Yes, my dear readers, you are going to just be getting an absolute spree of blog posts in these next few weeks, and obviously I know you’re excited. If you didn’t see in my OPI Spring post, I noted how I was deep into destashing my entire life (okay, fine just my nail polish collection), and how that general disorder and disorganization had kept me from blogging – even before embarking on the massive cleanout. I’m one of those people who needs a clean and calm environment for my brain to also feel clean and calm and focused, so squeezing my hand into the tiniest little open spot on my desk to swatch and record videos was no longer sustainable. I may still have boxes of polishes in front of my closet waiting to be shipped to new homes, but they’re at least fully pulled and the polishes I actually want to keep fit into drawers and I have room on my desk again! We breathe of sigh of relief, and we go into this new phase feeling better already.

So I went through my collection and then I also got really into bullet journaling and plotting out every part of my life, so we’re working our way to a ROUTINE. As I adjust and catch up and create these new and improved workflows, you’ll get some spurts of bunched posts. Eventually I do hope to settle into a truly consistent and spaced out schedule, posting 3 times a week–with nail collection reviews on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and a makeup review on Sunday. You would think this shouldn’t be a new concept that I’m only now implementing, considering that I’ve been blogging for almost 10 years now, but it just shows how much I was flying by on vibes these past 9 years. Better late than never.

For those of you loyal subscribers who are reading all of these in order right as they publish, I’m so SORRY for my yapping so much at the beginning of each of these – it had built up from months of not posting and I just had to get it all out and explain my entire life to you all in these beginning posts. It IS what I do, I mean, look at any of my first posts of a new year. We shouldn’t be surprised either.

Alright, I’m done waxing poetic about my life, let’s get on into the review (I bolded that so anyone can scroll right to it amidst my ramblings, like a precious ‘Jump to Recipe’ button). I want 2025 to be the era of clearing out clutter, both in actual collections as well as the blog post backlog. While I’ll of course continue posting more recent collections, I have so many “older” polishes and collections (aka released within the last few years) that have been swatched up, posted on Instagram, and then lost into the grid. Instagram is great for showing newer releases in real time – but it’s lack of a search function on a profile makes it hard to go back and easily find specific shades – especially the farther back their post date. And that’s the main reason I started as well as kept up this blog! Instagram gives us the flash, but the blog is all about being a reference.

And the brand that I absolutely have the most backlog for is Glam Polish (which makes sense when I’m swatching a collection each month for them). While some of their polishes that I review might no longer be available, there are many that still are, so I want to become a Glam Polish Guide.

I’ve been lucky to swatch for them for a while, but if you’re new to the blog and unfamiliar with Glam Polish, they’re an indie brand that works out of Australia. Their collections are often inspired by and reference pop culture, whether it’s a newly released movie or TV show, or an iconic property we grew up with. Though they’re Australian based, they also have a US warehouse, making it so us USA babies don’t have to pay expensive international shipping fees. (I’m sure you’ve heard about our president actively trying to destroy the country and start trade wars with tariffs, so it’s nice to be able to get some pretty things through to distract us and keep us sane).

The collection we’re looking at in this post one is a newer released collections and debuted at the end of February 2025. It’s called the ‘Rocketman’ collection and features 6 shades of rich shifty shades of dense shimmer, all with names of famous space-themed songs. There’s one lighter color that breaks that deep color palette, but it still fits in, okay, I just wanted to give a nice one sentence description.

These are all available on the Glam Polish website as of posting. Alright, let’s get on into the shades!

***

We’re starting out with ‘Ground Control to Major Tom’ and I can promise that throughout these swatches, you’re going to get at least one song stuck into your head. This shade begins the set with a deep magenta jelly base filled with an iridescent shimmer and larger silver reflective glitters. Depending on different lighting and angles, this will shift from that magenta on over to a deeper berry shade and then to a warmer purple shade.

Because of the more dense shimmer, and the reflective glitters, this was a thicker formula than other Glam Polish shades, but I just found that made it easy to control on the nails and paint on for an opaque finish. I was able to easily cover the nails in just 2 coats, and I didn’t have any issues with drying time, even with a thicker application. It dries a touch sandy, which happens with reflective glitters as they’re larger overall, but a top coat will smooth it all out and really bring out that sparkle.

