Sinful Colors ‘Essenchills’ Collection – Swatches & Review

If you’ve been here since the very beginning, I’m talking the VERY beginning, you’ll know that I started this blog on a foundation of reviewing Sinful Color releases. Back then I didn’t even do nail swatches – my first few posts features up close photos of the polishes on a swatch wheel. I went from using random patches of sunlight through my bedroom window, to a desk lamp, to a lightbox. And through all of these upgrades and updates, there have been Sinful Colors collections!

So I was so excited when they dropped 2 new full collections this year! We have the Essenchills in this post, and coming up next, we’ll look at the Sheer Mattes collection. No matter what I’m always so excited to see what they’re releasing, and of course I’ll get my hands on it to show you all!

As mentioned, this is the Essenchills collection! As mentioned on the Sinful Colors website “Create omazing nails with Essenchills, the Zen and on trend assortment of aromatic nail polishes inspired by the chillest self care rituals like bath salts and incense—because we all deserve time to relax and pamper ourselves”. So there you have it, we have 9 shades based on various self care items, from lavender, to matcha, to himalayan pink salt. And each shade is scented like the item it’s based on.

8 of the shades can be found on Amazon, through Target and various other grocery stores, as well as Walmart. (I even found them at Jewel-Osco, which is the larger grocery store chain here in Illinois, so peruse while you’re getting groceries). Now, one of these shades, So Matcha Better, is a Walmart exclusive, and is available only through that retailer. Sinful Colors likes to do this and really just make me work to hunt down that one shade, and they KNOW I’LL DO IT EVERY TIME. Anyways, I got the 8 shades from my local Target, and a lovely polish pal sent me the last shade! They have a more permanent location on the Target and Walmart shelves so it seems like these are either fully permanent to the line or at least sticking around for a while!

Each shade retails for $2-$3 depending on the retailer – they’re $2.39 on Target’s website. Always so affordable!

Alright enough talking, let’s get right into the swatches already!

Essie ‘Keep You Posted’ Collection – Swatches & Review

Essie is continuing on with releasing 19 collections a year, and I’m doing my best to keep them all straight for you! I saw some random posts about these after people had been finding them at Target, and just loved the shades, so I grabbed them with a Target gift card!

This is the ‘Keep You Posted’ collection, with a cute little travel theme. It’s a Target exclusive release, though Essie said it’s coming to the EU at some point as well (which makes sense, since they’re all European themed nails). They also have little postage stamp designs on the caps. Essie hasn’t posted too much about them, but they’re available at Targets now in more permanent displays, as well as online for anywhere from $9-$10 each.

So let’s get right into the swatches!

LA Colors ‘Diamond Crush’ Collection – Swatches & Review

LA Colors is creeping up on there as one of my favorite drugstore, and just overall, polish brands. They’ve been releasing such interesting collections and finishes lately, and I’m always watching for what they put out next! So when I saw posts about this collection, you already know I was ON IT. Okay, okay fine not EVERY collection they put out is amazing, and you’ll see that when I review their creamy neons coming up. But THIS collection is really good okay, and keeps me putting up with the one occasional dud.

This is the ‘Diamond Crush’ collection. It features 8 shades of polish with a more jelly like colored base and dense holographic glitter, giving it an overall scattered holographic finish. I snagged these off of the LA Colors website for $3, and I know they’re also available at Five Below stores.

These are stunning, so let’s just get right into these polishes!

Color Club ‘Parisian Garden’ Spring 2021 Collection – Swatches & Review

Happy first day of Spring everyone! The sun is shining, and I’m soaking in all of the daylight, by taking a 2 hour nap this morning after I got back from an 8am dentist appointment. Listen, I may be 26 but I’m not full adult yet, and I won’t apologize alright. But I can still enjoy this sunlight and warmer temperatures while I’m inside blogging. Talking about nail polish is great for every season.

I’ve mentioned it in all of my other reviews as well, but Color Club is quickly becoming one of my favorite brands, and I’m just slowly transforming this blog into a Color Club fan page if that’s alright with you. I just consistently love their collections, and they’re always dropping creative themed color stories! Overall, it’s just always fun and I’m always looking out for what they’re releasing next.

I grabbed this set off of their website during a 50% off sale! As I always say, they’re always running sales, so definitely follow their Instagram, or their email newsletter to be notified of the next deal! Otherwise, they retail for $8.50 each.

Today’s collection that we’re looking at is the Parisian Garden collection! I believe this is technically their Spring 2021 release, but Color Club releases so many collections throughout the year so they’re not always on the “traditional” seasonal schedule like other brands. But this collection is definitely very fitting for spring. It’s an 8 piece collection, with some light, almost pastel tones, and richer greens and blues. Super fun, and let’s just get right into the swatches!

