Well HELLO there! You know what time it is. I think I say this every single time and every single season, but it’s the most exciting time of the year because we’re looking at A NEW OPI COLLECTION. Listen, I’ll say it straight out, OPI collections are always the most popular posts on my blog, so I know you’re all as excited about them as I am. And this one has a full range of bright summery colors that cover a whole shimmery rainbow.

This is the ‘Power of Hue’ collection for Summer 2022 from OPI. It’s our traditional 12 bottle release, and as always I grabbed this from my favorite nail polish supply shop, polishpick.com. Check it out and as always, let her know I sent you. Of course, we have a lot of shades to talk about, so really let’s just get right into it, you’ve been waiting for long enough. I’m not even rambling for once, I’m just letting the photos speak for themselves to bring you in, and then from there decide on individual formulas. ONTO THE SWATCHES.

What’s Up Nails ‘Geodes’ Collection – Swatches & Review

Look at her getting the matching blog post up right after the Insta posts! Who is she! I want to say expect this always, but that’s still a work in progress, but THAT’S THE GOAL. (For the people subscribed from my parents work who noticed I was behind on posts, this is for you. Tell them I say hi!)

Anyways, we have this gorgeous little set over here, and you’ll notice that little Press Sample label in the corner up top there!! Whats Up Nails so kindly sent on over their newest release for me to swatch and review for y’all! As always, I give my little spiel for PR posts (basically the same spiel I send to the companies before they send it over as well): even with a company sending products over for free I still test them in the exact same way as any other polish. I never guarantee positive reviews, so these are still all my honest thoughts! If a polish was bad, I would tell you – and I mean you would see it in the live swatches. PR is just nice as it allows me to show y’all even more polishes that I wouldn’t be able to fit into my polish budget. ALRIGHT, spiel done, let’s talk about the polishes.

This is the ‘Geodes’ collection and it features 6 shades: 2 creams, 2 duochromes and 2 “gem encrusted” shades. This set is available NOW on the Whats Up Beauty website – along with a matching eyeshadow palette! I love that idea, who doesn’t love to coordinate from eyes to nails. The shades are available individually, or in a somewhat discounted bundle.

Color Club ‘Hot and Heavy’ Collection – Swatches & Review

NEW COLOR CLUB, MY FAVORITE TIMES OF THE YEAR. They’ve got a deep ol’ hold on me, and every single time they’re releasing things, I’m there ready to buy ’em on up. And swatch them for you. I still think Color Club is criminally underrated so I will continue to shout about them from the rooftops until you all appreciate them as much as I do, okay. That might never happen but I’LL TRY.

I’m just getting right into it, no rambling today, let’s talk about the SHADES.

The newest drop from Color Club is their ‘Hot and Heavy’ collection, and as you can see, it features 6 polishes in basically every shade of red that you could ever need. It’s the greatest example of “THESE ARE ALL DIFFERENT, I SWEAR”. But they actually are, I mean look at them, you can see the differences.

See this is where I want my blog to be a helpful resource for you. Because in all promo photos and even the bottle shots on the website, all of these shades look so similar. But they’re DIFFERENT. And I can SHOW YOU THAT. This is the time where I try these out and swatch them and keep my swatch sticks in a very specific order so I don’t mix them up so I keep track of the shades for you. And then from there you can pick out the very specific red shade of your dreams you’ve been looking for.

I grabbed these off of the Color Club website, as always. And as always, I waited until a lovely little sale – be sure to follow their email or Instagram, as they are constantly having some sort of discount happening (at the point of typing this out, they have 30% off the entire site). Get that discount, baby.

Essie Spring 2022 Collection – Swatches & Review

She continues right on along with her little blog catch up. I’m tellin’ ya now, by SUMMER, she (yes I mean me) WILL be caught up and back on track with all of these blog posts. That means you’ll be getting so many thrown at you as I go on publishing sprees, but you act like you would hate that. All of the nail posts coming at you!

And the very essential starting point for the catch up: we gotta finish up these spring collection posts. After this we’ll only have Zoya to talk about (who notoriously releases their seasonal shades far after the others). That one will be coming along soon, just you wait. But now, in this post, we’re looking at the only other spring release left un-blogged from our pal Essie!

Now Essie has been on a spree of releasing like 16 collections a year – yes, I do have LOTS of Essie posts on the way to the blog. And among those 900 collections we still have the 4 seasonal releases. SO today we’re looking at their Spring 2022 collection!

This is a release of the typical 6 shades, all in a more muted, and neutral color palette. It’s a softer, quieter release for spring, and you know I’m not mad at it. There’s a spring collection for everyone out there. I grabbed these shades from Target, though they’re also available through Beyond Polish for a touch of a discount!

Glam Polish ‘Little Women’ Trio – Swatches & Review

Glam Polish has been so kind to send over their recent collections for me to try out and show to you all, and I’ve been so enjoying it! Of course, you know the drill, just because they’re sent over doesn’t mean I’ll automatically love them and it’s still all my own honest thoughts and you would see any bad formulas right in the live swatches. But as I ALSO always say, PR is great for me to be able to show you more brands and polishes than I would have in my own budget. It’s a win all around.

