Orosa Beauty Winter 2019 Shades

PR SAMPLE

Now that it’s December (where has the time gone???) I basically go from 0-100 with Christmas loving. I go from hating all mention of Christmas before Thanksgiving, then to immediately decorating my apartment and getting everything festive. I battled with decorations (and knocking over 3 plant pots in the process) and got my apartment all cozy and decorated up today! Have you started decorating for Christmas?

And so with that mindset it’s only appropriate that we talk about new winter shades from Orosa Beauty!

I recently won a giveaway of their fall collection, and ended up loving the cream shades in that one. And then I was so pleasantly surprised when this box of new shades showed up on my doorstep as well! I wasn’t expecting it at all, and was so grateful that they decided to send them over to me! But of course, even with products that are sent to me, I’ll always post my honest opinion! Wanted to be thankful but also up front!

These are 3 new releases for Winter from Orosa Beauty! They’re a new polish brand that started this year, and I’ve been loving their shades. There’s just something about that square bottle that gets me, and I just want to hold them and look at them. Have you ever had that.

They released 3 shades, 2 creams and 1 topper for their winter collection. These retail for $12 each on the Orosa Beauty website or for $31 for the set of 3!

Let’s look at the swatches!

Sista Chic Lacquer Santa Baby Holiday 2019 Collection

PR SAMPLE

Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend and Black Friday! What deals did you pick up? I picked up entirely too much makeup, especially eyeshadow, but I can’t wait to swatch it all for you guys when it gets here.

I got back to my apartment today as there was no way in hell I was battling the Sunday travel chaos, and I am definitely excited for an extra day to be productive. You know I say that, and then I also immediately took a 2 hour nap when I got back. Honestly sometimes you have to schedule in a nap.

Being an adult is very exciting.

Anyways, we’re being productive and continuing on with the holiday collections and releases. We got a fun post today! We’re looking at the newest release from Sista Chic Lacquer, a company I’ve been swatching for quite a while.

We have quite the big collection for Sista Chic. This might be one of the biggest releases she’s ever had, and there are so many fun finishes here. She’s releasing 9 shades in her new holiday collection called ‘Santa, Baby’. She talks about “stepping away from traditional Christmas polishes that you see” and I think it’s certainly done here! There are so many unique colors and finishes to look at.

These will be available on December 1st on the Sista Chic website. They’ll be $10 each, and the linear holographic will be $12. As always, part of the proceeds from each polish goes to Project Rescue, an organization that helps out with girls and women rescued from sex trafficking. Always a good cause!

Now let’s get right into the polishes.

Orly Arctic Frost Winter 2019 Collection

This review was fully intentioned to go up this past Sunday. But then I picked up a lovely chest cold for the whole weekend. And then my train going back home for Thanksgiving was delayed for THREE HOURS. These are all just excuses and ranting to say that I had a schedule and THEN SOMETIMES THINGS HAPPENS AND YOUR SCHEDULE IS BLOWN OUT OF THE WATER. But it’s here NOW.

Let’s just talk about the polish shall we? We’re continuing right on with the Holiday posts. Today we’re looking at the Orly Winter 2019 collection. This is the Arctic Frost collection, and features 6 shades, full of glitter and shimmer and sparkle.

But now here we go!

As always, I got this collection as part of my Orly Color pass. I’ve talked about Color Pass in every Orly collection review, but a quick rundown again: you pay once an upfront discounted fee ($119) and then throughout the year you receive 4 boxes, one for each season, containing a collection and various other goodies. As I’ve said before, it’s fantastic if you’re already planning on purchasing all of the shades like I am – otherwise the individual shades are always available for purchase on 8ty8beauty.com (that is the website I found them for the cheapest price!).

Now for the Winter 2019 box! It comes with the Arctic Frost collection, an Orly Dry brush, the Orly French Manicure White Tip Guides, and a perfume sampler set from Skylar.

Lights Lacquer GRL PWR Collection

I’m currently battling a gnarly chest cold, and hacking up a nice dry cough, so you know, perfect time to hole up and talk about nail polish! I feel like I use a lot of things as excuses to hole up and swatch and talk about nail polish, but it’s fine, everything’s fine.

