Glam Polish ‘Pastel Galaxy’ Collection – Swatches & Review

PR SAMPLE

Another month, another Glam Polish release here! Listen, they’re just making sure your every single polish want ever is covered. And I’m here to swatch up some shades so you can narrow on down that cart. (Unless you’re financially able and want to buy every collection, then who am I to stop you). We’re here together, let’s look at some pretty polishes.

Today’s collection is the ‘Pastel Galaxy’ set. It features 6 polishes in a range of soft and delicate crelly bases, aka the “pastel”. We have some orchid pinks, some mint greens, and lovely lilac purples, as well as others that compliment oh so well. They’re also all filled with holographic shimmer as well as scattered holographic hexagon glitters which gives us the “galaxy” part.

As always these are available on the Glam Polish website, both in a little bundle and individually! Enough talking, let’s get on into the swatches!

Holo Taco ‘Cristmas Glitters’ Collection – Swatches & Review

Well Merry Christmas, or shall I say “Cristmas” everyone (that’ll be explained later)! Yes I know the date on this post says December 3rd, but I am in fact writing up on Christmas day (I change the dates on posts to match when the swatches were posted on Instagram, to keep them spread out and also in order). I’m here in Chicago on this Christmas day and the city is so empty and there’s just something so magical about that. I’m seeing my family before and after actual the actual holiday, so I’ve been enjoying my quiet day just getting up some blog posts finally.

And so fitting on this Christmas day to post up about these holiday glitters from Holo Taco! Yes, you read that right in the title, they’re the “Cristmas” glitters – without an H. Holo Taco’s founder, Cristine, spells her name without the H so it’s a fun little play on her name and spelling! Fun facts for you.

And more fun facts: these glitter polishes originally released last holiday season. I hemmed and hawed over them for far too long and then suddenly they were sold out and I missed out on them. But then a Cristmas miracle! They were re-released again for this holiday season and I didn’t wait this time and snatched them up (even though they’re still fully in stock).

This bundle features 6 super glittery and shimmery holo shades in some gorgeous holiday shades. They’re jelly bases that are just jam packed with sparkle and I was just so mesmerized by them. I wanted them with my little grabby hands. And if they’re catching your eye, as mentioned they’re still in stock on the Holo Taco website. Treat yourself for this holiday season.

Let’s get into these swatches!

Glam Polish ‘Charmed’ Collection Shades – Swatches & Review

PR SAMPLE

We have a new-to-me brand on the blog today! Glam Polish was so kind to reach out and see if I wanted to try out some of their polishes and I said yes! PR is great as it allows me to try out brands that might not have originally been on my radar – mainly due to budgeting. I can’t buy every single polish myself (and I already buy so many), so I fully appreciate being sent some shades to test out and give my thoughts on.

And as always, I give my same PR spiel to these brands before accepting – just because I was gifted these, I had no obligations to post, and I never promise positive reviews. I review them just the same as I would if I had bought them myself and to the same standards. It’s always my honest thoughts, and I would never give that up for you all!

Alright spiel over – let’s talk about these shades! These are from their collection inspired by the show Charmed. There are 10 shades total, and I have 5 of them here to show. You can purchase them off the Glam Polish website for $12.50 each.

Now I’ll admit, I’ve never watched Charmed (please forgive me) so I won’t know the full references of the names or how well they “fit”. But I can always just saw how they perform and how they look to me. Let’s get into the polishes!

China Glaze ‘Xtra Stellar’ Halloween 2021 – Swatches & Review

I’ve mentioned in other posts now, but I love a Halloween release. It’s when mainstream brands choose to take chances, and experiment with different colors and finishes! I always wish we just had even more brands join the Halloween train! Luckily, China Glaze is always here for us with a new and interesting release for the holiday.

This year’s release is the ‘Xtra Stellar’ collection, and features 6 alien-themed polishes. We have some duochromes, some shimmers, a holographic and a matte finish, and overall it makes for a fun group of shades.

And as always, y’all already know I grabbed these from polishpick.com. Still my favorite, and still such a great price.

Now, let’s let these colors speak for themselves and dive into the individual swatches!

Holo Taco ‘Electric Holos’ 2021 Collection – Swatches & Review

Ahh Holo Taco, my love. Holo Taco is one of those brands that if I had unlimited money, I would throw it at SimplyNailogical and buy every thing she releases. But alas, I don’t have unlimited funds – much because I buy so much other nail polish, okay. I’ll know I have made it when I can press ‘Add to Cart’ with no hesitancy, the dream.

Anyways, every so often, a new Holo Taco releases catches my eye so much that I find a way to squeeze it on into my polish purchasing for that month, and this release was one of them. This is the Holo Taco ‘Electric’ Holos collection. It features 5 linear holographic shades in bright and fun and unique shades, and there was just a bright lime green so I had to have it. It’s available on the Holo Taco website as a bundle or you can purchase the individual shades. Let’s get right into the swatches, shall we?

LA Colors ‘Diamond Crush’ Collection – Swatches & Review

LA Colors is creeping up on there as one of my favorite drugstore, and just overall, polish brands. They’ve been releasing such interesting collections and finishes lately, and I’m always watching for what they put out next! So when I saw posts about this collection, you already know I was ON IT. Okay, okay fine not EVERY collection they put out is amazing, and you’ll see that when I review their creamy neons coming up. But THIS collection is really good okay, and keeps me putting up with the one occasional dud.

