OPI x Hello Kitty Holiday 2019 Collection

This is a big ol’ collection to talk about today, so I’m not even going to ramble like I normally do! (Don’t get used to it, it’ll come back for more posts).

Today we’re talking about the first holiday collection of the year on the blog! Wild to think we’re already zooming into the holidays, but IT’S TIME. And we’re starting it with an exciting one!

This is the OPI holiday 2019 collection and it’s in collaboration with Hello Kitty! If you didn’t know, their first collaboration with Hello Kitty was for Spring 2016. That was before I was really into polish and collecting, so I only grabbed a few that I found in clearance bins after they came out. They had white wrappers with Hello Kitty’s face printed all over them. These ones this year have black wrappers with white bows printed all over.

There are 12 polishes in the core release, and then 3 exclusive glitter toppers. And of course I bought them all! I picked all of these up from polishpick.com, where I get all of my OPI polishes – they have the best prices and quickest shipping!

There’s a lot of polishes and I went a little ham with photos, so we got a lot to look at! Let’s get right into it!

Review

Listen, I love eyeshadow and palettes. A LOT. Some might say I have a problem, but there are worse problems to have really. I recently hauled a bunch of new palettes, and I’m promising myself that along with those, it’s time to get up some reviews that have been on the backburner for far too long! I’m telling myself that reviewing the palettes on my blog will help offset all of the new ones I buy (it makes sense to me, okay, let me have this).

I definitely let my eyeshadow palette reviews slip a little bit, and want to get back into them more regularly. They can definitely be more “intimidating” to write since they take more work, but I’m working on tackling them one chunk at a time in order to get them out in a more timely fashion in the future. This is first and foremost a nail blog, so I’m still nailing (sorry) down the makeup review routine!

Now let’s talk about this palette! This one has been on the backburner far too long, and it’s about time I get it up!

This is an “older” palette now by Colourpop standards, but I’m working on not letting that stop me from reviewing things! There’s such a focus on having the newest things constantly, I think it’s good to go back and talk about things that I still have and like even if they’re not “new”. This is a permanent palette, and you can still buy it on the Colourpop website. I know I do review a lot of limited edition things, but I do like talking about permanent buys as well – you don’t have to rush out to buy it and you can really think about your decision and whether it’ll fit into your collection. I’m always just trying to help make more informed decisions for purchases, and overall, it all depends on your preferences!

Alright onto the palette. This is the ‘Uh Huh Honey’ palette from Colourpop and it’s one of the 9 pan palettes from their monochromatic series. Like I said, it’s a lil “older” now, but still available, and who doesn’t love yellow all year round! I love wearing this palette with a deep burgundy red lip, so it’s still perfect for the upcoming winter. It retails for $12 and is their traditional square plastic packaging like the others.

Like all other eyeshadow palette reviews, I have swatches, eye looks and then the review! You can skip to any part of it with the links above. Let’s get into it!

Orosa Beauty Fall 2019 Collection

GIVEAWAY PRIZE

Hey-oooo this is our last fall collection to talk about! Isn’t that crazy to think about? And then I’m almost “on time” for all of the holiday collections 😂 I know it’s crazy to think about, but all the brands are in full on holiday mode, so that is the ONE PLACE I will allow holidays early. Otherwise all Christmas music has to wait until December 1st and we’re not forgetting about Thanksgiving here. Rules are rules.

So let’s talk about this last fall collection shall we? Our last grasp on the 60 degree wonderful last sunny days in this blog (I miss those days, it’s already down to 40s and gray here).

I have the Fall collection today from Orosa Beauty! This is a new to me brand, and a newer overall brand to discuss. This brand started this year, and this is now their 2nd collection they’ve released, after a Summer collection. I had seen posts, but hadn’t been truly dialed into their releases until this fall collection. It’s full of stunning cream shades and some beautiful deeper colors.

And then I was tagged in a giveaway they were doing, and I won! This is the first giveaway I ever won on Instagram, so I was so dang excited! (Is this what it’s like to win the lottery). The brand was so kind, and they told me I won on Thursday and the package with the polishes was already to me two days later on Saturday! I was so impressed, and the polishes are just so cute (there’s just something about those square bottles that gets me.

This is their Fall 2019 collection and features 6 cream shades – 1 more sheer, and the rest are full creams. They retail for $12 each on the Orosa Beauty website.