In this post, we’re talking about the polish release that we’ve all been waiting for! This is the first collection from Lights Lacquer, the new polish company from Kathleen Lights. Kathleen originally owned and released with KL Polish – and then there were issues with the investors and she ended up pulling out, and then eventually forming the new company Lights Lacquer.

I never ended up trying KL Polish while it was still a thing. I had so many other polishes that I was always trying, it was just never on my list or in my budget. But now with so much hype around this new release, I knew I had to try it out.

Their first release is the ‘GRL PWR’ collection, and it features 6 shades based around badass and strong ladies (who doesn’t love that). It features 3 straight creams, 2 more shimmery creams and then 1 glittery topper. These retail for $9.50 each or $52 for the full 6 polish bundle, which saves you $5. These can be found on the Lights Lacquer website.

Let’s get into these pretties already!

Essie Game Theory Collection

Guess who’s feeling productive!!! Let’s see how long that lasts!!! And let’s see if I can finish up a couple more posts before it’s December already (when the heck did that happen how is it already more than halfway through November, make it stop). I’m rambling because I surprisingly don’t have a paragraph to start you out with. Who am I? I blame Daylight Savings.

So let’s get right into the polish! Today we’re looking at another Essie collection (they’ve been busy this year). This is the Game Theory collection, and it was released this fall time, right before their Fall collection. I finally gathered up all the shades and it’s time to talk about em! All the shades are still available on 8ty8beauty.com, where I purchased them. I’ve also seen them now popping up in a new display in CVS, so hey-o suddenly popular again!

This collection has 6 shades all with a matte velvet finish. I’ve been loving all of the matte finish polishes that have dropped this fall and winter, and JUST GIMME ALL THE MATTES. I love any sort of matte finish on a polish, and especially shimmery polishes like these ones. I’ll stop blabbering and just let you see how pretty these are already. Let’s get into the swatches now!

OPI x Hello Kitty Holiday 2019 Collection

This is a big ol’ collection to talk about today, so I’m not even going to ramble like I normally do! (Don’t get used to it, it’ll come back for more posts).

Today we’re talking about the first holiday collection of the year on the blog! Wild to think we’re already zooming into the holidays, but IT’S TIME. And we’re starting it with an exciting one!

This is the OPI holiday 2019 collection and it’s in collaboration with Hello Kitty! If you didn’t know, their first collaboration with Hello Kitty was for Spring 2016. That was before I was really into polish and collecting, so I only grabbed a few that I found in clearance bins after they came out. They had white wrappers with Hello Kitty’s face printed all over them. These ones this year have black wrappers with white bows printed all over.

There are 12 polishes in the core release, and then 3 exclusive glitter toppers. And of course I bought them all! I picked all of these up from polishpick.com, where I get all of my OPI polishes – they have the best prices and quickest shipping!

There’s a lot of polishes and I went a little ham with photos, so we got a lot to look at! Let’s get right into it!

Colourpop Uh-Huh Honey Palette Review

Review

Listen, I love eyeshadow and palettes. A LOT. Some might say I have a problem, but there are worse problems to have really. I recently hauled a bunch of new palettes, and I’m promising myself that along with those, it’s time to get up some reviews that have been on the backburner for far too long! I’m telling myself that reviewing the palettes on my blog will help offset all of the new ones I buy (it makes sense to me, okay, let me have this).

I definitely let my eyeshadow palette reviews slip a little bit, and want to get back into them more regularly. They can definitely be more “intimidating” to write since they take more work, but I’m working on tackling them one chunk at a time in order to get them out in a more timely fashion in the future. This is first and foremost a nail blog, so I’m still nailing (sorry) down the makeup review routine!

Now let’s talk about this palette! This one has been on the backburner far too long, and it’s about time I get it up!

This is an “older” palette now by Colourpop standards, but I’m working on not letting that stop me from reviewing things! There’s such a focus on having the newest things constantly, I think it’s good to go back and talk about things that I still have and like even if they’re not “new”. This is a permanent palette, and you can still buy it on the Colourpop website. I know I do review a lot of limited edition things, but I do like talking about permanent buys as well – you don’t have to rush out to buy it and you can really think about your decision and whether it’ll fit into your collection. I’m always just trying to help make more informed decisions for purchases, and overall, it all depends on your preferences!

