Essie Summer 2018 Collection

We’re continuing on with the summer collections! We’re basically halfway through the summer now! How’s it been for you? I’ve honestly had a great summer so far, and am looking forward to some cooler temperatures and sunny days.

I’ve got a typical 6 bottle collection from Essie to talk about today! It’s loosely based on the festival theme we’ve been seeing pop up throughout all the makeup and nail collections. There are 4 creams and 2 shimmers. Let’s get right into it!

Essie Spring 2018 Collection

It’s May and I’m finally getting through the last of the spring posts! Maybe someday after I talk about it so much, I’ll actually be “on time” with the collection reviews. Probably never. Really promoting myself, aren’t I?

Either way, here I am with the Essie Spring 2018 collection! Did you see they just dropped 2 new collections right on us? The Sea Glass Shimmers, as well as their Summer collection both seemed to pop out at once! (How am I ever going to catch up when they do me like this). Anyways, you can preview both of those here!

But let’s not get ahead of ourselves and go back to spring shall we? I mean, it’s not officially summer until June 21st after all.

As usual, it’s a 6 piece collection – after doing 12 piece collections, I almost weep when I just have to swatch a 6 piecer. This one is travel/naval themed, and features 5 creams, and one more shimmery finish. Let’s just get right into it!

Essie Winter 2017 Collection

Hey-o it’s the start of winter collection reviews! I know right, just in time for spring!

Nah, it’s still winter here in Chicago. We got a couple more months before it feels like spring so I’m set. I’ll get these reviews out, and we can finally be ahead of the seasons, as any good blogger should be. I, of course, will be sprinkling in makeup reviews as I go, because that gives me an excuse to also keep buying more makeup.

This blog is my excuse to buys so much nail polish and makeup. You guys are my enablers, DON’T LET THE ADDICTION DOWN.

But anyways, this review. This is the Essie Winter 2017 collection, and it’s of course a 6 bottle collection. I like putting these shorter reviews in the middle of the big ass 12 bottle collections. Breaks it up. Makes it easier. Let’s talk about nail polish.

So let’s get right into swatches.

Review: Essie Fall 2017 Collection

Happy Black Friday y’all! I will be honest and say I just did some damage on Zoya’s website for their Black Friday sale – I wait all year for their major sales and I just got paid today, so it was fate telling me to go ahead and buy more nail polish, right? So I’ll definitely be doing a post on those when I get them in.

For now, we’re still chugging along with the fall collection reviews. I’m not going to lie, I had a little lull, and now, swatching these collections, I’m falling in love with nail polish and blogging all over again. Maybe it’s because I now have the time (and the funds) to really invest into it again, and my nails are finally growing and healthy again. Ahhh I’m so excited for the future of this blog. *sappy emotions*

Enough rambling! We’re trying to finish up fall collections here!

I have the Essie fall 2017 collection today! It’s a 6 polish collection (I did the 2 6-piece collections first, and now we have the 2 12-piece collections coming up, be ready). It’s got a 90s theme (something I don’t get tired of), and features mostly cream shades, with a pop of metallic and shimmer. So let’s get into the shades!

Review: Essie Summer 2017 + Comparisons

You know 4 days before the official start of fall is the best time to finish up reviewing summer collections, right? As always, BETTER LATE THAN NEVER.

I’m finally getting some sort of set schedule down with work, and an actual income, so collection reviews are popping back up on my blog! It was almost a little break, but I’m trying my best to get back into it!

This is my first post with my shorter little nails. Working as a barista, I broke basically all of my longer nails within the first week of work – sigh, the barista life. They’re growing back slowly. Also, please do not mind my ragged, dry cuticles. The constant hand washing is just wreaking havoc on my fingers and skin, and they’re just a hot mess. FOCUS ON THE NAIL POLISH INSTEAD.

So here we go, the last summer collection I’m reviewing. It’s the Essie Summer 2017 6-piece collection! It’s based off of Paris, and is something I was just waiting to get my hands on.

It has 3 creams, 2 shimmers, and 1 metallic foil. I have comparisons at the bottom as well, so let’s get right into it!

Essie Spring 2017 Swatch/Review

I’m trying my best to catch up on all the spring collections. THERE’S JUST SO MANY. But we’re getting there. And I mean, it’s technically still spring. Spring just arrived in the UP 2 weeks ago, so I’m technically right on time. That’s right, I’m making excuses for myself – it’s my blog, I do what I want.

Better late than never I say.

Anyways, as you can see from the title, we’re looking at the Essie Spring collection! You know, OPI is my one true love, but Essie is slowly creeping into my heart as well. Especially with this collection – spoiler alert. Ever since I’ve gotten into blogging, and therefore been reviewing the newest Essie collections, they’ve been killing it on formulas.

And this collection is no exception, so let’s get right into it.

This spring collection is another 6 bottle collection, like normal. It features 6 cream colors. Onto the swatches!

Swatch/Review: Essie Winter 2016 FULL Collection

Happy belated Thanksgiving! From visiting with the family and stuffing myself, to catching up on homework that I didn’t touch over winter break, there was a little break in my posting. But here I am! Full on into holidays! We only have so much time before Christmas, crazy to think about!

I picked up the Zoya Holiday collection in their Black Friday sale so a review will be coming on that, as well as a review on the OPI collection as well at least before Christmas. I want to pick up the China Glaze collection as well, but if that has to wait until after Christmas and just be a winter collection, it will. I’m coming up on finals guys so it’s getting crazy!

But now, let’s get on into the Essie Winter 2016 collection! This is a 6 shade collection.

Swatch/Review: Essie Fall 2016 FULL COLLECTION

I was to apologize for the nice hot minute it’s been since I’ve posted. I’m right in the middle of my senior year of college (dear god I have to be an adult soon) and that’s terrifying. I just finished a big project (today!) so that’s why this post has just been waiting in the background and it’s been so long since you’ve heard from me. But don’t worry, I’m not going anywhere!

Now, it’s no secret that OPI is my one great love in the nail polish world. And that’s right, I was an OPI snob. Before this blog, I owned about 8 Essie shades in total, compared to the 30-something of OPI I had collected over the years. I don’t know why, I just didn’t lean towards Essie that much.

But I’m working to even the gap! I am a polish-opportunist. Any and all brands are open to my trial, and it starts now.

Essie put out a beautiful fall collection out now, and as I began to see photos of it, I knew I had to have them all (and of course I knew I had to swatch them for you guys). I picked them up from TransDesign.

This collection is based on Japan, and there are 6 colors in this collection. (Spoiler: I love them all).

Let’s get into the swatches. And at the very end, after them all, I have comparisons on a couple colors as well!

NOTD: Essie’s ‘Viva Antigua’ + Revlon’s ‘Gold Glaze’

I finally picked up Essie’s ‘Viva Antigua’ after seeing so many swatches of the beautiful teal sparkly goodness. I had to have it really.

Lemme tell you I love it.

Then, to switch it up, I topped with Revlon’s Transforming Effects Top Coat in ‘Gold Glaze’ and

holy mermaid goodness.

It was so hard to capture the true beauty of this on camera, but I tried my dang best. I’m in love.

VivaAntigua-GoldGlaze

(Ignore the tip wear there, this is a couple-day old manicure).

The gold sparkle combines with the blue shimmer in ‘Viva Antigua’ and just creates this shimmery masterpiece.

Brb, going to go jump in the ocean and fulfill my mermaid dreams now.