Let’s get on into the swatches!

Essie Fall 2019 Collection

PURCHASED

You know when you have a wild Friday night in, swatching polishes and drinking tea? Just me? Whatever, I had a great time. And then the next night I was out with my friends until 2am because I like to keep everyone guessing. It’s about balance.

Speaking of wild amounts of swatching, I finished up the last two fall collections we have to talk about. So there’s one more after this, and then we’re diving head first into holiday collections! I’m going to keep bringing it up so you’re fully prepared all around.

Now onto this first fall collection we have to talk about that I’m so glad I finally got into my hands and onto my nails! This is the Essie fall 2019 collection, and it’s of course 6 polishes. I picked mine up from 8ty8beauty.com – they still have all the shades in stock as of this post, and I love their site for always having the newest Essie collections! Super quick shipping and I love them overall.

This is a lovely fall collection with some yellows, greens and warm tones! We have some beautiful colors to look at, so let’s get right into it!

China Glaze ‘To Catch a Color’ Halloween 2019 Collection

Heyooooo, we got another post! We’re still finishing up a couple fall posts, and then we’re going straight on into Holiday reviews already. Scary, right?

SPEAKING OF SCARY, today we’re looking at the China Glaze Halloween release. (Seamless transition). Listen, I know it’s November 1st, Halloween was yesterday, blah blah blah I DON’T CARE. Since I’m celebrating this weekend, Halloween continues until this weekend, thank you.

And come on, we can all be spooky all winter. It’s spooky enough that it was snowing yesterday on Halloween.

So let’s talk about this China Glaze collection! This is a 6 polish collection called ‘To Catch a Color’ and it has a variety of true-crime inspired names. So of course, while swatching, I pulled up my trusty 21 streaming seasons of Law & Order: SVU. I know y’all love Benson & Stabler as much as I do. Again, combining my two loves of nail polish and true crime. LET’S GET INTO IT. DUN DUN.

I picked this whole collection up off polishpick.com (if you purchase anything from there, you can put in my name as who sent you – I don’t get any commission off this, it just helps the website to see where people come from). Now into the swatches!

Wet N Wild Halloween 2019 Review – Palettes, Highlights & Lip Products

Happy Halloween and Happy spooky week, y’all! There’s still plenty of time to get spooky, and plenty of time to talk about some Halloween products! And still some more spooky posts to come!

I honestly love Halloween releases so much. I wish more companies did them really. I know they can be a little more out there, and less everyday than the normal person looks for, but I love how unique they get and how they allow me to experiment with new and different colors and finishes! This is my petition to have more companies come out with Halloween collections. MORE HALLOWEEN, I SAY.

And one of the companies that always comes out with lots of Halloween themed products is Wet N Wild. I was so excited when I saw their new Fantasy Makers released, and knew I had to get my hands on some of them.

As I’ve mentioned before, living in Chicago I only miss stores when they get limited edition releases. For example, Walmart. There are no large Walmarts around me in the city that get the bigger limited edition collections, so every time I go back to my parents house in Michigan, they’re very used to me disappearing to go scope out the local Walmarts for makeup and nail polish I normally wouldn’t be able to find. And I was so dang excited when I found the big ol’ display for the new Wet N Wild Halloween products!

This is in Walmarts and I’ve seen it in Walgreens as well. Otherwise, most of the individual products are still available on their website. I grabbed the products I was interested in from the display – there are a lot of other ones that I didn’t get, including lots of shades of lip products, liquid eyeshadows and cream eyeshadows – but I held myself back from ordering online. I’m trying to be a LITTLE better, okay

But I grabbed the 4 new eyeshadow palettes, 2 new highlighters, the Zombie blush and 2 lip products! Let’s talk about em!

Sinful Colors Wicked Neons Halloween 2019

Halloween is right around the corner, and I’m very excited! What is your costume this year? It also means we have Halloween nail polishes to talk about! Including…

NEW SINFUL COLORSSSSS!!! If you all don’t know (and idk how you don’t as I mention it with every Sinful Colors post) but Sinful Colors is the brand I started my blog on, and at this point I’ve basically been able to swatch and post about every collection they’ve released since then, so they have a little sentimental place in my heart and always will.