Alright onto the palette. This is the ‘Uh Huh Honey’ palette from Colourpop and it’s one of the 9 pan palettes from their monochromatic series. Like I said, it’s a lil “older” now, but still available, and who doesn’t love yellow all year round! I love wearing this palette with a deep burgundy red lip, so it’s still perfect for the upcoming winter. It retails for $12 and is their traditional square plastic packaging like the others.

Like all other eyeshadow palette reviews, I have swatches, eye looks and then the review! You can skip to any part of it with the links above. Let’s get into it!

Orosa Beauty Fall 2019 Collection

GIVEAWAY PRIZE

Hey-oooo this is our last fall collection to talk about! Isn’t that crazy to think about? And then I’m almost “on time” for all of the holiday collections 😂 I know it’s crazy to think about, but all the brands are in full on holiday mode, so that is the ONE PLACE I will allow holidays early. Otherwise all Christmas music has to wait until December 1st and we’re not forgetting about Thanksgiving here. Rules are rules.

So let’s talk about this last fall collection shall we? Our last grasp on the 60 degree wonderful last sunny days in this blog (I miss those days, it’s already down to 40s and gray here).

I have the Fall collection today from Orosa Beauty! This is a new to me brand, and a newer overall brand to discuss. This brand started this year, and this is now their 2nd collection they’ve released, after a Summer collection. I had seen posts, but hadn’t been truly dialed into their releases until this fall collection. It’s full of stunning cream shades and some beautiful deeper colors.

And then I was tagged in a giveaway they were doing, and I won! This is the first giveaway I ever won on Instagram, so I was so dang excited! (Is this what it’s like to win the lottery). The brand was so kind, and they told me I won on Thursday and the package with the polishes was already to me two days later on Saturday! I was so impressed, and the polishes are just so cute (there’s just something about those square bottles that gets me.

This is their Fall 2019 collection and features 6 cream shades – 1 more sheer, and the rest are full creams. They retail for $12 each on the Orosa Beauty website.

Let’s get on into the swatches!

Essie Fall 2019 Collection

PURCHASED

You know when you have a wild Friday night in, swatching polishes and drinking tea? Just me? Whatever, I had a great time. And then the next night I was out with my friends until 2am because I like to keep everyone guessing. It’s about balance.

Speaking of wild amounts of swatching, I finished up the last two fall collections we have to talk about. So there’s one more after this, and then we’re diving head first into holiday collections! I’m going to keep bringing it up so you’re fully prepared all around.

Now onto this first fall collection we have to talk about that I’m so glad I finally got into my hands and onto my nails! This is the Essie fall 2019 collection, and it’s of course 6 polishes. I picked mine up from 8ty8beauty.com – they still have all the shades in stock as of this post, and I love their site for always having the newest Essie collections! Super quick shipping and I love them overall.

This is a lovely fall collection with some yellows, greens and warm tones! We have some beautiful colors to look at, so let’s get right into it!

China Glaze ‘To Catch a Color’ Halloween 2019 Collection

Heyooooo, we got another post! We’re still finishing up a couple fall posts, and then we’re going straight on into Holiday reviews already. Scary, right?

SPEAKING OF SCARY, today we’re looking at the China Glaze Halloween release. (Seamless transition). Listen, I know it’s November 1st, Halloween was yesterday, blah blah blah I DON’T CARE. Since I’m celebrating this weekend, Halloween continues until this weekend, thank you.

And come on, we can all be spooky all winter. It’s spooky enough that it was snowing yesterday on Halloween.

So let’s talk about this China Glaze collection! This is a 6 polish collection called ‘To Catch a Color’ and it has a variety of true-crime inspired names. So of course, while swatching, I pulled up my trusty 21 streaming seasons of Law & Order: SVU. I know y’all love Benson & Stabler as much as I do. Again, combining my two loves of nail polish and true crime. LET’S GET INTO IT. DUN DUN.

I picked this whole collection up off polishpick.com (if you purchase anything from there, you can put in my name as who sent you – I don’t get any commission off this, it just helps the website to see where people come from). Now into the swatches!