Sally Hansen x Mentos Shades – Swatches & Review

Sally Hansen is continuing with their creative collabs, and this time it’s with Mentos! Listen, I can’t tell you the last time I had a Mento, but that will never stop me from buying the latest release in these cute little themed collections, alright. Sally Hansen, keep doing what you’re doing here. And if you say this is “out of left field”, you haven’t been paying attention to their previous Insta-dri collaborations. They’ve done multiple rounds of releases with Crayola, Jelly Belly, Sour Patch Kids, and now Mentos. I can’t wait to see what other brands are partnered with in the future.

There are 8 total shades in the collection. I only grabbed the 3 more unique shades, and left behind the 5 cream shades because I’m practicing some sort of -self control-. Yes, I exercise control in 1 out of the 79 collections I buy a year, but it’s all about the small victories, alright. Anyways, I feel like these are the 3 shades people will be most interested in as well, so you know, let’s just talk about them already! The 5 shades I left behind are ‘Confection Perfection’, a light pink cream; ‘Mint to Be’, a grass green cream; ‘Orange You a Peach’, a creamsicle orange cream; ‘Peppermint Dandy’, a bright blue cream; and ‘You’re the Zest’, a light daisy cream shade.

I found these at Walgreens, though they’re also available from the Walgreens website, as well as Ulta beauty’s website. They retail for around $5.59 each.

Now onto the swatches!

Pacifica Beauty ‘Plant Magic Polish’ Shades – Swatches & Review

PR SAMPLE

I have a very exciting post for you all today! I buy 98% of the polish I review on this blog, so when a company chooses to send me polishes to try, I’m always so honored! It makes me feel like they value my photos and reviews, and it allows me to show you polishes and brands that I might not try on my own because of budgetary reasons! So when Pacifica reached out to me about sending over their new and improved polish line, I was so excited! I had been eyeing these shades after seeing their release, but hadn’t bitten the bullet yet, so this worked out perfectly!

I am so grateful to Pacifica to sending these over to me to try! Of course I always tell you all when something has been provided in PR, but I always want to give my disclaimer that just because I received these doesn’t mean I’ll review them any different! I say to the companies themselves before they send over polishes that I never guarantee a positive review and I’ll be giving the polishes a fair and honest try in the way I do for every single other polish. I would never take money in exchange for biased reviews. I pride myself in the honesty in this blog, and my readers trust, and I would never change that!

Alright now that I’ve said my spiel, let’s talk about these polishes!

Pacifica Beauty has re-released their nail polish, replacing up to 80% of their formula with “ingredients that are bio-sourced, originating from renewable vegetable biomass”. They are 16-free as well! They have 3 different “lines” within the Plant Magic polish release, and I have at least one shade of each to show today! These are available at Ulta Beauty, or on Pacifica’s website, and they retail from $10-$12 each. Let’s get right into the swatches!

Zoya ‘Darling’ Spring 2021 Collection – Swatches & Review

HAPPY DAYLIGHT SAVINGS, EVERYONE. We’ve all lost an hour of our lives, how we all doing here. I’m truly feeling it as I’m trying to be productive, and it’s already 1pm. Although I could say that happens on any other Sunday so maybe I’m just looking for a scapegoat here. ANYWAYS, all that matters is that I’m being productive and getting you blog posts, right? Alright enough rambling, let’s get into it.

You thought I was done with the spring collections, right? Well that’s obviously WRONG, we’ve still got more to look at! Today we’re looking at one of the final releases I have, and that’s Zoya’s offering for Spring 2021. This is the ‘Darling’ collection and features 6 cream shades. I grabbed this collection on the Zoya website when they were running a promo where I got 6 wide brushes, as well as 2 additional polish shades with the box set. It also came in one of their fancy white boxes so I got to pretend I received this in PR for a little bit, and that was nice. The collection retails for $60, or $10 each for individual polishes.

Let’s get right into the swatches!

China Glaze ‘Cali Dreams’ Spring 2021 Collection – Swatches & Review

We’ve had a little tease of 3 days of 60 degree weather and I was THRIVING. I had my windows open, I could hear birds chirping, feel a lovely breeze, I remembered why I enjoy spring so much. And then that ended and we’re back down to 40s and I miss the warmth already, the TRAGEDY of being in the midwest. It’s that false spring that gets you every time.

So let’s look at some more lovely spring collections to take our feelings off of it, shall we?

This is the ‘Cali Dreams’ collection and it’s China Glaze’s release for Spring 2021. It features 8 cream shades in shades of orange, peach, coral and blue! I love the theme with the orange and blue together, and they really look so lovely together. It’s a perfect sunny and warm collection when the weather got a little cool again.

As always, I grabbed this from my main love, polishpick.com. These are gorgeous colors, so let’s get into the swatches already!

***

Up first we have ‘I’m No Tourist’. This is a super light beige cream shade with some peachy undertones. It pulls warmer but it definitely has some pink to it as well on me. This did have a streaky 1st coat, but it builds up well in 2 coats. I added a 3rd to cover any last streaks from the ridges in my nails, but most people will be good with just 2 coats.
