In every single Holo Taco review post I WILL talk about how I have an abundance of other collections to still swatch and at the same time I WILL also continue to buy more collections!!! At this point this is who I am and I cannot will not change that. Well, maybe eventually this blog will have a beautiful library of Holo Taco collection posts, one can dream big.
Either way, a lot of these past collections that I’ll be eventually posting are still available on the Holo Taco site, or in instances like this specific set we’re looking at today, where it was a more limited edition collection, Holo Taco sometimes brings it back for another round, back “from the vault” near the end of the year. And at this very moment, this collection, beautiful box and all is back for sale for 2 more days (don’t come for me after November 8th). I can’t promise it’ll last that entire time, but what timing for me to get this post up! (Now this just might reward me for procrastinating, I don’t need that). It’s for these moments that I still want to get reviews up, even if they come after collection release, so they can eventually be a little archive to peruse through in cases of vault releases or destash finds. (If you’re in the highest tier of rewards you often get to vote on shades to bring back as well!)
ALRIGHT we only have so much time so let’s get into it already! This collection released in July 2026 for Holo Taco’s 7th Anniversary, celebrating when they first began all the way back in July of 2019 (we didn’t even know what was coming then). They always go all out for their Anniversary releases, and they’re always sets I like to especially buy while I’m busy buying every single collection. This year’s Anniversary theme is the ‘Jackpot’ set and it features 7 new polishes all within a casino inspired set. We get an absolutely gorgeous box and accessories in this set as well and it’s just all so fun and a great little release. Let’s get into the swatches!
***
It’s only fitting that we start out the collection with WINNINGS, with GOLD, in the form of the shade called ‘Sweeten the Pot’. This is a very bright, more yellow gold shade, though it can pull deeper into an almost olive toned brown gold metallic. It’s so very foiled as well and that microshimmer within it helps it really glow on the nails.

I’ve found this can be a little bit of shifty one, pulling even more yellow in the lower lighting and glowing even more on the nails.

This had a gorgeous formulas as well, being practically opaque in just 1 coat. With that microshimmer within it can dry with more visible brushstrokes, so I do recommend painting as straight as you can – which I did with a 2nd coat to smooth it all out and make it look presentable. Super lovely shade to start us out!

This collection also has two cute little toppers, so I’ll be popping those on top of the more opaque shades as I go. This first topper is the most themed to the whole idea of ‘Jackpot’ and it’s only fitting that it’s called ‘Winning Suit Taco’. (If you’re new to Holo Taco and wondering, taco came about with everyone mishearing the founder, Cristine, say “top coat” in her videos). This topper has a clear base filled with classic card pieces, in red diamonds and hearts and black clubs and spades. I have it as 1 coat here over ‘Sweeten the Pot’.

With any sort of topper like this, you’ll have to swirl your brush around within the bottle to pick up those larger pieces. I was able to grab quite a few with just my first coat (that could get harder as you use more of the polish is used and more base evaporates). From there if you’re looking to get very specific with placement, you can pop the glitter pieces onto a paper towel to drain the base and then pick up and place them on the nails with a toothpick. Otherwise I was able to just swipe with the brush itself and place the pieces onto my nails for a more scattered look. I thought this was such a cute little topper and I can see it being so fun when visiting Vegas.

We go back to bold color with ‘Velvet Room’ and this shade just feels luxurious and seductive, being a rich, deep shimmery metallic red.

In the application you can see this has more of a jelly base filled with a dense microshimmer. So while it is more pigmented on the first coat I still had a few places with nail showing through. But the 2nd coat comes in and really builds up that shimmer and shine and makes the polish absolutely beautiful on the nails. There are a few visible brushstrokes again with that brighter shimmer, so again I suggest painting as straight on the nails as you can. Or using a top coat can smooth it out as well.

