Sally Hansen x Peeps Insta-Dri 2023 Collection – Swatches & Review

Y’all know I love a themed collection, an unexpected collaboration, and a weird little texture. So if any of those things have your ears pricking up, keep on reading, and this collection will be for you.

Today we’re looking at the newest release in the Sally Hansen Insta-Dri line: a collaboration with Peeps, just right in time for the Easter holidays. If y’all aren’t familiar with Peeps, they’re a marshmallow company known for releasing chick and bunny shaped sugar covered marshmallows each year in the spring time – mostly for the Easter holiday. As a child I loved eating them (as they were just pure sugar) or microwaving them so they would inflate and blow up (it’s fun, I tell you).

Sally Hansen has collaborated with other candy brands before for their Insta-Dri line, such as Jelly Belly for jellybean themed polish, so honestly this collection and set made sense in my opinion. We have 7 shades here, 6 full color textured shades, and 1 topper. They all have the Peeps logo printed right onto the cap, and they’re named after the different shaped and colored marshmallow creatures they release. 6 of these shades also dry with a textured finish, just like a sugar coated marshmallow. I always love when a brand commits to a theme and of course, so I was very excited when I started seeing promo for them. (And I’m even more excited to see what they continue with in the future).

These are available from Ulta (although always beware their terrible polish shipping), or other drugstores like Walgreens and Walmart. Let’s get on into the swatches!

Sinful Colors x Saweetie ‘Made on Mars’ Halloween 2021 Collection – Swatches & Review

Alright listen, I absolutely love when brands put out a special Halloween collection, and I think there should be more every year. It’s when even mainstream brands aren’t afraid to experiment and bring out unique finishes and polishes, and there’s never enough of that. Gimme the weird. At least China Glaze always gets the memo, and most years, so does Sinful Colors. And it’s one of those years, we are blessed.

Y’all know how much I love Sinful Colors – they’ve been on this blog from the very BEGINNING, and I’m so glad we’re still here together 5 years later. I remember way back when I first started blogging, and the first Halloween release I picked up from them. It’s one I still love! They’re one that often puts out interesting finishes and themed collections all year round, but ESPECIALLY at Halloween time, and this group is no exception.

This is the ‘Made on Mars’ collection, and it features 4 space themed shades in collaboration with Saweetie. They’ve had quite a few collections with Saweetie this year, and this is their newest in creative finishes. This is 4 shimmery shades that dry to a more matte finish, as well with an interesting, bumpy, almost moon rock texture. They all have stickers that say “Extraterrestrial Effects” and they’re not wrong. These won’t be for everyone, but if you love some weird, keep on reading.

I grabbed these from Walmart’s website. They seem to be out of stock individually, but you can still buy the pack of 4 polishes + a sheet of alien themed nail stickers for under $10. I never feel badly about recommending an entire collection when it’s this affordable.

I, of course, included live swatches of each shade. These ones are super interesting as they apply much differently than you’ll think based on the final product, and the look in the bottle. It’s also the first instance I’ve seen of wide brushes on a Sinful Colors polish, and I hope that continues because it made application even better. Let’s dive on in already!

Sinful Colors Sporty Brights – Swatches & Review

Helllllo everyone! Everyone’s all fully aware of what’s happening in the world right now, and I have no better information than all of the medical professionals, so I don’t want to make this blog about it. I want to keep posting about nail polish since I know everyone needs a little escape from the madness around us! A little distraction from everything! And I mean, I’ll be working from home indefinitely right now, so I have a lot of extra time, so it’s the perfect way to spend it by catching up and putting out a lot of reviews and posts.

I know this post came a little later than planned – I definitely have had to adjust to my new schedule. I had too little structure, and needed to give myself a schedule and routine. Or maybe I just needed a little break from everything. Either way, I’m back in and excited again, and definitely want to get back to blogging regularly!

So alright, let’s talk about these beautiful polishes already, shall we? Because this is an exciting post. It’s exciting because it’s the first new Sinful Colors collection of the year!

If you’ve read my other posts about the brand, you’ll know that Sinful Colors was the first brand that I really started my blog on! And ever since 2016 when I started this blog, I’ve collected every release that has come out. They’ll always have a sentimental place in my heart, and forever a place on this blog, so I’m always so excited when I have new shades to talk about!

This collection here is called the ‘Sporty Brights’ collection. It features 8 bright shades all with a “sneaker like texture” which means they dry down more satin-matte with a bumpy and rubbery finish. It’s not super textured, so it won’t be catching on anything, but of course, you’ll definitely notice it. It’ll just be lil bumps, like rubbing a tennis shoe. Sinful Colors is always releasing such interesting finishes, and this is no exception.

I was sent my collection by the lovely ladies in the Sinfully Polished group as always – they always have my back with these Walmart exclusive collections (who would have thought I would miss large Walmarts living in Chicago!). As mentioned, these are available in Walmart and Target stores (I know that’s definitely hard to get to right now). There are 5 shades available on Target’s website, and Walmart has them available to pick up as well. One of the shades, Track $tar, is a Walmart exclusive.

Now let’s get into the swatches!

Essie Concrete Glitters Collection

Hey, look at me posting a review of a collection when it’s still pretty relevant! It’s a Christmas miracle! But really, I want to get all caught up with holiday collections and everything, and then I might actually be ahead of the game for spring releases (but I digress, that’s way too far to think forward). WE’RE STILL ON THE HOLIDAYS, NO SPRING HERE. There’s lots of holiday posts on the way – because you know, we’re still ahead of the holidays.

Not quite actual holiday themed, but we have some fun sparkles to talk about now. This is the Essie Concrete Glitters collection, and Essie released it in between the fall and winter collections. I do love these for this time of year, they’re soft and sparkly, and just remind of sparkly snow (which we have none of here, but I won’t complain about THAT).

This is a 6 piece collection of textured, sparkly polishes. I actually picked these up as a set on eBay before they were listed on other sites, but they’re up now on Ulta’s website, as well as transdesign.com (a site I order from quite a lot! They have super fast shipping and cheaper prices).
