LA Colors is creeping up on there as one of my favorite drugstore, and just overall, polish brands. They’ve been releasing such interesting collections and finishes lately, and I’m always watching for what they put out next! So when I saw posts about this collection, you already know I was ON IT. Okay, okay fine not EVERY collection they put out is amazing, and you’ll see that when I review their creamy neons coming up. But THIS collection is really good okay, and keeps me putting up with the one occasional dud.
This is the ‘Diamond Crush’ collection. It features 8 shades of polish with a more jelly like colored base and dense holographic glitter, giving it an overall scattered holographic finish. I snagged these off of the LA Colors website for $3, and I know they’re also available at Five Below stores.
These are stunning, so let’s just get right into these polishes!
I know there can be a touch of a learning curve with the LA Colors brush. It’s a short cap, with a shorter, wider brush. So it can be a little awkward at first to paint on – but I was still able to get relatively easy coats with these shades.
These shades also do dry a touch textured, like a light sandpaper, because of the bigger glitters in it, but a good coat of top coat will help smooth that out. (If you have the Zoya PixieDust shades, or any sort of other textured polish, you’ll know what I mean). I built all of these up in 3 coats though some of the bases are more pigmented as others – which I noted in the individual swatches.

Up first we have ‘Fairy Wink’, with a lighter pink base. This had a smooth 1st coat, and I was able to build it up in 2 coats – though I did 3 here for the photo. And I mean, the photos speak for themselves – I have nothing else to add but just look how beautiful they are.

‘Ruby Glass’ is a deeper red base. It had more of a jelly feel to the base so it was a touch smoother to paint on than the previous shade. Still an easy 2 coats to fully build up the color and make it opaque, though I did 3 here for the photo.

***
‘Shooting Star’ features a lighter, platinum gold base. And since the base is lighter in color, it did take a touch more to build up the color – but it was fully opaque in 3 coats.

***
‘Aurora Sky’ is absolutely one of my favorites of the bunch because look at that color! It’s like a gorgeous sparkling sea! This is a bright saturated teal base. The base is more pigmented, so it’s an easy 2 coats to fully opaque.

***
‘Prism’ is another absolute favorite, I just love the sparkle with the deeper, richer colors. Again, the base of this one is more pigmented so it’s opaque in just 2 coats. Though I did notice the color continuing to deepen a touch more with a 3rd – I’ve used 3 coats here in the photo – so it’ll just depend on your preferences!

The lighter, almost more silver-toned purple shade is ‘Mermaid Mist’. This one is a light, cool-toned lilac base. Just like the platinum gold above, since it’s a lighter base, I did use 3 coats to fully build this up to opaque.

***
‘Flashing Lights’ is the pure silver, disco ball shade that this collection wouldn’t be complete without! Perfect for New Years and other glitzy events, or you know, your weekly zoom calls. I found this base to be a touch more clear, so I built this up with 3 coats.

***
And our last shade, with a black base, is ‘Constellation’. A fitting name, as all of the sparkle really does look like glittering stars on a night sky. So beautiful! Again, a deeper color so a more pigmented base, so just an easy 2 coats here.

***
And that’s the collection! I absolutely loved all of these shades, and they really didn’t hold back with the absolute boatload of sparkle! I loved the finish on all of these shades, and am so glad to add them to my collection! If you’re looking for any sort of glitz and glam on the nails, these shades are it, and I can’t wait to see what LA Colors releases in the future!
