Essie Fall 2021 Collection – Swatches & Review

The temperatures are finally (and hopefully for good) dropping over here, and so I immediately soup. I was still sweating while eating it but you know, the thought is there and I still declare soup season is on.

And so OF COURSE there’s even more fall collections to look at, we’re not done with them just yet! Continuing right along, we now have Essie’s release to look at. We have our normal 6 bottle release, and I grabbed them from Ye Olde Target (how dare Essie keep these from my beloved discount prices of PolishPick, but I digress). We have 4 creams, and 2 shimmers in a variety of interesting shades and colors!

So let’s get right into the swatches!

Sally Hansen NEW 2021 Color Foil Polishes – Swatches & Review

A BLAST FROM THE PAST. That’s right, Sally Hansen has re-released their Color Foil line!

The original line released back in 2014, and had 10 shades. Now that was back before I fully got into polish and swatching, and before my instagram and blog so I didn’t grab them. So I won’t have the originals to fully compare.

In this new line, we have 7 shades. I have 6 of them, with one being out of stock when I ordered (I’m missing Vio-lit, the lilac purple). These have different names than the previous release, but the colors seem pretty similar so they translate well. Looking at old swatches, it seems like the shades now “missing” in the new release are a super bright pink, a more teal-blue shade, and a yellowy-green.

Sally Hansen describes these as a high shine shades that dry to a mirror finish. So of course I was super interested to see how any foiled shade from the drugstore would hold up.

I grabbed these from CVS’s website, as my local stores can be bad about getting things in stock. They retail for $8.99 each, so more than their Insta-dri lines, but cheaper than the Miracle Gels. They come in these square metallic bottles (Sally Hansen does love to have 16 different bottle shapes) with a different colored sticker to match the polish inside.

Let’s look at the swatches!

Orly ‘Wild Natured’ Fall 2021 Collection – Swatches & Review

I spilled my Pumpkin Cream cold brew on myself right as I was finishing up this post, so you know this feels fitting. Happy fall y’all.

***

Alright let’s get into the review, as the caffeine courses through my veins. And of course, we’re looking at yet another fall collection! This is the ‘Wild Natured’ collection for fall 2021 from Orly. It features 6 saturated cream shades in another gorgeous color scheme (I think this is the perfect “fall version” of their summer release as well). It’s a different take on fall color palettes and I love it!

As always, I received this as part of my Orly Color Pass that I purchased. If you haven’t read my previous Orly reviews – the Color Pass is a thing Orly does where you pay one larger sum at the beginning, and then you receive 4 Orly collections throughout the year automatically. Each box always contains that seasons 6 piece release, as well as other additional goodies. I absolutely love it, and it’s been perfect for someone like me who always plans on purchasing any collection anyways! I definitely recommend it but of course it depends on your own polish purchasing habits.

But enough chatting, let’s get into the swatches!

China Glaze ‘Autumn Spice’ Fall 2021 Collection – Swatches & Review

The temperatures dipped down to 70 degrees, it’s obviously FALL NOW (she says ignoring the pop back up to 84 later on in the week). I have my first Starbucks pumpkin cream cold brew next to me so it’s time to review some more FALL COLLECTIONS.

***

The one we’re looking at today is the ‘Autumn Spice’ collection from China Glaze for fall 2021 – but I’m sure you gathered that from the title. It features 5 cream shades, and one shimmer.

This collection is the most fall of fall collections you could ever ask for, from the colors themselves to the names as well (I mean, it’s even called Autumn Spice). So if you’re missing out on any fall staples, this collection is for you. Or if you’re like me and you can’t get enough of these stereotypical fall shades. As always, I grabbed this collection from my favorite, polishpick.com. (Not sponsored at all – I do get a discount purchasing there, but I was purchasing every collection I could from there before they ever offered me even more money off. It’s just the best prices every time.)

Alright, let’s get right into these gorgeous swatches!

Whats Up Nails ‘Shorter Days’ 2021 Collection – Swatches & Review

PR SAMPLE

Whenever a new brand reaches out to me offering to send polishes, I’m always so excited to try out something that I might have missed or wouldn’t have been able to try on my own (Contrary to what you might think, I don’t have the budget to try EVERY brand). And I always enjoy showing you all different brands and polishes as well. So when Whats Up Nails reached out to me about trying their new release, I was so intrigued!

Whats Up Nails is an online stores that distributes a variety of other brands of polishes. They’re also super well known for their nail art supplies, especially their stamping plates. But recently they started releasing their own line of polishes as well! This is the 2nd release they’ve had, with the Desert Monsoon collection coming out earlier this summer. I hadn’t bought from them yet, so I was definitely here to try it out!

This new release is called the Shorter Days collection and features 6 shades in a variety of finishes and colors! The color palette looks so nice next to each other as well! You can find a bundle of the shades on their website, as well as the individual colors.

Let’s get right into the swatches shall we! (And I always give my spiel, that even though these were gifted to me, that never stops me from honestly reviewing the polishes and formulas! I never have obligations for positive reviews, and I review them all the same. You would be able to see bad formulas right in the live swatches as well! Alright now to the polishes!)

OPI ‘Downtown LA’ Fall 2021 Collection – Swatches & Review

IT’S FALLLLLLLL, I write as its continually 80 degrees outside here in Chicago. Listen, we had a week of 72 degree days, and I was a fool and let myself think that maybe fall weather was on the way. It happens EVERY YEAR and I fall for it EVERY TIME. The weather went up to 90s immediately after that, it was playing me.

