China Glaze ‘You Do Hue’ Sesame Street Collection

China Glaze came out with an adorable collaboration with Sesame Street for their 50th anniversary! It’s a 12 piece collection of lots of colorful shades and lots of sparkle.

It took a little longer to get my hands on this collection, but it was so dang worth it! I ended up purchasing from polishpick.com, and there are still some shades left there as well as on head2toebeauty.com.

Let’s get into it!

All of the caps have these adorable little printed characters on them. They have the little face on one side, and then the little “symbol” of them on the other side, with the You Do Hue name printed as well. There are 3 different characters: Big Bird and his feather, Oscar the Grouch and a fish skeleton, and Cookie Monster and a cookie. I think it’s just so cute, and I love when the caps are special for a collection.

We have a lot of swatches to get through, so let’s get into the polish already!

Wet N Wild Pac-Man Perfect Game Nail Polish Set

PURCHASED

Whew boy, it’s the start of a busy couple of months for me! I have two family weddings coming up, one in September and one in October – including being a bridesmaid for the September one, so it’s about to be a lot of traveling and craziness! I’ll be testing how well I can get posts together and ready to put up before I’m gone for a weekend, which is something I want to be better at anyways. I just talked about how I was more consistent in posting in July, so its time to REALLY TEST THAT.

It’s crazy that these are coming up so fast, and I can’t believe it’s already August! The time is just flying by. But we still have plenty of summer left here, and the heat isn’t letting up. Do you have any plans for the rest of the summer?

But as always, the polish doesn’t let up for any schedule! Today’s post is talking about this little nail polish set that came out in the Wet N Wild Pac-Man collection (I’ll have a separate post about the makeup items up in the next week or two). When this collection was previewed, I was very interested in the eyeshadow palette, of course, but seeing a nail polish set always makes me excited, and it was something I knew I had to snatch up. They’ve only done this one other time, with the Flights of Fancy collection last summer.

I’ll always miss the full limited edition nail polish collections that Wet N Wild used to come out with (especially as they ended right as I was getting into polish). And I’ll always have a hope that they’ll do them again someday. For now, I’ll deal, and have these little sets fill the void in my heart.

Essie Glazed Days Collection

PURCHASED

I posted this on my Instagram stories as well, but I’ve been a lot more motivated with my blogging lately. I got a planner at the beginning of July, and scheduling out my posts and what I need to be doing each night, whether it’s swatches, photos, or posts, has been doing wonders. I went from doing 2-5 posts every month to posting ELEVEN in July! It might seem like a little thing, but I’m proud of myself. I’m on more of a schedule and more consistent, and it’s feeling so good. I’m in love with blogging again, and can’t wait to continue posting for you guys! And I hope you’ve been loving the more consistent content!

I’m still working my way through a desk of polish collections that had built up, and we’re almost caught up and ready to get into FALL COLLECTIONS. It’s crazy to think about, since it’s only a few days into August, but polish brands are full on into the deep vampy colors. Fall’s my favorite season, so I can’t complain at all.

But it ain’t fall just yet! (I mean, it is still regularly above 80 degrees here). We still have a couple collections to talk about before that.

Essie has been BUSY this summer, and they’re released this collection, along with their summer collection AND a summer trilogy! Whew, that’s 4 collections all within the span of a couple months. They’re small collections, but we’ve got a lot of Essie coming up on the blog.

So we’re looking at some jelly polishes today! This is the ‘Glazed Days’ collection, and features 6 polishes in a sheer jelly finish. You can still find these on transdesign.com, and I picked up a few that I needed from CVS as well.

Colourpop Sweet Talk Palette

Jump to Eye Looks
Jump to Review

The Colourpop extravaganza continues! What if I just turned this blog into reviewing Colourpop products? Honestly, that would be a full time job all on its own. I hope you guys have been loving the addition of more consistent makeup reviews because I’ve been LOVING THEM. I feel like I’m really getting to know and use the palettes I’m bringing into my collection, and I’m passing on information I get from purchases to you guys! It’s been really fun, and I can’t wait to continue it! (But don’t worry, the nail polish will always be a priority. I still got a lot of that to talk about as well.)

