Listen, I fully planned on having this up earlier, and then the Sims 4 was on sale for only $6 and suddenly it was 7pm and I had done nothing else. That game is dangerous, let me tell you. My Sim is way more productive than me, I want her focus. How does she just sit down and write an entire book without moving for 7 hours, I need to know.
Yes, I am an adult woman who just turned 25, and this is my winter break and I’ll spend it how I want. I do promise there will be actual work and productivity had over my mini-vacation.
Now! We’re looking at the last holiday collection I have to review! Wild to think that the holiday collections are already passed, and then spring collections are already being shown and previewed! The nail polish world moves fast I tell you.
But I’m getting ahead of myself, we still have this holiday collection to talk about. This is the Twinkling collection from Zoya for Holiday 2019! It features 12 shades, as usual, and has a variety of creams, a couple shimmers, and a couple more interesting finishes. I ordered this off of the Zoya website when their trios were half off! So I basically got the whole collection for half off the normal price which is always my favorite thing. Zoya is always doing promotions – and they teased a special sale for December 26th, so if any of these shades appeal to you, there will an opportunity to get them discounted very soon!
Now let’s get into the swatches!
Up first, we have ‘Enza’. This is a light, warm-toned nude cream. This was almost opaque in just 1 coat, but with the ridges I have on my nails, it wasn’t quite as smooth. So I did end up doing a 2nd coat, and it really smoothed everything out. Overall a beautiful formula.
I don’t know how much I love this color on my skin, just since it’s so warm toned and I’m so pink, but it’s a beautiful formula overall.

***
Up next is a more cool-toned nude that fits my skin tone just a little better. This is ‘Steph’ and it’s a light pinky-toned nude cream. Again, I used 2 coats for this formula just to smooth over and cover up the ridges on my nails, but you can almost get this opaque in just 1 coat.
This formula is absolutely lovely, and even if you do thicker coats, it’s so easy to control and won’t flood the cuticles. It’s the typical Zoya cream formula that is so fantastic and that I love.

***
‘Mai’ is a warm, berry-toned mauve cream. Again, this can be opaque in just 1 easy thicker coat. It’s got that same formula that won’t flood even with thicker coats, and it’s so smooth on the nails.
Spoiler, you’re going to hear that a lot for this collection because basically all of the cream formulas are amazing. I’m so happy to report that wonderful Zoya cream formula is all throughout this collection.

***
Now we have one of the first shimmery, non-cream shades in the collection. This is ‘Rosa’ and it’s a super bright shimmery fuchsia. This could be good on just 1 coat, though I did end up doing 2 coats here. I found it did brighten up even more with a 2nd coat. There are some brushstrokes, since it is a shimmery polish, but as you can see most level out as the polish dries.
I honestly wasn’t sure how much I would love this color, but once on my nails it was so glowy and beautiful. Who couldn’t love this?

***
Now we have this lovely cream shade. This is ‘Tanya’ and it’s a bright cherry red cream. This was another beautiful color and another stunning formula. It was fully opaque in just 1 coat, and I have no complaints at all. It’s so juicy on the nails, and perfect for the holidays. If you need a classic red cream in your collection, this will definitely be a great addition.
***
Now onto the shade I was most excited about. This is ‘Sedona’ and it’s a beautiful deep burgundy base with a stunning red-orange shimmer all throughout. It’s vampy, yet sparkly, and everything I love in a polish.
This had another stunning formula and was easily opaque in 1 thicker coat. Again, so easy to control that thicker coats won’t flood the cuticles at all.
Ugh, just look at it, with that sparkle. It pops against the dark base, and here I am gushing again. Truly a favorite.
***
I really enjoyed how Zoya played with different finishes in this collection, and here’s a great example of that. This is ‘Alessia’ and it’s a lovely bright blue foil shade. There’s so much shimmer and sparkle in this, it just glitters on the nails. Another that can be opaque in 1 thicker coat, though for this one I did prefer 2 thinner coats. I found it can be a little uneven and goopy on the nails with thicker coats, and the shimmer lays down better with thinner ones.
But they were 2 very easy coats, and the result is sparkly goodness on your nails. Definitely a more unique polish to add to my collection.

