Did you say you wanted more spring collections? No? TOO BAD, WE HAVE MORE SPRING COLLECTIONS. Tis’ really the season, and I always love the “start” of a new year of polish. And as always, I’m writing about spring as it snows outside, we love the Midwest. But at least today it’s cute snow, it’s fluffy snowflakes lazily falling, it’s so nice to sit inside and watch. And write about polish.
Anyways, this next one is the Essie release for Spring 2021. This is 6 shades, featuring 3 creams and 3 more shimmery shades. I picked this up from my one true love, PolishPick.com aka forever the best places for me to grab mainstream polishes. This color story is definitely a more unique one for spring, and we have some “nontraditional” colors. I loved the different range of colors we have here, and of course there are only so many pastels that can be done!
So let’s get right into the swatches!
Up first we have ‘Get Oasis’. This is a light, almost beige-toned cream base with a bright orangey-red shimmer to it. It had a streaky 1st coat, which as always is expected with light, almost white shades like this. It builds up well with a 2nd coat, and I added a 3rd to fully cover any last patches from the ridges in my nails.

I do wish the shimmer was a -touch- more apparent on the nails, but of course that’s a little bit of nitpicking. It does add a slight pink tone to the shade.

‘Cacti on the Prize’ was one I was very excited for, because of course I’m always excited for these putty, olive green shades. And this had a lovely formula as well, two easy and smooth coats and no issues.

Now for two more shimmers.
‘Retreat Yourself’ a peachy-pink cream base with golden-orange shimmer all throughout. There is definitely some more coral-orange tones to it, but it pulls way more pink on my nails than anything. Another smooth and easy 2 coat formula here, and I love the way the shimmer pops in this one. It gives it a gorgeous glow on the nails.

‘Light as Linen’ is a soft milk chocolate brown cream base with that same golden-orange shimmer. It had a sheer but smooth 1st coat, and builds up well in 2 easy coats. Another 2 coat formula and no complaints here, I love the color on the nails!

And lastly, we have 2 cream shades. First up is ‘Infinity Cool’, a deep navy blue cream. And this had an absolutely STUNNING formula, opaque in just 1 smooth coat and it practically paints itself on. I loved this deeper, rich shade and it’s lovely all around.

Last up, we have another mustard yellow cream shade (it seems to be one of the shades of the season)! This is ‘You Know the Espadrille’, and it’s a rich, saturated yellow cream shade. This definitely has some orange to it and leans Kraft Mac ‘n’ Cheese yellow, one of my favorites. It had some patches and ridges still after a first coat, but a 2nd coat easily covered and smoothed it all out. I really love these types of shades, and I just can’t get enough of them. So stunning!

And that’s the collection! It’s definitely an unexpected color palette for a spring collection – I’ve seen some people say it almost looks more fall-like! But overall I enjoy it, I enjoy something different and unique, and playing around with new color stories. And all of the shades were stunning here and had great formulas – with only ‘Get Oasis’ needing 3 coats. I enjoyed the shades, and I think you will too! Are any of the shades catching your eye?
