Sinful Colors ‘Chic Chicas’ Shades

I’m slowly making my way through and posting all of my “this should have been posted a while ago” posts, this one included. Hey, better late than never really.

For the spring, Sinful Colors released 3 different collections, all under the ‘Spring Trippin’ theme. I reviewed the other two so far (see the Desert Divas and Bayou Babes), and finally I have 3 shades from the last one. This one was a little harder for me to find, so I only have a couple, but I wanted to post about them anyways.

I believe there were 6-7 new shades in this, 6 cream shades with Spanish themed names, and one topper shade. They’re all bright saturated creams, and can go well into the summer as well!

Onto the shades! And look, I have my lighting back again! Reunited and able to swatch into the late night hours again.

Sinful Colors ‘Desert Divas’ Stoned-Crystal Shimmers Collection

I’m a little late on this bandwagon. But it’s been busy around here. From packing up my whole life, to getting ready to graduate and leave my friends to graduating and moving away from all of my friends, it’s been a time. But I squeezed in this nail review for you!

As I’ve said, everyone has already talked about this collection, and for good reason. These polishes are incredible.

This is the ‘Desert Divas’ collection. This was one of 3 collections that dropped all for the spring from Sinful Colors, underneath the title ‘Spring Trippin’. It also included the ‘Bayou Babes’ Sinful Shine collection (which I reviewed here) and the ‘Chic Chicas’ collection, which I’ll have a couple from soon.

For now, let’s look at the ‘Desert Divas’ collection. This is a 9 bottle collection. I have 8 here. So there were 8 that were in the main displays, and then Sinful Colors did that thing where they limited released one color to make it seem super limited and make people go crazy over it – it worked. But I got it.

These all have the ‘Stoned Crystal Shimmer’ sticker on them, which means they’re all a cream color base with little silver shimmers throughout it. Stunning. I knew I had to have these. My Walgreen was severely low stocked, but luckily Christy was able to hook me up! She found a full display and sent me the shades I still needed! Be sure to check her out on Instagram @he.chosethenails – she does lovely nail art! Have I mentioned before how I love the nail polish community?

Enough chatter, let’s get into the swatches! Hopefully you already picked some up!

Sinful Colors ‘Bayou Babes’ Sinful Shine Collection

Hello everyone! I’m back! If you follow my blog, or follow me on Instagram, you’ll see that I posted I would be a little MIA as I was finishing my big senior project for school. And while I have a couple more days of work on it, (it’s sending out for printing Wednesday!) it’s finally slowed down and I’ve been able to write up some posts in the breaks. What was it? Well I created a 40 page magazine about the food & drink in my town here! I interviewed everyone, wrote the articles, got the photos and designed it all – and now it’s going to be displayed in our art museum with the rest of the graduating seniors’ work. It’s crazy to believe it got done – and soon I can sleep again!

But what I really couldn’t believe was the amount of support that poured in from the beauty and Instagram community. It was incredible. My heart was so full from all the wishing of luck and sweet messages you all delivered. Ever since I joined this community, I’ve found nothing but open arms and new friends and support as we all just talk about the things we love. So I want to thank all of you who supported me – I couldn’t have stayed sane without this.

But now, I’m back and ready to post more than ever! Since this project is (pretty much) done, I’ll have more time to devote to blogging – and applying for a real adult job after graduation – AH. We’re not thinking about that right now. We’re thinking about pretty nail polish.

SO Sinful Colors put out 3 collections all at once, underneath a big theme of “Spring Trippin'”. There are 2 collections in their normal ‘Sinful Colors’ line called ‘Desert Divas’ – with the ‘Stoned Crystal Shimmer’ finish (I NEED THESE AND HAVEN’T BEEN ABLE TO TRACK THEM DOWN. I might have to put out a call for someone to find them for me), and the ‘Chic Chicas’ collection of creams – again, another one that I haven’t been able to find (my Walgreen supply has been TERRIBLE).

And then there’s a new Sinful Shine collection – which I actually did find, and am talking about today. This is an 8 shade collection – but there’s 5 new shades and 3 repromotes. The repromotes didn’t interest me too much, so I just picked up the new shades.

Like I mentioned, there’s 5 new shades, and they’re all this wonderfully shimmery finish. You can also tell them with their themed-New Orleans names. Since they’re the Sinful Shines, these retail for $2.99 a piece.

So let’s get into the shades – and back to blogging!

Swatch/Review: Sinful Colors ‘Luck of the Stylish’ St. Patrick’s Day 2017

It’s almost St. Patrick’s Day, and lemme tell you, I AM PUMPED. I mean, I’m a senior in college, and it’s my last St. Paddy’s Day in college what can I say.

But it also means lots of new green nail polish, especially from Sinful Colors.

Today I have the 2017 Sinful Colors St. Patrick’s Day collection for 2017. It’s called ‘The Luck of the Stylish’ and there are 8 colors – I have 6 of them. The display at my Walgreens was pretty well cleaned out, so I couldn’t pick up the gold shade, ‘Gilded Goddess’, and ‘San Francisco’, the dark green cream. It looked like ‘San Francisco’ at least was a repromote – so I wasn’t too worried about that.

Either way, I have the other 6 shades to swatch at least! I have 3 repromotes, and 3 new shades. Let’s start with the new shades.

Swatch/Review: Sinful Colors Kandee Johnson ‘Vintage Anime’ FULL COLLECTION

Another Kandee Johnson collection? THAT’S RIGHT. The first collection was called ‘Pretty Vintage’ and was all cream colors with a lovely matte or textured finish – see my post about it here. This collection is called the ‘Vintage Anime’ collection and features all lovely glitters and a range of fun toppers.

Of course I needed both.

