OPI Hidden Prism Infinite Shine Review
Continuing right along with my post catch-up! I fully believe in me to finally get all of these posts up, I’M DETERMINED. LET’S GET INTO IT. (If you haven’t seen other posts, I definitely got a little bit behind, and ended up taking a break with the companion posts to swatches I post on Instagram. Even if its out of season, I still want to post up these reviews, so here we go! And as mentioned, I’m still always posting swatches on my Instagram, so be sure to follow me there, @GingerlyPolished. For full transparency I’m currently writing this on November 14, but adjusted the date so they’re spaced out in the order posted on Instagram, and so November doesn’t get overwhelmed with summer posts, ALRIGHT OKAY I’M DONE).

We’re looking at the other half of the OPI Summer 2020 release. They released 6 shades in both their Infinite Shine finish, as well as in their regular lacquer formula. I linked the Infinite Shine review up above, so now we’re looking at the 6 regular lacquer shades!
As always I purchased these bad boys off of polishpick.com, and they’re still available there.
This part of the collection features 6 shade of different colored, more sheer bases with glitter throughout. They have an almost flakie look to them, without having larger glitters. Overall they all have pretty similar formulas, so you’ll see that reflected in the notes for each shades. A couple are more sheer than others, and of course I noted that in the individual shades!
Alright, it’s been long enough without this post, let’s just get into it already!
********
Up first we have ‘She’s a Prismaniac’, the pink version with blue-purple shimmer all throughout. This had a sheer 1st coat but it’s smooth, so it could be a nice 1 coat nail look depending on your preferences. Most of these shades can be worn in that way as well!
It builds up well with 2 thicker coats, but you could still have some nail line peeking through, so I did a 3rd coat to fully cover everything up.

Continuing on in rainbow order, we have ‘Magic Hour’. This is a more orange-yellow base with a bright red shimmer to it. This one feels a touch thicker in formula than ‘She’s a Prismaniac’ above, but it’s still going to be a more sheer formula. I still did 3 thin coats here, and it’s fully opaque.

***
‘Ray-diance’ is the most sheer of the shades, which is very obvious by my watches. This is a light yellow base with red-orange shimmer to it. This is 3 coats built up, and as you can see there’s still a ton of nail line showing through, so this will definitely be a love or hate shade for people!

It’ll depend on whether you like sheer polishes or not, it adds a lovely shine to the nails for a “your nails but better” look, but I do wish it was more full color! I don’t love sheer polishes, so this isn’t a favorite.

***
Continuing right along, we have ‘Gleam On’. Gleam On is a green base with green shimmer all throughout. Like the others, this builds up well in 2 coats, but I added a 3rd to fully cover any last nail line.

Alright this one I like a lot. Mainly because it’s green, but that finish is just doing it for me on this one! Definitely unique to my collection.

‘Pigment of My Imagination’ is the icy blue version with blue and purple shimmer all throughout. This is 2nd most sheer of the collection. As you can see I built up 3 coats, and I still had nail line peeking through. So just like ‘Ray-diance’, this will be up to your preferences.

It’s still a fun, almost ethereal look on the nails, but as mentioned it’ll depend if you like more sheer polishes or not! I’m just here to show what they look like, you’re the one who will decide if you want to buy it.

***
Last up we have ‘Rainbows A Go Go’. This is a bright purple base with bright red-orange glitters. This one built up easily in the 3 coats and was fully opaque! It has the same formula as others above, so nothing else to add on this swatch.

***
And that’s the collection! Overall, it’s one that’ll depend on your own preferences! Some of the shades are more sheer than others, but they mainly have the same formula and build up in 3 coats. The finish at the end might not be for everyone, but of course, I always appreciate when a mainstream brand tries out a different finish! ‘Ray-diance’ and ‘Pigment of My Imagination’ weren’t my favorites just because of the more sheer formula, but I did enjoy the other shades!
Do any of them catch your eye?
