Sinful Colors ‘Boho Beat’ Collection

Well, it’s been a while. I’ve missed you all. I feel weird not posting in so long. But you know, life got busy. I’ve got a full time job + freelancing on the side, besides this blog, so sometimes the posts just don’t happen. But I miss it! I missed posting, and I hate not posting regularly. So here we go, prepare for all the posts. I’ve got a lot to make up for.

So here we’re starting with a little small one. This might be a little old news, but these are still beautiful polishes, and there’s a chance you can still find them out at a Walgreens or a Rite Aid (or have a lovely person send them to you when you don’t have a Rite Aid anywhere near you).

This is a small little collection from Sinful Colors, called ‘Boho Beat’. It’s made up of 3 new shades. (There’s more Sinful collections on the way as well).

We only got 3 polishes to swatch here, so let’s just get right into it!

These names goes right along with the festival theme that every makeup and nail company has been hitting this summer. And as a person who goes to festivals and participates in all the crazy colors, I’m here for it.

Up first, ‘Sunglasses at Night’ is a bright blue cream shade. This was opaque in 1 thick easy coat.

The formula was so beautiful and smooth, it makes up for the fact that it stains on removal like a bish. Lord. I literally had to stop swatching for a little bit with my smurf fingers after wearing this. So be careful on that removal.

Up next is ‘We’re In Tents’. This is a dark forest green base with beautiful silver shimmer all throughout. This could be opaque in 1 thicker coat. The formula was thicker, so super easy to control a thicker coat on the nail without it flooding the cuticles.

The shimmer is beautiful and just pops in the dark base. It reminded me of their Stoned Crystal Shimmer finish, but with smaller flakes and shimmer.

And last, we have ‘Sundown Getdown’, a bright orange red cream shade with bright pink shimmer. This had a good 1st coat, but still some visible nail line left. That was covered with a 2nd thicker coat. As you can see in the photo, there’s a slight hint of nail line still, but that’s only in super bright lights and close ups. In everyday life, you’ll be fine.

The shimmer is a little subtle in pictures, it’s a little more obvious in person, but still not as vibrant as it is in the bottle, so that’s a little disappointing. But it still gives a beautiful depth and sparkle that I couldn’t be too mad.

Overall, a lovely 3 shades that pairs nicely with their ‘Indie Soul’ collection released at the same time (see that collection here).

I, of course, loved getting these, as its part of me collecting and reviewing all the Sinful Colors collections. These are a nice little grouping – though the colors remind me almost of late summer and fall. But I love all the different finishes, and each had a wonderful formula. If you see one that struck your fancy, I wouldn’t hesitate to pick it up!

It’s only the beginning of lots of posts to make up for my absence! Lots of collections and new makeup on my desk that I’m working through like a madman. It’s calmed down a little over here, so my schedule is better and I’ll be posting more! Stay tuned!

  1. That blue shade would be so fun on the toes. Also, “Sunglasses at Night” is a great polish name!
“We’re In Tents” is so unusual – I don’t recall seeing silver glitters in dark green before.

  2. I’m a little sad that SC has not done a follow-up collection to the Crystal Shimmers from last year (probably one of my favorite finishes ever) but We’re In-Tents makes up for that… GORGEOUS!

Sunglasses at Night is super beautiful, 100% agree with Stashy on the pedicure because that would be WOW. That song is now going to be stuck in my head for the next 10 years, though 😛

    • Those polishes are still one of my absolute favorites as well! We can only hope they follow it up someday … And yes, not as big of flakes, but it still had that contrast and I LOVED IT!
And I know right, I couldn’t stop singing it as I swatched it!