Now there are 12 polishes in this full collection. I found them on a larger standalone display in my Walgreens, separate from where new Sinful Colors displays usually are. There’s a variety of finishes in this collection, but pretty much all of them have glitter or shimmer in them.

These have rose gold shiny tops, instead of just matte black like normal, a little like the Sinful Shine line, but are still part of the normal Sinful Colors line. But they also retail for $3 each, instead of the normal 2. They all have the ‘Kandee Johnson for Sinful Colors’ sticker on the caps as well.

I was going to go in numerical order, but many of the polishes that have similar finishes aren’t numerically after one another (why, God, why), so I’m going to go in little sections. I’m going to group them by different finishes and formulas.

Swatch/Review: Sinful Colors ‘Sinful With a Kiss’ Valentine’s 2017 Collection

Love is in the air! Or at least, lots of new nail polish releases, and that’s basically the same thing.

Sinful Colors is just pooping out collections, and I can’t say I don’t love it. I’m going to do my best to get as many collections up here as I can, as they come into my store, so you can keep track of them all! So be ready for all sorts of collections coming up – Kandee Johnson ‘Anime’ Collection, the St. Patrick’s Day collection, as well as other spring collections that I’ve seen little previews of. SO MANY NEW POLISHES.

But for today I have the Sinful Colors Valentine’s Day collection for 2017! This is a collection of 8 polishes – 4 new original polishes, and 4 re-promotes from previous times. I’m going to have the 4 new polishes first, then the 4 re-promotes.

So let’s get on into the swatches!

Swatch/Review: Sinful Colors Kandee Johnson ‘Pretty Vintage’ *Updated* FULL Collection

The first nail post of 2017 is here! I know there’s been a lot of makeup lately, but I’m going back to where I started – with Sinful Colors. You can always count on me reviewing the newest Sinful Colors collections here (provided I find them in my Walgreens).

Today I have the Kandee Johnson ‘Pretty Vintage’ collection! As soon as I saw advertising for this, I basically ran to my Walgreens to snatch it up. I had to have it. Now Kandee Johnson has 2 collections out with Sinful Colors – this is the ‘Pretty Vintage’ one full of cream colors. The other is the ‘Vintage Anime’ and had more glitters.

This collection is a collaboration with, obviously, YouTuber Kandee Johnson. Kandee is so absolutely talented, and just seems like such a lovely person, so I was very excited to see these, especially when I saw the colors! This is a 12 color collection, but I was able to find 7 of the shades that are in the most popular display – apparently the others are a little hard to find. If I ever find them, I’ll be sure to update the post. *UPDATE* I found one of the full displays that has all 12 shades on it, so I have the full collection now! I’ll start with the first 7, and then put the newest ones I’m found at the end.

I’m going to go in numerical order for these ones, so let’s just hop right in! Onto the swatches!

Swatch/Review: Sinful Colors ‘Santa Bae’ Holiday 2016

CHRISTMAS. EXCITEMENT. That’s right, the holidays are just around the corner, including the best holiday of all, Thanksgiving. And this means, holiday collections and holiday nail polishes.

I found the display with the new Sinful Color’s holiday polishes just hanging out at the end of one of the aisles at my Walgreens and snatched.

As for trying to figure out exactly what polishes were technically in this collection or new, it was a little difficult. I went off of the shades advertised on Sinful Color’s Instagram to see what was exactly new. If you look on their website, they have more colors listed underneath the ‘Santa Bae’ section but I think the 8 I have here are the new shades for this year. I have a couple of the older shades as well that I’ll compare at the end.

I have 8 new shades to show you. Now onto the swatches!

Swatch/Review: Sinful Colors ‘Guise and Ghouls’ Halloween 2016 Collection

My Walgreens finally got the Halloween display up! Hallelujer. I was stalking Walgreens just waiting until they did, and praise Jeebus, they finally did.

One of the girls who works at Walgreens is in my art theory class. And the other day she leaned over and said to me “I hope this isn’t creepy, but we just got a bunch of new Halloween nail polishes in. I know that’s your thing.” I’ve made it guys. She officially knows I’m nail polish crazy. I didn’t have the heart to tell her I had already found them.

This collection also includes a solid black, and solid white cream, as well as the normal glow-in-the-dark top coat that they put out every year, but I didn’t pick these up, as I didn’t feel the need to.

I have not been able to find ‘Deja Boo’ around at all (it seems to be a problem for others as well) – but if I happen to, I’ll be sure to update this post, as well as indicate in the title. Otherwise I have the other 8 shades here to show you!

Now there are 9 colors (that aren’t the plain black & white), including the famous ‘Deja Boo’ promoted as this collection, so I picked those up, although there are more companion shades in the display with it. But I have swatches and a review of the main 8, as well as one dupe shade as well at the end of the post!

Let’s get on with it!

Review/Swatch: Sinful Colors ‘Fashion Flash’ FULL COLLECTION

I have the next newest collection from Sinful Colors! This one is called ‘Fashion Flash’. It has 8 polishes, and all of them have the ‘Luxe Fragments’ sticker on their cap. They’re all $2 each. I found these all at Walgreens.

I found all of these have the same formula really. They’re all a jelly base with differently colored shimmers, glitters and flakes, or “luxe fragments” throughout. They all take 2-3 coats to get opaque depending on how thick of coats you use. And because it’s a jelly formula, I’ve found that it will take a little longer to dry than normal creams, especially if you put on a thicker layer. The flakes distribute evenly without having to place them, and they don’t stick up really. Because there are flakes, it doesn’t dry textured, but it is bumpy. I also found that these dry semi-matte, so you’ll need a top coat to really bring out the shine and dimension. Removal isn’t as terrible as a normal glitter, but because you do have those flakes, they can take a little scrubbing, and I did get glitter everywhere after removal. Something to keep in mind.

Now onto the individual shades!
