China Glaze ‘Chic Physique’ Collection

It’s been a little while! I was doing so well at keeping up a steady stream of reviews, and then of course life happens. I got busy during the week, and then my mom came down and visited! We finally saw Hamilton – the off broadway version, but it was still so good! I finally understand the hype and the show.

And so I’m finally finishing up the spring collection posts – it’s not summer until June 21st remember.

Rounding out the spring posts, I have the China Glaze ‘Chic Physique’ collection. This is of course a 12 piece collection, and reminded me constantly of how I should be out running while I was swatching it. Whoop, there are always other days.

You know, enough rambling, let’s just get right into it!

China Glaze ‘The Glam Finale’ Winter 2017 Collection

Another winter collection! I swear we’re almost done, but like I said, I’m still going to put these up and review them. Otherwise they would just sit in my collection and not get the love they deserve.

It’s still chilly enough duh, I can do what I want.

So let’s get onto this China Glaze collection. It’s called the ‘Glam Finale’ and it’s a typical 12 bottle collection. It’s full of bling and sparkle and perfect for breaking up those winter grays. 🙂 so let’s get into it.

China Glaze ‘Street Regal’ Fall 2017 Collection

I’m in that weird phase with this collection, where it’s obviously not fall anymore, and it hasn’t been long enough to do a TBT post with this. So I’m just late and that’s fine.

I’m slowly working through the mound of nail polish that has to be swatched and reviewed in my drawers. I never meant to wait this long on a fall collection, but you know life happens. But I wanted to put it up anyways, because you know, it’s my blog and I can do what I want, and also I wasn’t going to let these beautiful colors sit around in my drawers unloved.

Now that I have this one up, I’m in a reasonable place with just having holiday collections to swatch through. It’s still winter, so I’m on my way. 2018 IS MY YEAR, I TELL YOU.

Anyways, let’s get this last fall collection done, shall we? This is called the ‘Street Regal’ collection, and features 12 shades, like any standard China Glaze collection. It’s full of elegant nudes, and lots of dark vampy shades, so you can feel like deadly royalty. I picked mine up from TransDesign.

Review: China Glaze ‘Happily Never After’ Halloween 2017

Happy Halloween 31st, y’all! I’ve been spending my evening hiding away from the neighborhood kids because there’s a lot of them, and I have absolutely no candy. Meanwhile, my adult Halloween festivities took place on Saturday.

Did you have any fun plans for Halloween?

And what’s better for Halloween than a Halloween collection review? That’s right, I finally have the Halloween collection from China Glaze! This collection is making quite a buzz in the nail community, and now that I have it I understand why.

Long story short, all the formulas are really nice. So let’s just get right into it.

Review: China Glaze ‘Summer Reign’ Summer 2017 Collection

Good lord, how is it almost September already? Well, I always say September is the perfect time to review summer collections, right? heh

I finally am getting around to reviewing summer collections (thank you new job and spending money once again), so look out for the Essie and Orly summer collections coming soon!

But today I have the China Glaze collection from summer 2017. As always, this is a 12 bottle collection, and I purchased mine off transdesign.com.

Let’s just get right into the swatches because there’s a lot of them!

NOTD: China Glaze ‘Turned Up Turquoise’

I’m continuing with wearing polishes that I haven’t photographed yet! I put them all in a spreadsheet and by my count there’s currently 144. Yeah I have a lot to go, but that’s great for everyone because NAIL SWATCHES FOR DAYS.

Today I have a China Glaze polish. This is ‘Turned Up Turquoise’, a bright neon, well, turquoise.

This dries matte, so fast dry times, but it can also be a little difficult to work with. My favorite way to apply mattes is to load up the brush a little more, and do a little thicker coat. Then just swipe it on with a few brush strokes – manipulate it as little as possible or else you’re get streaks everywhere.

This was 3 coats for me, but it was just so bright and fun. Adding a top coat to it will really bring out the shimmer in it, but I left it matte here.

One terrible thing about matte finishes though: they chip in about 6 minutes. Something to remember.

Stay tuned for more NOTDs and reviews coming up!

China Glaze ‘Spring Fling’ Spring 2017 Collection

It’s been a hot second since I’ve posted (I feel like I say this in every post. Someday I’ll get my life together). But, I graduate college in two weeks. When did that happen? It’s 2 weeks exactly from today! I get all overwhelmed thinking about it.

So my life has been consumed with finishing portfolios and applying for jobs. I have to be an adult soon and I’m not ready.

Let’s just talk about this. Today I have a nail polish review! Look out! I’m still slugging my way through the spring collections. It’s not summer until June in my book. So bring on spring!

Today I have the full China Glaze spring collection. This is called the ‘Spring Fling’ collection and it’s a 12 bottle collection. China Glaze (and OPI) are going to be the real reason I go broke with these 12 bottle collections lemme tell you.

I bought mine off transdesign.com – that website is really why I can afford this addiction, do wholeheartedly recommend.

This post is going to be very photo heavy – with 12 colors and comparisons at the end, there’s a lot that has to be shown. So let’s get right into it!

Comparison: ‘Pearl Jammin’ vs. ‘Oh My Majesty’

I have a comparison post today! Spoiler alert: it’s clear right away that these two polishes are not a dupe for each other at all. But they had the same red flash of shimmers that at first quick glance made me put them both next to each other.

Today I’m comparing China Glaze’s ‘Pearl Jammin” from their Rebel Fall 2016 collection and OPI’s ‘Oh My Majesty’ from their Alice Through the Looking Glass collection.

After all of my fruitless searching for ‘Pearl Jammin” I finally saw it on Amazon and jumped at it, as I knew I had to have it in my grabby hands. And I finally have it painted on my grabby hands, and I’m never taking it off. This shade is so beautiful, buy it immediately if you see it.

Anyways, onto the comparison! ‘Pearl Jammin” is on my pointer and ring fingers, and ‘Oh My Majesty’ is on my middle and pinky fingers!

pearljamminohmymajesty

As you can see, ‘Pearl Jammin” is much more blue-toned while ‘Oh My Majesty’ is obviously more of a white pearly color. But as you can see they both have that beautiful red-orange flash in them. It’s a little more pronounced in ‘Pearl Jammin” but still stunning in both.

So obviously not dupes, or not even as close as I thought they would be on first glance. But just a comparison for reference!

Do you have either shade?

Swatch/Review: China Glaze ‘Rebel’ Collection – Fall 2016

Hey-o, it’s been a while since I’ve posted, but this is my first post with actual nail swatches! Look at me pretending to be a grown-up blogger.

BRING ON FALL, I SAY.

I’m fully ready to not be sweating constantly with every activity I do. Is that too much to ask.

Anywho, to at least pretend that fall is fully upon us, I have 8 of the 12 shades from the China Glaze ‘Rebel’ Fall 2016 collection!

I’m not going to lie, before this, I only had 1 other China Glaze polish. So far I had really just stuck to OPI. I’m sorry that I have sinned, as I have seen why I was wrong.

This was also my first time ordering polish from TransDesign. Each bottle was only $3.25 for the full size! And everything came in tact, and very well packed, so I’m definitely going to be ordering from them again for sure!

Alright, let’s get into the collection.
