Wet N Wild Pac-Man Perfect Game Nail Polish Set

PURCHASED

Whew boy, it’s the start of a busy couple of months for me! I have two family weddings coming up, one in September and one in October – including being a bridesmaid for the September one, so it’s about to be a lot of traveling and craziness! I’ll be testing how well I can get posts together and ready to put up before I’m gone for a weekend, which is something I want to be better at anyways. I just talked about how I was more consistent in posting in July, so its time to REALLY TEST THAT.

It’s crazy that these are coming up so fast, and I can’t believe it’s already August! The time is just flying by. But we still have plenty of summer left here, and the heat isn’t letting up. Do you have any plans for the rest of the summer?

But as always, the polish doesn’t let up for any schedule! Today’s post is talking about this little nail polish set that came out in the Wet N Wild Pac-Man collection (I’ll have a separate post about the makeup items up in the next week or two). When this collection was previewed, I was very interested in the eyeshadow palette, of course, but seeing a nail polish set always makes me excited, and it was something I knew I had to snatch up. They’ve only done this one other time, with the Flights of Fancy collection last summer.

I’ll always miss the full limited edition nail polish collections that Wet N Wild used to come out with (especially as they ended right as I was getting into polish). And I’ll always have a hope that they’ll do them again someday. For now, I’ll deal, and have these little sets fill the void in my heart.

I purchased this off of the Wet N Wild website for $10. It is currently out of stock on the website, but I have also seen these at Walgreens – or for the Flights of Fancy collection, I found it at my local grocery store a little later. All I’m saying is that if you can’t find it, don’t give up hope.

It comes packaged in this themed box. I always say how much I love the details and packaging of Wet N Wild collections, and this one is no different! It’s so fun, and of course, encompasses the game so well. I’m tempted to keep this box as more of a display and collector’s piece.

There was even a card in the box, underneath the polishes, so that when you pulled them out, you see this background!

BoxInside

The set contains 5 polishes that are .24 fl. oz. They’re the same skinnier bottles as the ones that came out for the Flights of Fancy collection last summer. But they have a little bit of wider brush, so it’s easy to paint on.

For reference, a normal full sized bottle of polish is .5 fl oz., so these are basically each half a bottle of polish. I have so much polish that I’m not ever worried about running out of polish, so a smaller size doesn’t bother me at all – and the cheaper price is the same for any sort of mini nail polish collection.

None of these have names, (which is weird since the Flights of Fancy ones did) so we’ll just look at them in color order!

The first shade is a shimmery metallic yellow shade.

This had a smooth 1st coat, but did still show a little nail line even after a 2nd coat. I ended up doing 3 coats here, and as you can see it’s smooth, but there is still a super slight visible nail line. It’ll depend on the length of your nails, and your nail tips. But an easy formula to control overall! My nails are very ridged, so most people could get away with 2 coats on this one if you don’t mind the nail line.

Yellow

I love this and it definitely reminds me of Pac-man!

The next shade is an orange cream shade.

This will need a 2nd coat, but after that 2nd, it was smooth and opaque! So easy and smooth to paint on.

Orange

I love a good orange.

The next shade is a classic red cream. This is a more blue-based cool-toned red shade. A beautiful formula overall, and it was opaque in 1 easy coat. So smooth and just lovely overall! If you don’t have a classic red cream shade, this set could nicely add some classic shades in to a smaller collection.

Up next we have a warm-tone midtone pink shade. It has very subtle shimmer to it. This had a thinner, more uneven 1st coat. But it was an easy 2 coats. I did 3 coats for the picture, and it deepened up the color, just a touch, on the 3rd coat.

Pink

I do wish the shimmer was more noticeable overall. It’s so lost on the nails that if you weren’t looking closely or knew it already, you would miss it. But it’s a nice color overall!

Last but not least, we have this stunning sparkly blue shade! It’s a blue cream with gorgeous blue sparkles all throughout.

This was another smooth formula, and it was an easy 2 coats. It’s super easy to control on the nails, with a little bit of a thicker formula, so thicker coats won’t flood the cuticles at all.

Blue

I loved the shimmer in this shade, and it ended up being my favorite shade of the bunch! This will be perfect in the winter as well.

And a nice, quick review for this cute little set! I love collecting these little sets from Wet N Wild. Though they aren’t the same as their full size limited edition collections, I’m glad they’re including some polish in their recent collections. We can only cross our fingers that maybe this is the first step to bringing back nail polish…

This set is definitely just a fun little collector’s piece. It doesn’t have any crazy colors, but if you like collecting the sets, or you want to add some colors to a smaller collection, it’ll be fun. But I don’t think it’s something you need to kill yourself looking for to find! It’s affordable, but that shouldn’t ever be the only reason you buy something! I’m always just trying to help others make smart buying decisions for a product.

  1. The first time I saw this collection online, whoever posted about it failed to mention THE POLISHES so I almost screamed when I saw them at my local grocery store. These colors and formulas look super amazing though, I feel now even more justified picking them up (though nostalgia was a pretty good reason, I thought). The orange and blue are definitely the winners for me! Loving all the oranges recently, it’s like brands finally realized people want them 😀