We have the 2nd of 2 toppers next with ‘Winning Streak Taco’. This is a clear base featuring larger gold metallic glitters, gold holo glitters and golden flakes all throughout and I have it as 1 coat over ‘Velvet Room’. Looking at in the bottle I’m getting the visions of Scrooge McDuck diving and swimming in his piles of gold (is that too millennial of me)

This one picks up much more easily from the bottle because of the smaller sizes, and with just 1 coat it’ll be a more scattered look on the nails. If you add more coats or even sponge it on you can really get a chunky, glittery look overall. I did swipe a few times on the nail to distribute the pieces but overall it’s smooth and easy to paint on.

Now on into the final 3 shades. Up first is ‘Hit the Lights’ and it’s a navy blue jelly base filled with scattered gold glitters and gold reflective glitters.

My bright lights aren’t showing the glitters the best, but I promise they’re very scattered all throughout the polish and you can see it better in my swatch video. I always show what a polish looks like on its own without top coat in my swatches so you have the right expectations.

Because of the jelly base it’s a touch sheer and uneven on the first coat. The 2nd coat comes in and really builds up the color and helps bring out the contrast with those golden sparkles. You’ll mainly get the effect of the gold reflective glitters in an iPhone camera, they’re harder to see in real life, and they will give the formula a chunkier finish being a larger particle. A good clear top coat will smooth it out and really help to bring back those sparkles that can get lost as it dries.

If you want a polish with bigger and more obvious glitters, this next shade is for you. ‘All I Do is Sin’ (what I tell myself whenever I visit Vegas, even though I’m in bed by 10pm) is a black jelly base filled with scattered holographic and multicolored glitters. It’s perfectly extra, just like a sequined tuxedo.

Again being a jelly formula it will need layering up, as the first coat is sheer yet smooth. The base feels less pigmented than ‘Hit the Lights’ above, so I did prefer to use 3 coats to fully build up this shade. After that it’s still a little squishy and not a fully opaque black, but I enjoyed that look as it was even. This one can dry a touch more textured because of all of that glitter, so a good top coat will smooth it all out.

Last but certainly not least we have ‘Chandelier Showers’. This is a clear base that is absolutely jampacked with silver holographic shards and glitter pieces as well as a bright pink iridescent shimmer. It’s a chunky glitter but again it’s all about giving VEGAS.

And this one is SHIFTY. In lower lighting, the glitter becomes more multicolored and iridescent and gives it a super layered look on the nails.

As mentioned it’s a clear base filled with lots of glitters so 1-2 coats will give you a more scattered look with more of the nail peeking out. I chose to fully build this one up and see how opaque it could be, and it covered all of the nail well with 3 coats! At that point it doesn’t feel too goopy or chunky on the nails and any little shards can be smoothed down by a top coat.

Now I absolutely have to give kudos to this collection box. As I said above, Holo Taco will pull out all of the stops when it comes to an anniversary release and, I mean, who doesn’t love going all out to celebrate their birthday. The box itself is a large flatter box that is printed and foiled and embossed to look like a slot machine.

And the numbers SPIN, so of course I made it lucky 7’s for myself. The larger letters in Holo Taco, 7th Anniversary, and Jackpot are embossed and there are also raised holographic little bubbles all around giving it all the texture and detail.

Flipping open the cover, you get ‘You hit the holo jackpot’ on the inside with stacks of chips to further continue the theming.

And the luxury doesn’t stop there, just look at this presentation of the polishes and boxes themselves.

They come inside slots that are within a velvety textured red fuzzy inside – feeling just like a poker table. Each polish also comes within a new designed carton, having the card symbols all over it in a fun little pattern.

Continuing the fun, this collection box also comes with a Holo Taco themed deck of cards.

Within, most of the base cards are normal printings, but the face cards and joker feature unique illustrations of Cristine, the founder, and her partner Ben, on holographic backgrounds. I absolutely loved these and how they went the extra mile to add in a themed accessory.

They even feature a guest appearance of Holo Taco nail polish, as is only fitting.

And that’s the whole box and set! I think they went above and beyond with the theming, and of course I’m always biased when it’s gathered within a beautiful collection box. There’s a lot of glitz and glam in this set which is only fitting for a casino theme, and I had no issues with any of the formulas.
What do you think of this set? Did you pick anything up?
