Zoya Earth Day Haul 2019

Happy Memorial Day everyone! I’m thoroughly enjoying my day off by lazing around, listening to the storm outside, and writing blog posts. How have you celebrated?

I might have said this before, but it was 80 degrees this past Saturday and I was THRIVING. I absolutely love the warm weather, and especially after moving to a new place where I can just have the windows open all the time, it’s been fabulous. You would think that if I loved the warm weather so much, I would move away from the area that had a literal polar vortex this year. But as much as I love the warm weather, I need those 4 separate seasons as well. I like having set weather for different time periods, you feel? I CAN’T EVER GIVE UP FALL.

Give me a solid 80 degree day any day. Shall we talk about polish now?

It’s been about a month since I picked these up, but I still wanted to show you my Zoya Earth Day haul! If you don’t know, every year Zoya does an Earth Day sale, that usually runs for the entire month of April. During that time, you can get any 6+ shades for half off, or $5 a bottle. It’s a great price, and I always pick up at least 6 shades that I’ve had my eye on for the year.

Another big part of it is that with any order, you can send back any old shades or polish that has gone bad back into Zoya, and they’ll recycle the bottles and polish safely! It’s a great way to get rid of any old or dried up polish in a safe and healthy way.

Zoya Earth Day Haul 2018!

It’s that time of year again where I have my Zoya Earth Day Haul! If you’re not aware of it, every year during the month of April for Earth Day, Zoya offers 50% off all of their polishes, making them $5 each.

I’m at the point where I honestly order from Zoya twice a year – during the Earth Day sale, and during the Black Friday sale. I never pay full price for polishes, so ordering them at $10 at any other point of the year is something I can’t bring myself to do yet.

I also love the Earth Day sale for the recycling aspect of it. After you order, you can send any polishes you don’t want, from any brand, back to Zoya with your invoice and they’ll safely recycle them for you. It really makes me sit down, and go through my collection, and get rid of polishes that I know I won’t wear, whether it’s because of formula or just not loving the color on me. It’s what inspired me to start getting my colors all down on swatch sticks as well! (That project has halted a little while I’m busy swatching).

So I went through my wishlist, and watched favorites videos from both JoyfulBeauty and PaintThosePiggies on YouTube (I have to credit them for a lot of my choices) and “narrowed” it down to 12 polishes.

I ordered these by color, because as you go down, there’s definitely a theme. I was very much feeling the springy, cool-toned shades… Enough rambling, we got a lot of polishes to swatch.

Soap & Glory Small Haul

Hello friends, I have a small little haul for you! I’m trying to make sure I’m posting everything that I’m buying so you can see what I’m trying out and what reviews will be coming your way. And you can say what reviews you want to see sooner than others!

So in my neck of the woods (I live in Chicago now, but grew up in Michigan), winters can be pretty brutal. I’m actually working from home today because of a grand ol’ snowstorm. It’s been dumping on us the past week, I think, to make up for the snow we haven’t had up until then.

But this means it’s been very cold, and specially with the wind in the windy city, my skin gets dry and flaky. So I was looking for some refuge to save me from becoming a crocodile.

I’ve heard good things about Soap & Glory, especially their body products, and wanted to try a couple to really help moisturize. So I went on down to Ulta (I had to pick up my birthday gift anyways) and found some. It was buy 2, get 1 free on the brand so I picked up 3 products.

SG-Haul

So let’s get into the products!

First off, I have to say I really love the packaging and whole style of the brand. They have amazing names that are plays on words, and I love their pink branding. As a design nerd, I love the whole aesthetic. They pull it off really well, and all of the products are super fun.

First up, is the ‘Peaches & Clean Deep Cleansing Milk’. I shower at night, and take off my makeup there, so I was looking for a cleansing melt that would help take my makeup off better in the shower. This retails for $12.

(All of these prices are Ulta prices, which have been known to be a little bit higher. You can find Soap & Glory at Walgreens and Target as well. Like DAMN looking at Target’s website now, you can pick this up for $8.80, normally $11. Ulta, I love you for the points and range of brands, but come on, that’s ridic.)

ANYWAYS. Next up was the main product I wanted to pick up. I’ve heard so many great things about their body scrubs, and my legs were so dry and flaky they needed help. So I picked up the ‘Flake Away Body Polish’. It retails for $15. (Or $11.20 at Target). It’s a more creamy scrub, with lots of exfoliating particles.