This week’s palette is the Sweet Talk palette! This is a neutral palette with a strong peachy tones, and I surprised myself with how much I ended up wanting this. Is that a neutral phase I smell coming? I mean, I’m loving neutral eyes more and more as I’m challenging myself to wear more of my bright lip colors! But heck to it, I’ll wear colorful eyes AND lips, I can’t be stopped. I love all eyeshadow, and don’t discriminate between colorful shades and neutrals, there’s plenty to love with both.

Like I said, this is the ‘Sweet Talk’ palette and it retails for $18. It’s a couple dollars more than their regular 12 pan palettes, as it contains 2 pressed glitters and their new Super Shock shade. As always, we’ll look at swatches, eye looks and then a full review! (You can always skip right to the review with the link above as well).

Zoya Barefoot Summer 2019 Collection

PURCHASED

Zoya just released photos of their fall collection, so it’s only fitting that I’m finally swatching up the Summer 2019 collection! hahha. As I’ve mentioned before, I’m finally more organized and motivated, and on more of a schedule for this blog, so I’ve been catching up on reviews and making my way through all of the polish stacked up on my desk. And it’s finally time for the Barefoot collection!

I picked up this collection when Zoya offered their summer box. I HIGHLY recommend these boxes whenever they pop up, especially if you’re looking to pick up a whole collection (as a blogger like me will do), as you get the full 12 polishes, as well as other goodies for basically the price of 6 polishes. (Here’s the link to their Fall box, which you can pick up through the 31st!: Zoya Fall Box).

Whew, it’s been a while since I’ve swatched a 12 piece collection! All the other brands have been nice, and releasing little 6 and 8 piece collections that I could swatch in a day, but Zoya’s always here with their bigger collections! (Of course, those brands doing 6 piece collections have also put out like 3 collections in 3 months, looking at you, Essie).

This is the Zoya ‘Barefoot collection for Summer 2019, and it’s a traditional 12 piece like I talked about before. It features 11 full color polishes, and then 1 topper shade. Let’s get right into it, we got a lot of polishes to talk about!

Colourpop Main Squeeze Palette Review

Jump to Review

I’m going to say Sorry, NOT SORRY, for the amount of Colourpop that will be coming on these Makeup Sunday posts. I’ve just been loving all of their products and releases lately, and they’re all so affordable, it’s so easy to just make another order. I’ve picked up a lot of their new palettes lately, and it’s all just made me excited about new makeup again. This is an affordable makeup blog always, and Colourpop just fits right into that, while coming out with such unique and fun things.

And this is the first of a series of Colourpop palette reviews! I got a stack of them, and this palette was the first one I knew I had to play with.

This is the Main Squeeze palette, and it’s the red addition to Colourpop’s monochromatic palette series. It’s one of their 9 pan smaller square palettes.

Essie Summer 2019 Collection – Comparisons

See the original review post here: Essie Summer 2019 Collection

IT’S SWATCH COMPARISON SATURDAY! WOO! Look, I’m still keeping it up! Weirdly proud of myself right now, I’m not going to lie. It was a wild and crazy Friday night here, swatching and comparing, and avoiding going outside in our heatwave that we’re having. There’s some good ones here – including my first ever full dupe for one of these posts!

This week we’re looking at the Essie Summer 2019 collection. I pulled comparisons for 4 of the shades. The bright neon orange, ‘Soles on Fire’, and the bright purple, ‘Tangoed in Love’, I couldn’t find anything close for. Two very unique shades to my collection for sure!

Let’s look at the comparisons!