But even though it’s not fall outside, it’s FALL in the polish world! That’s right, we’re already looking at fall releases! The major mainstream brands have dropped the fall releases so we’re diving right in with my favorite, OPI.

This is the ‘Downtown LA’ and it continues their 40th anniversary celebration with another California-themed release, this time for the bustling city of Los Angeles.

We have a lot of gorgeous saturated and rich creams here, along with a couple sparkles that I know everyone will love! And as always, I grabbed this from my love, polishpick.com. I know buying from these discount websites can be intimidating at first, but I’ve purchased from PolishPick so many times – it’s the only place I buy my OPIs and China Glazes at this point. They have the best prices, and insanely fast shipping! So if you do pick some up let them know I sent you! They have the collection not only in the regular lacquer formula, but also in Infinite Shine and Gelcolor formulas.

So let’s get into the swatches already!

Sinful Colors x Saweetie ‘Vacay Vibes’ 2021 Collection – Swatches & Review

If you’ve been around this blog for any amount of time, you’ll know just how much I love Sinful Colors. They’re the brand I really started my blog and Instagram on, and the first collections I would review. They were cheap so college me could snatch up every release they put out and still afford to eat that week. And that hasn’t changed even now when I have more of a nail polish budget as an adult with a full-time job. I’ll always grab anything Sinful Colors puts out.

So OF COURSE, I had to grab this newest release. This is the ‘Vacay Vibes’ collection, a 6 piece bright and warm color palette perfect for summer. It’s another collaboration with Saweetie, who they’ve collaborated with for multiple collections this year.

I grabbed this collection from Walmart’s website – you can only buy the full 6 piece collection, but these are super affordable, so it’s not bad at all. Ever since Sinful Colors dropped out of Walgreens it has been harder to find them, so I appreciate when I can still grab them online!

So alright, let’s get into these shades!

Holo Taco ‘Electric Holos’ 2021 Collection – Swatches & Review

Ahh Holo Taco, my love. Holo Taco is one of those brands that if I had unlimited money, I would throw it at SimplyNailogical and buy every thing she releases. But alas, I don’t have unlimited funds – much because I buy so much other nail polish, okay. I’ll know I have made it when I can press ‘Add to Cart’ with no hesitancy, the dream.

Anyways, every so often, a new Holo Taco releases catches my eye so much that I find a way to squeeze it on into my polish purchasing for that month, and this release was one of them. This is the Holo Taco ‘Electric’ Holos collection. It features 5 linear holographic shades in bright and fun and unique shades, and there was just a bright lime green so I had to have it. It’s available on the Holo Taco website as a bundle or you can purchase the individual shades. Let’s get right into the swatches, shall we?

Essie ‘Have a Ball’ 2021 Collection – Swatches & Review

Y’all when the Instagram algorithm is goin’ wild and causing stress, I always love knowing this blog will be here, being consistent and lovely. Thank you all always for reading, and I can’t wait to focus even more on this as the year continues on! This platform keeps me sane, and who knows, maybe blogs will have a big comeback! I only hope it’s a lovely resource for you all on your polish journey!

Alright enough blabbering, let’s talk about some nail polish, shall we?

It’s been a new thing in recent years that Essie releases 76 collections per year, so of course we’re looking at another one! I haven’t even looked into the Gel Couture or Expressie releases, because their regular polish line is keeping me busy enough!

This newest one is the ‘Have a Ball’ collection, and it’s 6 shades inspired by tennis! Now, when I heard this and saw previews of this collection, I had an absolutely mighty need. See, I played tennis all throughout high school, and still love to play and watch it today, so I just wanted it so badly. I was scouring the web for where to find these while Wimbledon played in the background. (Any other tennis fans? Do you have a fave player?)

These are available at select CVS stores – I know they released in the UK as well before they came to the US. I was lucky enough that an Instagram friend found them for me and sent them on over! Now these shades are absolutely gorgeous and fun, so let’s get right into them!

Olive & June Summer 2021 Collection – Swatches & Review

AFFILIATE LINK

We’re looking at a new to the blog brand today! We’re talking about Olive & June. Now I’ve seen them floating around all over Instagram – those white caps are easy to spot and recognize anywhere, and I had been so curious. And when this summer collection was revealed, I knew it was TIME. They’re $8 each, so less expensive than other more indie-mainstream brands I’ve seen so I thought why not! Let’s look into it!

As mentioned, this is the O&J release for Summer 2021. It features 7 cream shades over a lovely rainbow of colors. I grabbed this off of the Olive & June website – NOW I of course always want to honest and upfront and say that that link is an affiliate link! If you shop through it, I’ll earn a commission on any purchase through it. BUT you are not at all required to shop through it – you can just hit the normal oliveandjune.com. Of course, this doesn’t mean I would ever hold back my opinions on formulas – I’ll always be honest about my feelings and how the polishes perform, and you’ll especially be able to see so in the live swatches! And since I’m always here to be upfront, I just wanted to mention that! I still purchased these entirely on my own and I’m not at all required to review them for the program, and I voluntarily signed up.

And a quick tip: you can pop on off that bigger white top for a smaller handle that’s easier to hold! Okay let’s look at these shades!