Lastly, I got the ‘Heel Genius’ Foot Cream. I’m always looking for a good cream to make my feeties smooth and touchable. This is a green-toned thick cream. This retails for $10 ($7.20 on Target).

I’ve been trying out these products for a little while, and can’t wait to put a full review for you guys! With the way the weather is going, it seems I’ll be able to use them for a while longer, so you know, that’s great.

Look out for the posts coming soon.

Haul: Zoya Black Friday!

Look, I’m still posting things late, look at me go! But my birthday was on December 15 so now I’m one year older and wiser and will probably continue to post things late. It’s good to know one’s flaws.

I’m FINALLY posting about my Zoya Black Friday sale – all of these polishes are obviously still available, so if you see something that catches your eye, you can order it at any time off Zoya’s website.

Zoya has two big sales a year – their Black Friday sale and their Earth Day sale. I save buying from Zoya until these times, as they’re a little higher price. But when those sales come around, I allow myself to go a little nuts, since it’s only twice a year, and Zoya has really good formulas.

This year, their Black Friday sale was for 50% off – less than their 70% off extravaganza for last year, but still a great sale. I ended up picking up 10 polishes, mainly from their Fall collection, as well as a random few others that caught my eye.

They can be divided up into 3 categories: nudes, greens, and vampy colors. Apparently those were what I was itching for. So let’s get into the swatches!

Zoya ‘Earth Day’ Haul

Continuing on with getting up old posts, I finally have my Zoya Earth Day haul! Yeah I know Earth Day was a while ago. I’m continuing with my phrase of “better late than never”. But hey, once I get through all of these posts, I can starting posting summer collections, which everyone is always excited about!

Anyways, Zoya ran a 50% off sale for Earth Day – if you bought polishes, you could also send in old polishes and Zoya would recycle them safely for you. This inspired me to clean out my collection, and I sent them a couple bags worth of old polishes! So you know, I made room for these new polishes.

Apparently in my order I had an inkling towards certain colors – aka blues and greens. Didn’t even realize until I started unpacking them. Whoops.

Walmart Haul! – New Hard Candy items + More

Whoops, been doing some shopping lately. I got my tax return back, so you know I just can’t be stopped. I’m not that much of an adult yet.

I decided to pop on over to Walmart (I literally only go there for the exclusive brands like Flower and Hard Candy) to see what goods I could find – I knew I needed a new foundation and concealer so this was the best place for a cheaper price on  some new items. The rest I just wanted because they were pretty.

Reviews on basically all of these products will be coming in the next few weeks as I test them out and really get to know them.

Let’s just get into it, shall we?

Hauling! – Birthday/ChristmasDrugstore Makeup

This is a LONG one. So hold up, and get ready to go. Like get yourself some coffee and just be ready to hang out.

Before I started writing this, I told myself, to make myself feel better, that I was gifted things and didn’t spend that much money. But now that I’m looking at it, I realize I have a problem and just am using the excuse of the holidays. It’s fine.

It’s safe to say I went eye palette crazy. I LOVE eyeshadow palettes. They’re honestly my favorite makeup product, so I just can’t get enough of them. I didn’t include swatches because I’ll be doing more in-depth reviews of them later on.

Enough chatter, let’s just get into the hauling.

Discount: TJ Maxx – OPI ‘Hello Kitty’ Shades

My Tj Maxx has really upped their polish game and that is dangerous for me. They have them displayed out on a beautiful spinning rack now, instead of thrown like peasants into two big bowls. Now I can truly see ALL my options – and that’s bad.

Also apparently I felt I didn’t have enough pinks in my entire collection, and just decided to try to buy them all in one trip. Don’t worry, I still don’t have enough because I just discovered a true love for pinks on my skin tone.

In this edition of TJ Maxx roundup, I found a lot of shades from the OPI Hello Kitty collection, which came out last December/January. After a quick search for swatches, I quickly snatched up every pink that was there. I have 5 from the collection to show you today!

Let’s get into the swatches.

Discount: OPI from TJ Maxx – July

Along with the posts about various discounted nail polishes I stumble upon while wandering, I also want to post regularly about the OPI collections that are now appearing at my local TJ Maxx. TJ Maxx is where I have gotten most of my OPI polishes that weren’t gifts, because they always have them for at least half off or more.

At this point in my life at least, I can’t buy full collections when they first come out and at full price. So I’m constantly looking at my TJ Maxx for the latest collections, a little after they’ve come out and are now being phased out.

I’ll say this is for the month of July, as it’s been a couple of trips to the store to get these 6 polishes.