***

Up first, we have the light pastel orange shade, ‘In Full Swing’. I had a bunch of shades in the same tone, but nothing that quite matched the peachiness of it. ‘Pink Noise’ was a little rosier, and ‘Everything’s Peachy’ was more yellow-toned.

Essie Summer 2019 Collection

PURCHASED

Y’ALL, FALL collections are already being previewed and released, and oooh boy, when it’s supposed to be a high of 99 this Friday, it’s hard to think about fall, even with it being my favorite season. I shouldn’t be shocked, as makeup and nail polish are always ahead, but I’m still catching up! Don’t worry, they’ll be coming to the blog soon enough.

For now, we still got a couple more summer collections to talk about!

In this review, we’re looking at the Essie Summer 2019 collection. I have the Zoya Summer collection coming up after this one, and then we’ll be finished with summer reviews! Crazy to think about!

This is a collection of 6 creams, with 3 more orange-toned shades, and then 3 bright pops of color. Now Essie calls all of these shades “neon”. However, I think at most 2 or 3 would count under that label, but you’ll have to see for yourself.

This collection definitely took a little bit of hunting to track down, but I finally got it. There are a couple left on transdesign.com, and they’re in stock now on 8ty8beauty.com – if you’re looking for discounted prices! I ended up buying 3 of the shades from target.com, so they’re out and about at various drugstores as well – but it’s definitely a popular collection! Let’s look at the shades!

LA Girl Haute Haute Heat Eyeshadow Palette in ‘Aloha Vibes’

Review

Heyoooo it’s Makeup Sundays! Just like with Comparison Swatch Saturdays that I talked about in my last post, I’m trying to get on more organized and on more of a schedule for this blog. I’m not fully committing yet, and I know there will times and events I’ll have to move the schedule around, but let’s see how it sticks.

This blog will always be primarily nail polish, but as I’ve said before, I also love makeup just as much as nail polish. Since I’m constantly buying it as well as polish, I want to start posting about it more. I’m buying it anyways, so I might as well tell others how I feel about it! That’s why I’m bringing in Makeup Sundays, where I’m hoping to post just about makeup – if that’s not your thing, there will still be tons of nail reviews throughout the rest of the week. I only buy and review affordable makeup – whether that’s mainstream or indie. There’s so much good makeup out there that won’t break the bank, and that’s what I want to stick with!

As always let’s get right into the review already.

Today, we’re talking about the LA Girl Haute Heat palette! When this bad boy was teased and dropped, I was immediately intrigued. I love LA Girl for their foundation and eyeliners, and this palette looked unlike anything they had released so far, so I knew I had to try it. There are 2 different palettes. We’re talking about the on in ‘Aloha Vibes’, which has more blues and purples. They also have one called ‘Vacay Everyday’ that has rosier and warmer toned shades. They also have a highlighter palette in this same packaging.

This retails for $18 on the LA Girl website or $15 in store at CVS. I wasn’t expecting to find it at my local CVS, but I walked in one day and they had a full display of them. So there’s a chance it’s still up there. (You can see a full store list that stocks them here). They were available on Ulta’s website, but seem to have sold out there. I believe they’re still in Ulta stores though – and you can still buy it off LA Girl’s website.

As always, I’ll show you all the pictures, talk about the palette and packaging itself, and then have the full review and eye looks at the end! If you want to skip right to the eye looks, click here or the review part, you can click here.

Orly Euphoria Collection – Comparisons

Original Review Post: Orly Euphoria Summer 2019 Collection

Another comparison post! I’m hoping to try to get these up on Saturdays for collections that have been swatched throughout the week. I’m not totally committing that yet, but it’s been working out so far! Comparison Swatch Saturdays! If there’s multiple posts during the week (if I can keep my schedule up) I’ll try to get multiple posts up throughout the day. All planning right now, so we’ll see how it works out!

Today’s post is talking about the new Orly Euphoria collection! I compared the 4 cream shades – I knew I wouldn’t have any dupes for the toppers. Let’s get right into it!
