooler blush. It’s still very warm, but compared to the shade that comes after it, you’ll see those more muted tones. Looking at the group photo of all of the shades, this one is on the bottom right, and you can really see those muted tones when next to the other blush shade.

#21 called ‘Plump Cake’ is fitting for the collection, being a super peachy shade (this is showing as sold out on YesStyle, but I see it in stock on other retailers like LookHealthyStore). This one definitely has more white pigment to it, so it could potentially a little chalky on deeper skintones (something that can be an issue with a lot of Asian face products). It’s very warm, and it’s an almost pastel peach blush shade.

Next we move to the jelly blush labeled as #22 ‘Blood Peach’ – a very fitting name. I wasn’t experienced with a product like this, but I just had to try it out because it was just so interesting and I love some “weird” beauty! This is a translucent red jelly product, of course featuring that same sun imprint. This one is harder in the pan and you only need a tiny bit to apply so the imprinted details on the face of this one will last longer.

And lastly we get to #23, labeled ‘Crystal’. And this is the one that seems to be limited edition and hard to find now and I’M SO SORRY. I get why it was, but I still want to document it here because it’s just STUNNING. It’s a split plan highlighter, with one side being a shimmery white highlight and the other shade being a very light green transparent jelly highlighter. The right side is a very similar feel to the ‘Blood Peach’ jelly above. You can use these separately or mix them together for a soft shimmery look.

You can start to get an idea of each of these formulas as they’re swatched out and built up on my skin. From my wrist down, we have the two sides of #23, with the shimmery white side of the highlighter followed by the green jelly side. Underneath it is the jelly blush shade, #22, and then we have our 2 full blush colors, in 20 and 21 (I’m so sorry that I switched number order for only the last ones).

Now for the formulas! I’ve had these products for quite a while now and used them a lot so I can give you quick little reviews!

We’ll start with the highlighter, #23, and the the top two swatches. As you can see you can really build it up for a brightened look, or blended out it just really melts into the skin and gives such a lovely glow anywhere you want it. Even with a more built up application, I found it was still smoother and wasn’t too thick – you would absolutely have to dig into the product to get too much onto the skin. It feels more balmy overall, but it still has that pigment and that gorgeous shimmer throughout it. Then beneath the shimmery white, we have the other side of the highlighter with the clear green jelly. You can see in the swatch, it’s absolutely not green, but instead just a clear balm on the skin. It will add a nice little sheen to the skin wherever you place it, and it won’t fully dry down staying more dewy. I go into it even more with the jelly blush below, but it’ll just be a balmy touch. And mixing it with the other side just adds even more shine to that overall application.

Now we go to the middle, glassy pink swatch, which is #22, the jelly blush. I was using quite a few swipes to get that more pinky wash, so be prepared for another more sheer, glossy finish. It is a hard product in the pan, so even though I’ve been calling it a jelly blush, it’s not going wiggle or feel like jello, instead almost feeling like a hard soap. Because of that, this is one you especially need to warm up with your fingers and it might take a little bit to even feel like you’re picking up anything from the pan. From there, you get more into that jelly formula but it’s not sticky and can almost feel like a thin gel between your fingers. It feels more balmy, even once applied, like Vaseline on your cheeks. It’s not going to be a highly pigmented finish – which you’ll see in the swatch. It’ll give you the slightest kiss of a reddish tint, but overall it’s about that shine. Glass skin is a huge trend in Asian beauty, so this isn’t about a bold pigmented blush look, it’s about adding a little life back to the cheeks. I don’t use it a ton, but it was such a fun product to try out. Just like that green highlighter above, it will stay a bit tacky on the cheeks. I didn’t find it picking up product underneath but it’s something to keep in mind with having your hair down.

