PR SAMPLE
Y’ALL, that label in the corner isn’t lying, yes I’m now officially on the PR list for ORLY. I believed in myself and reached out to sell myself, and they liked what they saw and have been sending over their products! This is a lesson to believe in yourself, and make the first move every so often. Sorry just had to talk about that because I was so excited and proud of myself.
NOW. Y’all also know the drill, the spiel if you will. Just because I’m now receiving these products for free will not change how I’m reviewing them. You can look back on this blog over the years and see that I purchased these Orly collections myself for YEARS. And if they had said no, I would still be purchasing them to review myself. If I hated a formula, and it was so hard to work with? I would absolutely still tell you. You would be able to SEE it in the videos, those aren’t ever edited to improve formulas, they won’t lie. Overall PR just helps me out in the way of freeing up some more funds in my polish budget so I can review other brands for you all. I’ll still continue to buy so much polish on my own and I would never give up your trust in my reviews. Nothing’s changing there.
OKAY I’M DONE, THIS WAS THE FIRST BIG MAINSTREAM BRAND SENDING ME STUFF, we had to go over it all.
NOW. Let’s talk about this little collection, shall we?
This is the ‘Hopeless Romantic’ collection and it’s Orly’s spring release. It features the typical 6 bottle release, with 3 shimmers and 3 creams. The color palette overall has a nice whimsical spring feel to it, spanning from some blues and purples, over to the pinks, peaches and reds. These are available on the Orly website, and I do always recommend their Color Pass if you’re so interested in trying out some shades at a discounted price.
Alright, let’s get right in the swatches!
***
First up we’re looking at our 3 shimmers!
Starting those off, we have ‘Written in the Stars’, and it’s a gorgeous bright aqua blue dense shimmer. It just might have silver shimmer to it as well, really giving it a frosty, almost metallic shimmery look.
Since it is a dense shimmer in a clear base, it is a touch more sheer as you’re just packing and building that shimmer on up to fully cover the nails. But it’s smooth and I was able to get it opaque with 3 thin coats. I do suggest thinner coats, as I found these shades could be a touch more thin and run down the brush and almost flood the cuticles. Overall it’s just so sparkly and glittery on the nails and I really enjoyed it! Photos can’t do it full justice – imagine this beauty in the sun!

Next up we have ‘Serendipity’, and it’s the deeper, more cool-toned version of the blue above. It’s an almost purple toned medium blue dense shimmer with a bright pink flash to it – which you can see peeking out on the edges of my pinky nail especially.
Again, just like the previous shade, it’s a dense shimmer in a clear base so it is more sheer than you might be expecting with that 1st coat. But again, I was able to get it to full opacity with 3 thin coats and it’s smooth and lovely to paint on. Again, so shimmery and sparkly and so good.

Our last shimmer takes us away from those dense, larger particle formulas and over to a smoother look, a great transition between those shimmers and the upcoming creams. This is ‘Opposites Attract’, and it’s a medium blue-toned purple cream base filled with a bright aqua blue shimmer running through.
Again, this was a touch more sheer on the 1st coat than I was expecting, but it does allow that blue shimmer to really peek through the base color. I was able to get it opaque with a 2nd thicker coat, while adding a 3rd on other nails to cover any last patches and deepen up the base color more. So it’ll depend on your own nails and application whether you’re sticking with 2 or adding that 3rd coat.

Now we move into the 3 creams!
First up we have ‘Check Yes or No’ (I always check yes for a color like this). This one is a lovely almost purple toned pink shade. It’s not full pink, and if you place it near other pinks it’ll pull out that purple – and same goes for placing it near full purples, it’ll look more pink. It’s right in between and it’s so gorgeous and really feels like a spring shade.
The first coat is a touch sheer, with my nail ridges peeking through. But I was able to cover and smooth out any last patches and ridges with a 2nd coat and have it fully opaque. It was a nice, smooth formula, and so easy to paint on, especially with Orly’s wide, round brush.

Another perfect shade for the spring, next up we have ‘Meet Cute’. This one is a peachy pink, with the tiniest amount of orange to it. I love these in-between, more unique cream colors we’re seeing in this set. \
This formula was a touch more squishy than the one above, with some jelly feels to that cream base. Because of that, it’s more and sheer and uneven on the 1st coat. But a 2nd coat easily covers and evens everything out and really brings that brightness to the nails.

***
Last but certainly not least, we have ‘Oh Darling’. This is a bright cherry-tone red cream shade. There are definite blue tones to it, so if you’ve been looking for a cool-toned red, this is a great option.
And this one had a super nice formula! It was practically opaque in just 1 coat, and very smooth to paint on. However as I said for the shimmers above, these formulas feel thinner than others, so I found they could run down the brush and flood the nails – you can see it a bit in the live swatch – so I just recommend really making sure your brush is wiped off to give you the best control! Overall it’s still very workable and easy to paint on, and I didn’t find any staining on my skin like you can get with other red polishes.

And that’s the collection! I actually really love the look of these colors together and I think they’re perfect for a whimsical and romantic spring release. My one note was just about the thinness of the formula – they felt a tiny bit thinner than other Orly creams, but all that meant was just being sure to really wipe off the brush to avoid too much product. They’re still smooth and workable and great shades!

PR Disclosure: Though the shades in this post were sent to me, I was under no obligation to post from the brand. I never guarantee positive reviews, and all thoughts and opinions are my own. I review these shades thoroughly and in the same manner as I would with any polishes purchased with my own money.
I really love the creams in this collection. I’ll need to pick those up soon. The shimmers are pretty, but I just don’t gravitate towards those colors in a shimmer formula. Congrats on being added to the Orly PR list!

Definitely makes sense, and why I love nail polish, there’s a little something in there for everyone! These cream shades are so stunning and I love the colors.
And thank you so much!

Yay Congratulations to you! These shimmers look really pretty, I’d wear in summer too for pedicures. The live swatches that you put on Instagram are super helpful, plus fun to watch. Lastly, a red that doesn’t stain your skin, that’s what I need. I’m usually going outside the line and I wish they could all be like this.

Aw thank you so much! And yes might definitely have to try one or two on my toes in the warmer weather.
Glad to hear about the live swatches! They’re actually so calming to film as well, and I really enjoy them.
So true about the reds! They’re definitely hit or miss on the staining so truly a gem here!
