I will admit, I fell a little behind on my comparison posts. With all the traveling I’ve done these past two months, they fell a little by the wayside in favor of actual collection posts. But every time I get back into pulling comparisons, I love it. And I’m surprised by dupes I find within my collections.
So don’t you worry, even if they happen to fall behind, they’ll never completely leave. THEY’RE TOO DANG HELPFUL AT THIS POINT.
Now I do want to point out, of course, I don’t do comparisons for every single collection. For ones that I know are completely unique finishes and won’t have dupes, like the Essie Glazed Days and Gorge-ous Geodes for example, I won’t do a comparison post. I know I won’t have anything like it in my collection, so there’s no need. Only if there are ones with similar finishes that will actually be worth comparing will I pull them.
We got a couple all cream-finish collections coming up, so there will be lots of comparisons on the way! Let’s get into it already.
We’re looking at the Zoya Sensual collection for Fall 2019 today! I had 7 shades from this collection that I pulled comparisons for. The others I didn’t find anything close.
I’m going full fall today, everyone. I’m finishing up this post this morning, and then later today heading out with my friends to go apple picking and corn maze-ing for a full day of AUTUMN. I can’t wait, and I’m so excited. I missed out on some more “traditional” fall activities last year, so I can’t wait to fully enjoy the season. It’s finally chilly and I feel my power returning with every sweater I put on.
And of course, let’s continue talking about fall polishes! Up today we’re talking about the China Glaze collection for Fall 2019. This is the ‘Gone West’ collection, and it contains 8 polishes. (I’ve been loving China Glaze’s smaller collections lately, it’s definitely easier to knock out 8 swatches in a night than 12).
I picked these up from polishpick.com, my favorite place for OPIs and China Glaze. (If you do order from there, there’s a dropdown to put in my name! It helps me get discounts on all of the polishes I buy to review! But no pressure, and don’t feel obligated. I don’t get any compensation from it besides a slight blogging discount).
You know how I said I had a couple days off and I’ll be at my parents house and can’t wait to have all this time to spend on blogging? Well, she did not have all this time to spend on blogging. I can’t be mad, I’ve been busy seeing family and helping out with my cousin’s wedding yesterday! It was so much fun, and I’m so glad she asked me to be in it.
I’m finally back in Chicago, and ready to catch up on swatching and posting! After a lovely train delay of 2.5 hours and then falling asleep in my chair once I finally got home, I’ve got a Starbucks Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew (I get the love for these now) and I’m ready and LET’S DO IT.
Since I mentioned pumpkin, y’all know that means MORE FALL COLLECTIONS. Today we’re looking at the new fall collection from Sista Chic Lacquer. This is ‘The Legend of Lizzie Borden’ collection and it’s a 5 piece collection based on TRUE CRIME. NAIL POLISH AND TRUE CRIME, TWO OF MY LOVES. What more could I need. (There’s supposed to be a movie coming out with a more fictionalized version of this story coming out with Chloe Sevigny and Kristen Stewart and I need that like yesterday).
The polishes will be released TOMORROW, OCTOBER 1st, on the Sista Chic Lacquer website! They’ll be $10 each, except for the holo polish which will be $12. And as always, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to Project Rescue, an organization who supports women and children rescued from sex trafficking.
I’m currently on ‘vacation’! I’m home to my parents house for my cousin’s wedding this weekend, and I have a lovely 3 days of just doing nothing before and after the wedding planned ahead of me. I think I’m more excited to have time to just sit down and catch up on blog posts than anything. I know right, a pretty exciting vacation. But sometimes the best ones are where you can just disconnect and catch up on life! Vacation is about relaxing, right?
And of course, I’m catching up and working through a constant stack of polish and makeup that’s on my desk. We’re slowly making our way through fall collections, and there’s only a few more to look at after this! Then we’ll get Halloween collections, which I also love so much.
But getting ahead of myself, let’s talk about today’s review! We’re looking at the Orly Dreamscape collection for Fall 2019! I’ve had this box sitting on my desk for a little bit, just waiting for me to open up the goodness inside.
As always, it’s a 6 piece collection. It features soft neutrals and moody cool-tones that I think will be perfect for the cooler weather. Let’s get into it already!
I don’t know if you’ve read or realized yet, but I love fall. The deep vampy colors of polish and makeup are my FAVORITE. I’m a pale girl so these deep shades make me look even paler and witchier, and I’m ready to let my gothy inner self out. WHICH THIS COLLECTION REALLY LETS ME DO.
This post took a little longer than planned, as I had a freelance project come in that I holed up in my apartment all weekend for, and I still haven’t fully figured out how to pre-plan and have posts saved up like a good blogger. This blog will always just be a hobby, and my “real job” will always come first (I’m a graphic designer), so I’m glad you guys are always patient!
This is OPI collection for Fall 2019 based on Scotland. So there are fun puns and fun facts about Scotland ahead, prepare yourself. We have the 12 polishes from the collection, and then 2 exclusive shades. As always I grabbed these from polishpick.com (If you ever buy from polishpick.com, there’s a dropdown where you can put my name in as a referral! It’s not an affiliate code, but does still help to show where people are coming from!)
We got a lot of nail polishes to talk about today, so let’s just start talking already.
I can’t believe it’s almost September already, where has the time gone! Of course, I’m not that sad as I’m so dang excited for Fall. Fall is my favorite season of all, and I’m ready to no longer be sweating all the time. I’ve lived in the Midwest all my life, so the colorful and changing leaves are always incredible and beautiful, and JUST GIMME FALL.
And today, we’re looking at the first of the fall collections I have to review. Fall is also my favorite for nail polish and makeup, as I’m a sucker for deep, vampy and jewel-toned collections.
The first one up is the ‘Sensual’ collection from Zoya! This is their typical 12 piece collection, and features some neutrals, some berries and deep vampy blues and purples. It contains 9 cream shades and 3 shimmer/metallic shades.
