Slow and steady, we’re slowly catching up on my backlog of blog posts! I’ve mentioned this in other posts, but for some reason I definitely got behind on blogging, and just needed a break from it, which I took for a couple months! But now I’m feeling motivated again, and posting! I know some of these collections are “older”, and we’re well into the next season but I did still want to post these reviews, especially for brands that keep shades around. I’m writing this post actually in December, but I adjusted the date to when swatches went up on my Instagram – to keep them spaced out and not overwhelm anyone reading the blog! (And of course, I know people would be more interested in winter collections, so I want the current season to be the most recent posts on the blog). ALRIGHT ENOUGH BACKSTORY.
Today we’re looking at the Zoya release for Fall 2020! Zoya keeps around the shades released in their collections as individuals (you might just have to search the shade name, or scroll through the library to find them). And they fully advertise at least 2 collections at a time, so there’s no need to rush out and buy this collection immediately. This post is to help you decide for whenever you choose to grab some of the shades!
This is the Luscious collection, and as usual is made up of 12 shades. We have creams, we have some foils, some shimmers and one gorgeous shifty beauty! These retail for $10 each on the Zoya website – though I did grab them on a 50% off sale. (I always recommend following brands on their Instagrams, or through their newsletters to get information about sales. I’ve been able to grab all of their seasonal collections this year on some sort of deal!)
We have a lot of shades to look through, so let’s get right into the swatches!
Starting us off we have ‘Lisa’. This is a deeper cool-toned raspberry red cream. This had a super smooth 1st coat. The color deepens up with a 2nd coat to match the bottle, and it’s fully opaque.

***
‘Soleil’ is the first of the shimmery foils. This is a a bright coppery base with tons of silver glitter all throughout. This had a lovely formula and was almost opaque in just 1 coat. The 2nd coat smooths it out even more, and it’s fully opaque.

This shade almost glows on the nail and it’s so lovely! A beautiful shade for the fall.

***
‘Tasha’ is the next foiled shade. This is a deep cool-toned brown base with silver and copper glitter all throughout. Another easy formula that could be opaque in just 1 thicker coat! Super smooth and so nice on the nails!

Both of these foils had such lovely formulas, and they were really autumn in a bottle.

Now we have a couple cream shades up next!
‘Mel’ is a deep olive-toned green shade. Zoya really delivers on this one with an absolutely BEAUTIFUL formula. Seriously, just opaque in 1 thicker coat and it’s so smooth on the nail. It’s super easy to control, so a thicker coat won’t flood the cuticles either. Another color that I love in the fall time!

***
‘Tommy’ is a light, dusty pale blue shade. It had some streaks on the 1st coat, which I can expect with a lighter shade like this. But it’s fully opaque with just a 2nd coat. Listen, I love any sort of muted shade like this, I’ve just loved like every color I know that, its FINE.

‘Lou’ is a deeper cool-toned blue with a touch of gray to it. Another incredible shade, this is the Zoya cream formula that I absolutely love! It was opaque in just 1 coat, like not even a thicker coat, just 1 regular coat. It practically paints itself onto the nails.

Now we switch over to some shimmers! We have lots going on in this collection.
‘Wanda’ is a light bubblegum pink base with tons of golden shimmer to it. It had a smooth 1st coat, though it did have some nail line peeking through. It does build up well in 2 coats, and depending on your preferences could be good there. I ended up adding a 3rd since I still had a touch of nail line peeking through, and it did continue to build up the base color with that 3rd coat.

This reminds me of a perfect shade for spring as well.

Wanda’s cooler-toned cousin of the collection is ‘Patrice’. This is a soft blush-toned shade with the same golden shimmer. It has some nail line peeking through after 1 coat, but it’s smooth, and with the color it would make a lovely “1 coat sheer nail look”. It does build up to fully opaque with a 2nd coat.

It’s a good neutral with a lil’ something extra.

***
‘Terese’ is a deep berry purple shade with brighter pink shimmer. It’s more subtle and fine than the shimmer throughout ‘Wanda’ and ‘Patrice’ above.
This had a more squishy formula than the other creams, like it had just a drop of jelly-ness to the formula. So because of that the 1st coat was a little more uneven. But a 2nd coat easily covered and made it fully opaque.

I do wish that shimmer was just a little more apparent on the nails, it does get a little lost.

***
‘Sharon’ is a deep, berry purple cream shade. This was smooth, but again a touch more sheer than I was expecting for such a deep shade like this, so it feels not quite opaque after that 1st coat. Adding a 2nd coat deepens up the color to match the bottle, and makes it fully smooth overall.

***
The last cream of the collection is ‘Bentley’. This is a super deep, warm-toned purple shade. This could be opaque in just 1 thicker coat, though I do recommend thinner coats, as it can pool a touch at the end of the nail. So an easy 2 coats, with that 2nd coat deepening up the shade to match the rich one in the bottle. A lovely vampy shade for all of the fall and winter.

***
And last, but certainly not least, we have ‘Andrea’. And we CERTAINLY saved the best for last here!
Andrea is a deeper, navy blue base with an intense bright purple shimmer/shift to it. And it had a fabulous formula to match it, with it being opaque in just 1 thicker coat. Or 2 thinner coats overall.

I mean, come ON, look at how beautiful it is! I give this one the title of “if you only grab one from this collection, make it this one”.

***
And that’s the collection! Zoya usually has pretty solid formulas overall, and this one was no exception! There were only a few shades that needed more than 2 coats, and some of the creams in this were just absolutely beautiful. If any of these shades caught your fancy, they would be great additions to add to your collection!