This is the ‘Diamond Crush’ collection. It features 8 shades of polish with a more jelly like colored base and dense holographic glitter, giving it an overall scattered holographic finish. I snagged these off of the LA Colors website for $3, and I know they’re also available at Five Below stores.

These are stunning, so let’s just get right into these polishes!

Loud Lacquer ‘BABBs’ Holo Collection – Swatches & Review

Hello from the future again! I joke, but really I’m writing this from March 2021 as I finish up the last few posts just sitting in my backlog! Since these polishes are still available, I still want to get the posts up because yada yada yada lessons about still just finishing something even if it feels late. It’s really about just being able to fully cross of this box on my list, and who doesn’t love that.

Anyways, let’s just look at this collection, shall we? This is a new collection from Loud Lacquer, a smaller indie brand. This is the BABBs Holo collection, featuring 5 shades with a scattered and linear holographic finish. BABBs stands for “Bad Ass Boss Bitch” and you know, I feel that, I’m here for that. Feeling like a bad ass lady as I sit here blogging, influencing with my words. Okay, that might be too much, but you get the vibe.

These aren’t available as individual singles until later when Loud does another “catalog drop” but the full bundle of 5 polishes is still available for $60 on the Loud website.

Let’s get right into the swatches!

Color Club ‘Halo Jewels’ Collection – Swatches & Review

Y’all have heard me sing the praises of Color Club a lot recently, especially this past year. I’ve just fallen in love with them, and I think they’re highly underrated! They definitely release a lot of collections in a year, so I understand it can feel a little overwhelming, but I’ve been enjoying the different themes and finishes they’ve been coming out with. And of course, I’m here to post reviews to help make any decisions easier! Their collections are never limited edition, and are always available on their website after releasing, so you never need to hurry and rush and grab a polish before it’s gone.

Now, I don’t like to pay full price for polish when I don’t have to (that definitely helps me buy so many), and I always say for Color Club you rarely have to do that. Follow their Instagram page, or sign up for their email list – they have so many sales throughout the year, you won’t ever have to wait too long for a 40%-50% sale to grab up some new polishes. (And as mentioned, their shades won’t disappear, so you don’t have to worry about missing out on them while waiting for a sale).

So in my last purchase during a sale, I grabbed 2 of their newest collections! Today we’re looking at the ‘Halo Jewels’ collection. This is 6 shades of more jewel-toned linear holographic shades. I mean, they’re so beautiful, I knew I wanted them as soon as they posted pictures of them.

These shades retail for $12 each on the Color Club website, more than their normal price of $8.50 since they are holographic polishes. I picked these up during a 50% off sale, so I paid $6 each. I also highly recommend signing up for the rewards on their website! You get points for each purchase, and can earn $5 and $10 rewards pretty easily. We love deals around here.

Alright enough about savings, let’s get into the swatches!

Revlon Holochrome Collection – Swatches & Review

If you read my 2020 goals post, you’ll know one of my biggest goals this year is going through my collection and destashing. I got too many polishes and I KNOW IT. And part of that destashing is going back to older collections I purchased and swatching them and seeing if I still want them at all. So there are definitely going to be some more “throwback” collection posts and reviews. I know it’ll be helpful to me to sift through and know the polish I own, but also to you in case you happen to run across these shades later!

The first collection in this series is this one, the Revlon Holochrome collection. These released in late 2017, and I snatched them all up when I saw them discounted at Walgreens. And then they just sat around in my collection until I glimpsed them again in my drawers and realized I never put them on my nails. It’s time they finally see the light and I see how I like them.

Now they may be harder to find, but I’ve seen them lurking at various drugstore such as Walmart and Walgreens, so you may be able to still snag any shades that catch your eye. They’re showing as being priced around $5.50 each.

I know they got some mixed reactions when they first came out – Revlon promised intense holographic and duochromes and chrome finish – I will say right away, that you’re not going to quite get that with these. Spoilers. BUT, I don’t think they can be entirely tossed away. I’ll let you see the swatches and decide.

Essie ‘Gorge-ous Geodes’ Collection

You know, sometimes you plan on being productive and getting some posts done after you get home from another weekend trip, and then sometimes you fall asleep on your couch right when you sit down. We’re all trying our best here. I’ll actually be home this weekend, so as always I’ll be swatching up a storm to get some fall collections up and reviewed.

But first we have a couple collections that are falling right in between summer and fall, and are just too stunning to let go by. Mainly Essie collections, because they’re just released a boatload this year. I’m not complaining.

This is the Essie ‘Gorge-ous Geodes’ collection, and it features 6 neutral holographic shades.

I grabbed these from 8ty8beauty.com. I’ve found they always get new Essie collections the quickest, and I wanted to make sure I snagged these. They’re still showing in stock on their website. I grabbed em all up as soon as they were available, since I didn’t want to risk missing out on these. As I always say with any mainstream holographic shade, I snatch it up so fast. I need to have them all, and I hope mainstream brands keep putting them out. These caused a storm when they released, and they’re still making waves. I’ve been waiting so long to put em on my fingers, and it’s finally THEIR TIME. LET’S GET INTO IT.