***
Another favorite from this collection is this deep royal sparkly blue. This is ‘Jen’ and she’s a deep cobalt blue with blue shimmer all throughout. Another with an easy formula, you can get this opaque with 1 thicker coat or 2 thinner coats built up.
I was so glad the sparkle in this one was evident on the nails and wasn’t lost outside the bottle. It looks like a lovely night sky, with a more subtle shift that just gives it some depth. Another I’ll love adding to my collection.
***
‘Gabi’ is a deep purple cream shade. This was another one of Zoya’s amazing cream formulas, and was opaque in just 1 thicker coat or 2 thinner ones. It just floated onto the nails and felt like spreading butter. So easy!

***
I’m a sucker for any sort of gray nail shade, so of course I was so ready to get this one onto my nails. This is ‘Tieren’ and it’s a lovely medium gray cream. Another stunning formula, just 1 coat and so easy on the nails. I have nothing else to say because I’m just so blown away by the formulas in this collection. You won’t be disappointed by any of them!

Now we’re into the 2 more unique polishes that Zoya put into this collection (I’m always here for some experimentation!).
Up first, we have ‘Jett’. This is a sparkly silver base with larger silver flakies all throughout. This is quite an interesting one, and I know not everyone’s going to like this one, especially as it dries with a more satin-matte finish.
This did build up with 2 coats easily and was pretty easy to apply. It had a good 1st coat, but did still have some patches that I needed the 2nd coat for. I found if you’re applying thicker coats, you will get more of a build up and dense application of the large flakies. They distribute well, and you don’t need to fish out for them.

And like I said, it dries with a satin-matte finish. This does make the polish dry quickly in between coats, so those 2 coats do go quickly. Like I said, I know not everyone will like it, but I liked this one on the nails more than I thought I would! The flakes don’t get as bumpy or uneven as other polishes can get, and is smooth on the nails. I don’t care what others say, I like this weird polish.

***
And last but certainly not least, we have our other stand out polish. This is ‘Kaede’ and it’s a clear base with tons of golden shimmer as well as these larger silver iridescent flakies. This was 3 coats built up, so it can definitely be a polish look on its own. The flakes are easy to pick up and spread on the nails, and create a wild sparkly look.

You can see that the look on my middle nail is definitely built up with more flakies than the other nails, and because of that it was a little thicker and goopier on the nail. I do recommend doing more thinner coats of the nails, as I found my middle nail was still squishy and not fully dry for a while after I applied it. It’s definitely a little bumpier after it dries, with all of the different flakes, so a coat of top coat can smooth it out.

And then I show it as a topper as well, with 1 coat over ‘Sedona’. As you can see there are also some smaller golden flakes in there as well, so it adds all sorts of dimension and intrigue to any shade it’s added on top of.
Definitely so fun and I ended up loving it! So unique and I have nothing else like it in my collection.

And that’s the Twinkling collection! We have some beautiful cream shades, with all of them having absolutely stunning formulas. You won’t be disappointed if you pick up any of these, if the color is right up your alley.
There were also some beautiful shimmers, like ‘Sedona’ and ‘Jen’, as well as ‘Alessia’ the foil. And then we had the 2 shades that might divide everyone, ‘Jett’ and ‘Kaede’. I loved them both, but obviously it’ll depend on your preferences!
Overall, all of the formulas were so smooth and easy to work with that I can recommend any of the polishes in this collection! I had no complaints, and anyone would be happy with any color. It’ll all depend on your preferences for colors and finishes.

Deep blues will always get me, and when they have the blue shimmer as well, just 😍Jett definitely can take some growing on you, but I was so in love! It’s even better in person!

I feel like Zoya pulled off with Jett what OPI was trying to do a few years ago with that one space-themed collection and failed. I really like how Jett looks, but I am also a sucker for shard glitters and flakes. Whatever is in that polish looks a lot chunkier than normal flakes, love it!

OMG YES, that’s definitely it! I was so afraid it was just going to be a weird chunky mess that got lost on the nail, just like that other one! I get nervous when shards are placed in an opaque polish, but somehow Zoya did it! I hope they continue experimenting like this!

Same here, it feels like several of the collections this year have thrown maybe one or two polishes out there that are just a little different and I think we are all the better for it!

Another comment that got swept behind for some reason. But yes, I loved that mainstream brands are trying something new and unique, and I can only hope this experimentation continues! Especially for us polish addicts, we’re always looking for something more!

Haha, it’s all good, I tend to fall behind on blog posts and then comment a ton, so I don’t mind at all if you don’t get around to replying :]
