It’s been storming here lately so much, and I’ve been LOVING it. It’s perfect for staying inside, listening to the rain hit the window, and swatching like a mad man. I got a lot of photos taken this weekend of products, so I’m testing out so many things, and I can’t wait to review them all for you.
In this post, I’m talking about a duo from Nails Inc! If you’re at all involved in the polish world like I am, you’ll have seen these duos popping up and being talked about all over. And after I saw the two polishes in this one, I knew I had to pick up this one to try first.
These retail for $15 for the two polishes – a deal considering one is normally $15 on its own. And you can buy them through Sephora, so you can get the points through there if you have them. They have quite a few duos out, but this was the one I wanted to test out first. Let’s get on into the post!
This is the ‘Self Made Mermaid’ Duo, and has 2 more shimmery blue shades.
Just like with Butter London polishes, the silver cap pops off so you have a more manageable little cap to hold the brush with. So don’t worry, you don’t have to attempt to paint with that big square cap.
This first absolute beauty is ‘Mermaid Parade’. Seeing this one was the push that made me buy the duo at all. Just look how absolutely stunning.
This is a bright pearly blue shade, and I don’t even know how to fully describe it, just let the picture do the talking. This is truly a mermaid polish. They did it.
And for being this light beauty, the formula wasn’t bad at all. If you’re not in super bright lights and close up lenses like I was, this could honestly be good on 2 easy coats. You might have some nail line, so if that doesn’t bother you, you’re set.
If it does, an easy 3rd coat will even it out.
Another picture, because I can’t stop looking at it.
The other half of the duo is ‘Ocean Ever After’. Another perfect mermaid color.
This is a stunning shimmery blue with gorgeous green-gold sparkle. Just like shimmering water. This had another beautiful formula. You can almost get this opaque in 1 thicker coat – although it’ll want to flood the cuticles a little. It can be a little tougher to clean up because it’s so shimmery, but it’s worth all the work. 2 thinner coats and you’re golden.
Both of these polishes are just so beautiful. It looks like a sunset over the ocean. Do I love nail polish too much? Maybe. But look how pretty.
Overall these were so pretty! Maybe I’m biased but I can’t get over the colors. This was my first duo from Nails Inc, and I think I’m hooked now. They have so many other duos on their website, I’m going to have to check out more!
You can buy the duos either directly off Nails Inc’s website (which I did) or off of Sephora’s website! Have you tried any of these duos?
I’ve got the China Glaze Spring 2018 collection is coming up next, and I’m testing out the Wet N Wild Flights of Fancy collection, and then it’s onto the summer collections! Lots coming up!