Alright, so let’s talk about this newest little trio. This is inspired by the Little Women story, with names and themes to match. It, of course, features 3 polishes, and they’re all filled with sparkle and glitter and shine. You can find them now on the Glam Polish website. Short collection, short words to intro it. China Glaze ‘Mystic Bloom’ Spring 2022 Collection – Swatches & Review

Once again she finds herself on blogging catch up after accidentally abandoning it for a couple months. WHOOPS. Listen, I’ve been moving to a new place and traveling, and this is all to say follow my Instagram as I post there daily, and the swatches will always go here first!! But also okay, take a shot every single time I’ve said I’ll catch up on all of the blog posts, but THIS TIME I MEAN IT. It’s HAPPENING. I’ve missed y’all, okay, and I’m never going fully away. I love having this blog as a resource to be able to readily look back on and reference past collections and swatches. So let’s start this catch up already and update the resource.

We have another Spring mainstream collection on our hands today. This one is the China Glaze ‘Mystic Bloom’ collection for Spring 2022. It features 8 shades of all sorts of shifty and shimmery and glittery and interesting finishes to it, and in the normal pastel shades of spring we normally get (listen, I still always love those too, okay, don’t get it twisted) this was a release that got me INTRIGUED.

Orly ‘Impressions’ Spring 2022 Collection – Swatches & Review

It’s the end of the month and she continues with her blog catch up after a little blog break! Sure it says it was published on the 11th, but that’s the blog magic (and her just changing dates to spread out posts and match them their Instagram dates).

ANYWAYS, let’s talk about our next Spring collection today! This is the Spring 2022 release from Orly, called the Impressions collection. It features 6 lovely, almost muted spring-like cream shades.

As always, I got this with my Orly Color Pass. The Color Pass is a program Orly does where you can pay ahead of time and then you automatically get 4 collections sent and delivered to you throughout the year – along with additional goodies in each box. It’s great for someone like me who is already planning on buying all the shades. BUT they’ve also introduced buying individual boxes, so a great way to try it out first as well! I highly recommend.

Zoya ‘Naturel 5’ Collection – Swatches & Review

Heyoooooo we have some neutrals to look at! And some CREAMS. Now, if you haven’t picked up on this before, lemme tell you: I love a good cream shade. Sure, fun complex finishes are fun at times, but nothing has my heart like a good cream formula. And our pal Zoya here has a reputation for having a delightful cream formula, so when they release a set of creams, I’m IN.

This is the Naturel 5 collection from Zoya. Their Naturel collections are often a release of more neutral/nude shades, described as “transitional”, and as you probably picked up there have been 4 others before this, and this is #5. We all got there together. Anyways, I picked this up from the Zoya website in a little bundle which included their Hot Lips (their lip gloss formula) as well as wide brushes for all of the shades. Unfortunately this bundle isn’t available anymore, but the shades are all available individually for $12.

In this set of 5 polishes, we have some light beiges, some medium browns, and a deeper purple shade, so a fun little set of shades. Let’s get on into the swatches!

Essie Valentine’s Day 2022 Collection – Swatches & Review

Accidentally took a little blog break, (WHOOPS. I know it says the 2nd, I’m posting this on the 28th but always adjust the dates to when they were posted on Instagram to keep them in order and not crowding up one day) but HERE WE GO, time to get back into LOTS of swatches. I wouldn’t ever fully abandon this blog, I do still enjoy it too much, and I’ve worked too hard on it after all these years to just leave it! It’s just always nice to have a more searchable and accessible place for all of the collections I put on my Instagram. (And I do recommend following my Instagram, all of these get posted there first). But let’s get on back to my love, blogging about polish.

We’re taking a little pause from the spring collections with another yearly essential: the Valentine’s Day collection from Essie. That’s right, it’s time for loveeee in the form of cute little nail polish bottles. As always there are 6 Valentine’s themed colors here, ranging from pearly whites to bright reds and mauves. And as always, the caps are decorated with cute little Valentine’s imagery as well, which you can see in the below photo. I grabbed mine from Ulta (who shipped them loosely with but one thing of bubble wrap, resulting in a broken polish, and then subsequently shipped me a replacement, you should know better Ulta).

We have a half and half split of creams and shimmery shades here, which I’m never mad at. So let’s get right into the swatches, after all you’ve been waiting long enough for some new posts!

OPI ‘Xbox’ Spring 2022 Collection – Swatches & Review

HAPPY SPRING, EVERYONE! Why yes, since Spring collections always start hitting shelves at the same time each year and every single year I make the same comment about writing this spring post while it’s snowing outside. AND THAT WON’T STOP THIS YEAR, there’s snow on the ground while I’m writing this happy spring post!!!

Anyways, if it’s not yet the most exciting time of the year in where the weather is finally starting to warm up, it’s at least the most exciting time of the nail polish year: when the first seasonal collections pop up. I do always love a Spring collection, with their bright pops of color – even if I am a big fan of deep, dark vampy shades year round.

And it’s always most exciting for me to start out a new season with OPI. OPI is always the most popular posts on both my blog and Instagram, so clearly you all love it as well.

This year, we have a little collaboration collection for Spring, with OPI joining forces with Xbox. Yes, I didn’t expect it either, but I’m here for whatever. This features 12 mostly cream shades that range across a bright and happy, almost pastel rainbow with various themed names that match up across Xbox and its exclusive games.