Now yes I will admit I forgot to take a flash photo for any of these swatches to show off those reflective glitters – I even forgot that the formulas contained them. If you’re unaware, reflective glitters are larger glitter pieces that’ll flash bright white in the correct lighting – especially in iPhone flashes, you’ll see them truly just glowing. However, I find they often only show in videos themselves, and with very specific lighting. I don’t mind them in a formula as they still add a sparkle, but just wanted to note it since it will be in the overall listings, and it can often contribute to a thicker, more textured formula.

I found most of these shades to have the same formula just in different combinations of colors and shimmers. Along those lines, this next shade, ‘Supersonic Rocket Ship’, is a deep blue jelly base filled with that iridescent shimmer and those same silver reflective glitters all throughout. The iridescent shimmers give flashes of pink and gold in this one, while the polish base itself shifts from that deeper teal all the way over to a forest green. It’s so dimensional, and even “at rest” you’ll get flashes of different colors all over your nails.

Yes, a similar formula to ‘Ground Control to Major Tom’, so it’s a touch thicker but easy to control on the nails. It built up easily with just 2 coats and I didn’t have issues with drying time. I’ve noticed in general Glam Polish shades dry more quickly than most polishes in general and these 6 were no exception. Again a tiny bit sandy with those reflective glitters, but a top coat will smooth it out.

Next up we have ‘Galactica’ and this one is a purpley-blue jelly base – which you’ll really see come through on that 1st coat – filled with that same iridescent shimmer and larger reflective glitters. This is one of the shiftiest of the group, going from that deeper blue with a golden flash, all the way over to a bright teal and back. I was mesmerized looking at my own nails with this one. I’m not familiar with polish ingredients, but I’m sure that there are a few different types of iridescent shimmers throughout these shades – this specific one is pulling from that bright yellow gold over to a bright teal.

Another easy 2 coat formula here that painted on smoothly and easily. It has a tiny bit of texture, which we’ll see with all of these shades that include the reflective glitters but a top coat will smooth it all out.

‘Walking on the Moon’ has another deep blue jelly base, but instead it’s pulling much cooler and more blue than the shade above. After that shift-fest above, this one is one of the least dimensional of the collection. It was a little harder to even see a change, and I think it’s more that iridescent shimmer changing, from a bright teal over to a deeper cooler blue.

This was another thicker formula, and it painted on smoothly to full opacity in just 2 coats. A touch sandy, but a top coat will smooth it on out.

We get to the last two shades and it’s a duo of purples. First up we have ‘Space Bound’ and it’s a warm-toned, deep purple jelly, again filled with iridescent shimmer and reflective glitters. This one has one of the most interesting shifts to it, going from that warm purple over to a grunge-y almost olive green-gray look and back to that same purple. The iridescent shimmer feels a little more subdued in this one, not giving a bright flash of contrasting color like the other ones. It wasn’t a shade I would expect, but of course I love any sort of more unique color.

You know the drill, this one had a thicker formula that made it easily opaque with just 2 coats. Top this one with a good top coat and you’ll smooth out any texture from those reflective glitters.

Last but certainly not least, we take a right turn into a whole different galaxy. This one is ‘We’ll Be Counting Stars’ and this one instead gives us a lavender base with a shifty multichrome shimmer and reflective glitters. This is another mesmerizing one, with that shimmer giving such a strong orange flash, that then shifts the entire polish a yellow-golden hue in certain angles. Another that gives you built in entertainment as you just sit watch your nails perform some magic at all different angles. It’s lighter overall, but it still feels fitting for this set – maybe I’m just saying that because I love the color so much.

Even with that lighter colored base, it had that same formula and was easily opaque in just 2 coats. I even said above that when I swatch up polishes with reflective glitters in the base, they will often get lost in the polish or are only visible in flash photos. But I’m noticing that these ones were more special, and glitters were popping and sparkling, even in my normal lighting. Now it’s not that magical white flash I mentioned above, but it adds some good sparkles, so I’m not made they’re included.

And that’s the set! As you might have picked up, I realllllly loved all of these. I just love a vampy bold look and all of these shades were just gorgeous and fit together so well. They had gorgeous shifts and that shimmer and sparkle makes them so special.

Each formula was easy to work with, and built up to full opacity with just 2 coats. I have no complaints here! Have you tried Glam Polish before? Are you now interested in any of these shades?

PR Disclosure: Though the shades in this post were sent to me, I was under no obligation to post from the brand. I never guarantee positive reviews, and all thoughts and opinions are my own. I review these shades thoroughly and in the same manner as I would with any polishes purchased with my own money.
