Sista Chic Lacquer Santa Baby Holiday 2019 Collection

PR SAMPLE

Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend and Black Friday! What deals did you pick up? I picked up entirely too much makeup, especially eyeshadow, but I can’t wait to swatch it all for you guys when it gets here.

I got back to my apartment today as there was no way in hell I was battling the Sunday travel chaos, and I am definitely excited for an extra day to be productive. You know I say that, and then I also immediately took a 2 hour nap when I got back. Honestly sometimes you have to schedule in a nap.

Being an adult is very exciting.

Anyways, we’re being productive and continuing on with the holiday collections and releases. We got a fun post today! We’re looking at the newest release from Sista Chic Lacquer, a company I’ve been swatching for quite a while.

We have quite the big collection for Sista Chic. This might be one of the biggest releases she’s ever had, and there are so many fun finishes here. She’s releasing 9 shades in her new holiday collection called ‘Santa, Baby’. She talks about “stepping away from traditional Christmas polishes that you see” and I think it’s certainly done here! There are so many unique colors and finishes to look at.

These will be available on December 1st on the Sista Chic website. They’ll be $10 each, and the linear holographic will be $12. As always, part of the proceeds from each polish goes to Project Rescue, an organization that helps out with girls and women rescued from sex trafficking. Always a good cause!

Now let’s get right into the polishes.

Sista Chic Lacquer ‘The Legend of Lizzie Borden’ Fall 2019 Collection

PR SAMPLE

You know how I said I had a couple days off and I’ll be at my parents house and can’t wait to have all this time to spend on blogging? Well, she did not have all this time to spend on blogging. I can’t be mad, I’ve been busy seeing family and helping out with my cousin’s wedding yesterday! It was so much fun, and I’m so glad she asked me to be in it.

I’m finally back in Chicago, and ready to catch up on swatching and posting! After a lovely train delay of 2.5 hours and then falling asleep in my chair once I finally got home, I’ve got a Starbucks Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew (I get the love for these now) and I’m ready and LET’S DO IT.

Since I mentioned pumpkin, y’all know that means MORE FALL COLLECTIONS. Today we’re looking at the new fall collection from Sista Chic Lacquer. This is ‘The Legend of Lizzie Borden’ collection and it’s a 5 piece collection based on TRUE CRIME. NAIL POLISH AND TRUE CRIME, TWO OF MY LOVES. What more could I need. (There’s supposed to be a movie coming out with a more fictionalized version of this story coming out with Chloe Sevigny and Kristen Stewart and I need that like yesterday).

The polishes will be released TOMORROW, OCTOBER 1st, on the Sista Chic Lacquer website! They’ll be $10 each, except for the holo polish which will be $12. And as always, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to Project Rescue, an organization who supports women and children rescued from sex trafficking.

Now onto the polishes!

Sista Chic Lacquer ‘That Song is Stuck in My Head’ Trio

PR SAMPLE

Happy Labor Day weekend everyone! Do you have any plans for your long weekend? I’m going up with friends to our college town for a little reunion, and I’m so excited! I can’t wait to just be goofy and silly with college friends for an entire weekend.

And of course, this time I made sure there’s lot of polish queued up for the long weekend, so don’t worry there’s still polish and posts coming! Lots of fall collections on the way, and this new trio.

***

It’s a quick little post today for a cute little trio. We have a new trio from Sista Chic Lacquer! This is the ‘That Song is Stuck in My Head’ trio and is based on those songs that just get stuck in your head when you hear them. It’s a trio, so there are 3 new polishes. These will release on September 1st on the Sista Chic website and will retail for $10 each. As always, a portion of the profits will go to Project Rescue, an organization that helps women and children rescued from sex trafficking.

There is another trio also releasing on the 1st, so be sure to tune into the Sista Chic website!

Sista Chic Lacquer ‘Lady Sings the Blues’ Trio

PR SAMPLE

I thought maybe I would have a fun little anecdote here, like I usually do, but really I got nothing. I’m still slowly making my way through Game of Thrones (finally). I still have too much makeup and nail polish to talk about. Enough about me. How are you all doing today? It’s once again warm here, before it drops down to a lil cooler again – it’s like it’s still nervous to stay warm for too long.

But you know, it’s never too warm or too cold to talk about new nail polish! HeyOOOOO. Alright let’s just get right into it shall we.

Sista Chic Lacquer is releasing a fun little trio tomorrow, June 1st, for their summer offering. It’s a trio of blues all honoring blues singer and legend Aretha Franklin. We got one cream, one beautiful holo, and one fun glitter and hexagon filled cream. These will all be available on their website! Let’s talk about the swatches!

Sista Chic Lacquer ‘Chic & Cheeky’ Duo

PR SAMPLE

You know, I meant to get this up earlier, but catching up on 5 seasons of Game of Thrones, and then just plain going to bed early has got me all off on my swatching schedule. (That’s right I’m way behind on Game of Thrones, and working on it, if you spoil anything I will KICK YOU).

Anyways, let’s talk about this “cheeky” little duo that releases today, shall we?

Damn, the quickest intro I’ve ever had into a post. Don’t worry, I’ll be more chatty in literally every other post.

********

This is the ‘Chic & Cheeky’ duo from Sista Chic Lacquer.  The owner, Debbi, says she was inspired to create this collection after another swatcher described a polish as “cheeky”. They’re two fun pinks, and available now on the Sista Chic website. Just like all of her other polishes, a portion of the money from these polishes will be donated to Project Rescue, an organization helping those rescued from sex trafficking.

As before, these were sent to me for my honest review, but I’ll always give my honest thoughts, all that fun and jazz. Now let’s get into the fun stuff.