So I always get too excited when they release something new. But they’re constantly coming out with new and unique finishes for such an affordable price, so can you blame me?

And I think you know where this is all going, WE HAVE A NEW SINFUL COLORS COLLECTION TO TALK ABOUT. We have 8 new polishes released in their ‘Wicked Neon’ collection for Halloween 2019. It contains 4 neon shades, and 4 toppers. This is once again in collaboration with Bebe Rexha, and 3 of the shades have the little sticker ‘Bebe’s Shade’ on them: ‘W*tch Please’, ‘Blue in the Dark’ and ‘Glow For It’. The rest of the caps have ‘Blacklight Technology’ on them. (I don’t show them in the blacklight, but I linked Accio Nail’s post down below where she does!)

I found these at Walmart in a large display and they were $1.99 each! Let’s get into the shades!

Color Club Matte-ified Metallics Collection

PURCHASED

Whew! It’s been a while! Well, a while to me. Maybe you haven’t noticed, maybe you don’t care. But it’s been a WHILE. Couple quick life updates because as always, this is my blog and I can talk about what I want. (I promise we’ll get into the polish).

ANYWAYS. Firstly, I was wrapped up in a project! My old boss puts on art shows once a year, and he messaged me saying to submit a piece! (I graduated with a degree in design and am in the art field for my real job). As I haven’t at all changed, I procrastinated and then my whole weekend before this past one was a full one of just madly finishing a piece and getting it sent out. And it was sent out early because I had a family wedding this weekend in Tennessee! It ended up being so much fun and I was so glad to see family members that I hadn’t seen in so long. All good things all around, but of course, all things that took up my time! Now I’m back and getting my shit together and getting back on schedule.

And that schedule includes lots of polish to talk about and lots of reviews on their way!

***

Now this lovely collection, I posted about it quite a while ago – and then life got in the way, see above – and these beautiful swatches were just sitting and waiting for me in all their beauty. It’s finally time to get them on out.

This is the Color Club Matte-ified Metallics collection, and as you can tell, it contains 6 shades of matte metallic finishes. I grabbed these from the Color Club website when they were 50% off. They’re $8.50 each normally, but Color Club is always having sales, so definitely watch their Instagram, and you can always grab the polishes for at least 30% off pretty regularly.

Let’s get on into the swatches and let them talk for themselves! Also, can we talk about those frosted bottles? You wanna sell me something, put it in a frosted bottle. *drools*

Zoya Sensual Fall 2019 COMPARISONS

See the original review post hereZoya ‘Sensual’ Fall 2019 Collection

I will admit, I fell a little behind on my comparison posts. With all the traveling I’ve done these past two months, they fell a little by the wayside in favor of actual collection posts. But every time I get back into pulling comparisons, I love it. And I’m surprised by dupes I find within my collections.

So don’t you worry, even if they happen to fall behind, they’ll never completely leave. THEY’RE TOO DANG HELPFUL AT THIS POINT.

Now I do want to point out, of course, I don’t do comparisons for every single collection. For ones that I know are completely unique finishes and won’t have dupes, like the Essie Glazed Days and Gorge-ous Geodes for example, I won’t do a comparison post. I know I won’t have anything like it in my collection, so there’s no need. Only if there are ones with similar finishes that will actually be worth comparing will I pull them.

We got a couple all cream-finish collections coming up, so there will be lots of comparisons on the way! Let’s get into it already.

We’re looking at the Zoya Sensual collection for Fall 2019 today! I had 7 shades from this collection that I pulled comparisons for. The others I didn’t find anything close.

Essie Rocky Rose Collection COMPARISONS

See the original review post hereEssie Rocky Rose Collection

It’s another comparison post! I want to continue posting these for every collection I swatch. I know they’re helpful to me, especially when it comes to destashing and making sure I don’t have duplicates. And helpful to others when they’re deciding to buy!

And I’ve had this done, but apparently I forgot to post this earlier! I know this collection is still fairly recent, so I wanted to post it up anyways. I know it’ll still be helpful, especially with all the dupes I found within my own collection this time! At this point I have enough polishes that with a collection of all creams, there’s bound to be some dupes hiding out in there.

As always, I didn’t find a dupe for every single shade. So this post is just highlighting the ones that had close comparisons! If I didn’t have any polishes that come close, I don’t include them. So let’s get right into the swatches!