Lastly, let’s talk about the blushes, and our bottom two swatches. 20 is that warmer pastel peach on the bottom while 21 is a lighter, almost pinky toned shade above it. These swatches are very built up so most often they’ll be worn at a lighter, more blended out finish. You might be able to tell from the photos and swatches but they’re a thicker cream, almost clay feeling at times. They’ll feel a little stiffer at first, but just like the jellies, they warm up between your fingers and your skin, and almost melt and blend out seamlessly on the skin. After they’re blended out, unlike the jellies they will dry down a powdery finish. On my fair skin they’re perfect as more subtle blushes, and I never worried about adding too much product. They layer well on each other, and didn’t ever feel cakey even with additional layers.

And those are the face products! I would absolutely pick up more shades of the blushes, as they’re such a lovely little formula to use, and I’m always here for more interesting highlighters.

Now onto the lippies! In total there are 10 lip products in this release, 6 lipsticks and 4 lip glosses. I do notice they tend to release a lot of lip shades with each collection and it’s often a good mix of neutrals as well as more fun colors. At the moment of writing this, the lipsticks are $16.29 each and the lipglosses are $16.92 each.

I picked up just one lipgloss and 2 lipsticks, and the outside package continues that peachy theme. We have that metallic gold sun peeking out on these boxes, with the lip gloss being with the more predominantly pink box and the two lipsticks being within the green boxes.

They’re all housed within cardboard packaging that neatly unfolds to show you the product like a cute little present. I was just too tickled by that.

Of course the internal components are just as cute. The two lipsticks are on the left, in a gradient tube that goes from metallic green to a gold. And then the lipgloss is in a slightly darker tube, with a silver top and a cute little peach print.

These are made of plastic but it is a thicker plastic, and it feels almost like a soft touch finish. The gold bases of the lipstick feel like plastic as well, but are still weightier and feel thicker and high quality. The silver top of the lip gloss is a true metal and feels weighty in the hand. They feel fancy without breaking the bank and I love the whole experience.

I did want to continue to note the details, with a cute little sun imprints on the bottom and top of the components.

Let’s start with the two lipsticks. On the left is L05, labeled ‘Waterfall Cave’ on YesStyle, and then on the right is L06 called ‘Night Feast’.

L05 is a warmer light brown with blue and pink scattered sparkles all throughout. L06 is a deeper rusty brown base with a coppery sparkle all throughout.

Now for the lip gloss. And yes, while there are neutral shades, I of course had to pick up the weird one. This is a deep forest green filled with a red scattered shimmer. It features a flat doe foot applicator. You can use the end for more precise application and then the flatter sides allow for a lot of pigment to be picked up and smoothed onto the lips.

And here they are swatched out! We have lipsticks L05 and then L06 followed by the lip gloss J813 in order.

The two lipsticks are a glossy formula (much like the Revlon Super Lustrous Shine Balms if you have experience with them). They’re definitely softer than I was expecting, and on first application I pressed too hard and gave myself a chunk of lipstick on my lips. So be careful, and let them warm up and almost melt onto your lips. When they’re first applied they’re at the most glossy and shiny, and as you wear them that shine will slowly fade away, ending with a more creamy sparkly finish that’s more like a balm than a gloss. They can be blended out for a more sheer, satin finish as well. Because they are a thicker glossy formula, they can be a touch sticky overall, but any sort of shiny balm will be on the lips.

For that lip gloss, you can see it is VERY pigmented, but it’s definitely a thicker formula overall. A darker pigmented lipgloss can be finicky and messy in general, so a lipliner can help keep it all contained. It’s very glossy if you’re putting on a full thicker layer, but if you blend it out you’ll get more of a satin finish and the sparkles will really contrast against that deep base. Again it’s going to be a touch more sticky, but still moisturizing on the lips. I really enjoyed this formula, and like the blushes I would absolutely pick up some more interesting colors!

And that’s the collection! I had been circling, lusting over Girlcult collections for a while and finally took the plunge, and let me say I’m now hooked. They are constantly releasing such gorgeous collections and innovative products, and I’ll definitely be reviewing more of their products.