Sista Chic Lacquer ‘Embrace the Pink’ Trio

As I’ve said in the last couple of posts, I’m still catching up on products to review, and getting through the ones that have collected and piled up on my desk. I was busy during the past couple of weeks with apartment viewings as I tried to find a new place to live. And I got an apartment! The craziness was all worth it as I found a new apartment that I love and I can’t wait to move at the end of March. So now that that madness has died down, I’m back and ready to swatch and get posts out.

I’ve just been feeling inspired you know? I always love swatching and reviewing and talking about nail polish and beauty. But I’m suddenly feeling even more inspired and motivated, and just wanting to get out as many posts as I can. I got lots to talk about, and I just want to show it all to you guys. There will of course be lots of nail polish, but there will also be lots of makeup and other beauty posts coming. This blog will always be mainly nail polish, but I do love all parts of beauty and want to talk about it as well. As always, it’s my blog, and I’m going to talk about all the things I’m loving. I hope you’re all ready for the ride.

Now let’s get on into this polish I’m talking about.

********

This newest post to talk about is another collection from Sista Chic Lacquer! If you haven’t seen the other posts, Sista Chic Lacquer is a small indie brand, and really the first indie nail polish brand I got to try. (As always, these were sent to me for my honest review, and I will always give my honest thoughts.)

This new trio is called the ‘Embrace the Pink’ trio and will be releasing on March 1st on the Sista Chic website. This trio has a very special inspiration as well. They are in honor of Catherine Cronall, a fellow Instagrammer, YouTuber and nail polish lover. (Follow her at @mrscronall). She is currently fighting breast cancer, and so Sista Chic decided to honor her with a trio of pinks to support her on her journey, which I love. All profits from this collection will also be donated to the Breast Cancer Foundation in Catherine’s name as well.

It’s a lovely message, and a beautiful way to support her, and all of those women who have to deal with this fight. So let’s get into the pinks.

Sista Chic ‘They Say It’s Your Birthday’ and ‘Moulin Rouge’ Trios

It’s a truly snowy and chilly wintery weekend, so I’m using that as an opportunity to hole up in my apartment and get some swatching done. It’s 3 degrees today, so I’m not leaving. I am one that loves the snow, so when it finally blizzarded this weekend, I loved it so much. It had been so cold and gray for a while, and it was just a depressing winter. If it’s going to be this cold and gray, a little snow just helps it out a little. Especially when they’re big fluffy flakes just dropping down. I went to college way up North in Michigan, so maybe that’s why I love it.

There’s lots of fun polishes to talk about, so let’s just get into it.

Sista Chic ‘Christmas Classics’ Holiday 2018 Collection

It’s the first of the holiday collection posts on their way! And it’s only fitting that it’s a ‘Christmas Classics’ collection.

This is the new holiday collection from Sista Chic Lacquer. As always, I’ll be open that this collection was provided to me for review, but of course, all opinions are my own, and I promise to only provide my honest thoughts and feelings. Disclaimer that has to always be put out there. (I did also buy some shades on my own recently, and will be putting up swatches of those as well!)

Now onto the collection. This is the ‘Christmas Classics’ collection, and it’s a 7 piece collection based on essential Christmas movies and songs. There are 5 polishes and then 2 toppers. These will release on December 1st on Sista Chic’s Etsy store for $10 each. Find them here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/sistachiclacquer

Let’s get right into the swatches!

Sista Chic Laquer – Fall & Halloween 2018 Collections

It’s a little bit of a different post today! It might be a little longer, and a little chattier. But ya know, all the info is important, so I do recommend a read. (I mean, of course I recommend a read of all my posts, hah!)

Today, I’m talking about Sista Chic Lacquer, and that’s right, it’s an indie brand – or that is, made by an independent maker. I know I haven’t talked about indies before – I’ll be honest that with my more limited budget, I can stick with mainstream releases – it’s also why I can’t review every single makeup product that comes out. The world of indies is so large, and diverse, but I hope that someday soon with a larger budget I can really crack into them and start adding them into posts. For now, these are my first!

I know indie polish can seem more expensive – but that is because you are literally paying for smaller batches of polishes made by one creator. So it makes sense. But they’re right about the same pricing as Essie and OPI.

These polishes in particular have been gifted to me for review.

I know, this is my first post like this, with a gifted polish, or even product in general. I love to give any new polish brand a fair shot, and to constantly test out and try new things, and will review any polishes I buy or that I’m lucky enough to receive. As always, I’ll be sure to be honest and tell you when they’ve been provided for review – that’s so crazy to say! This is my first sample and I’m still so grateful for it! And of course, even though it’s been provided to me, I’ll always give an honest review, and won’t let that sway me in just reviewing the formulas in general. Just a little disclaimer. I pride myself on always being honest and open with my thoughts, and I won’t let that change.

Now that that disclaimer is over and out, let’s talk about this brand. Sista Chic Lacquer is made by @sistachic1 on Instagram. I will admit that I hadn’t seen her brand before she reached out to me, but I was glad to find them.

The brand’s motto is “Polish with a Purpose”, with part of all of their sales going to support Project Rescue, an organization that rescues sexually trafficked women and children. That part immediately caught my eye, and made me eager to try out these polishes. I love a wonderful cause like this, and you know pretty polish is just a bonus.

I have two smaller collections to talk about today, and wanted to just combine them into one post – since they’re releasing at the same time, and since I wanted to talk about the brand as a whole at first.

So let’s get into talking about the polish itself!

Like I said I have two collections to talk about – the ‘Harvest Moon’ Fall 2018 collection is 4 polishes, and then there is the ‘Monster Mash’ Halloween 2018 trio. These all release on October 1st on https://www.etsy.com/shop/sistachiclacquer and will retail for $9 each.

Now that I’ve written my small novel – let’s get into swatches.
